Hot on the heels of the recent announcement of a North American tour sponsored by MetalUnderground.com with prog metal titans Pain of Salvation, Vangough is launching a crowd-funding campaign (full details here) to stay on the road and deliver a Kickstarter-exclusive live CD.

Vocalist and guitarist Clay Withrow explains how the next logical step was to get the band on tour following the release of third album, "Between the Madness" (reviewed here): “We’ve been aggressively trying to get on a tour for years now, so it’s been a longtime coming. This is a big step in bringing our music to a larger audience.”

Scheduled to appear at this year’s ProgPower USA Midweek Mayhem on with tour mates Pain of Salvation, Vangough is launching a crowd-funding campaign to help meet the mounting costs of being on the road. Withrow adds: “Understandably, there is no way we would pass up such a great opportunity. However, as some may not know, touring is an expensive endeavor. We are leaving our jobs for three weeks and taking a big hit financially so that we can go out and play for as many fans as possible.”

The Kickstarter campaign, found here, includes a variety of unique incentives including the backer-exclusive Madness in Atlanta live album, which will be recorded at their ProgPower USA performance in Atlanta. Other rewards include a tour documentary DVD, framed handwritten lyrics, an original piece of artwork from Clay, and even a night of video games with the band in Atlanta. “None of this would be possible without the support of our fans. We’re super excited to embark on the next chapter of our musical journey together!”

This album is a total killer disc! If you love PoS, you'll love these guys. Def supporting their tour, can't wait to see them at PPUSA.
