Sonic Altar Going On Indefinite Hiatus, Releasing New Album

Sonic Altar has issued the following announcement about posting a new song online and going on indefinite hiatus:

"Hello world! Wow... It's been some time. Firstly, apologies for the lack of communication surrounding our activity this year. Friends and family will obviously already know what has been going on but for the rest of you, hopefully this will shed some light.

"Dave and I relocated to Gothenburg (Sweden) in January to pursue another project called The Terrorhawks and everything is in full swing over here. During this time we have also built our own recording and rehearsal studio called Greyskull.

"The project has since developed into a fully functional band. We are currently finishing off an album and are booking some gigs in Sweden and Denmark before the end of the year. When we have a single or something out, I'll post it up here for those interested.

"As for Sonic Altar, we are on an indefinite hiatus. Around 7 years of my life was dedicated to this band and perhaps some day it may return in some shape or form. But in the meantime, our respective interests are focused elsewhere. It's taken some time for me to be able to post this, due to many different reasons but the main one being that it is quite a sad thing to admit. There wasn't any animosity or anything between the band that has caused this, it was just time to take things to the next level and that could only really happen the way that it has.

"On the positive side of Sonic Altar things, the album that we have been promising for a fucking eternity is finally going to be available online very soon. We are still working towards a physical release but it will be a while before that finally comes to fruition. I am finalizing artwork at the moment for it but also have to juggle what we are doing here.

"In the meantime, as a thank you for all the years and all the beers and all the support... I have put a song online from 'Under A Dying Sun' for all to download for free, or you can pay if you like... You decide! Just click 'Buy Now' and enter '0.00' to get the track for free. It also happens to be one of my favourites from our last effort. I can't wait for you all to hear the entire album!

"So... In closing, thank you all again. Thanks to everyone who came to a gig, thanks to anyone who bought an album, thanks to the rest of the band, thanks to the amazing people we have worked with live and in the studio and also a huge thank you to our long time mentor Alan Harter."
