Tora Streaming New Songs Online

Former members from Overstrained and Tarpitorchestra have joined forces with former Requiem drummer Jari Huttunen and vocalist Iiro Rantahalvari in a brand new thrash / groove metal band called Tora.

The band recently finished recording for its first promotional EP called "New Anatomy" and is now currently seeking a label. During the recordings, the band members filmed a music video for the song "Icon," which can be streamed via Reverbnation, along with the rest of the songs from the promotional EP. Tora also issued the following statement about its history:

"The timeline with the history of a band called Tora can be traced back as far as year 1996 when there were two young metalhead-teenagers blundering theirselves in a local band contest held in Pattijoki, north of Finland. The metalheads (Deimos and Mutu) had a chat and were sober enough to swap their phonenumbers with each other and also the tinnitus at the time was not too severe that they were able to have somewhat human-like conversations every now and then, which eventually lead to the collective idea of creating some metal-ish music together. Almost 15 years passed since the notorious band contest until same metalheads were relocated in same town, Oulu, and the almost-forgotten conception of spawning some progressive metal-influenced thrash-metal-musical ogre together had been haunting deep within their minds all these years apart, they had the balls and the grit for giving it the final tap it needed to unfold to be a gruesome time -and money-consuming horridly laughing, stinky, hairy gob of a band...Tora was summoned to rise from the barracks of abandoned military base, Hiukkavaara.

"The band started to take its shape as these above mentioned not-so-young-anymore metalheads- Kimmo and Matti - found the right guys to the bands line-up as Iiro took over the bands main vocalist duties with his thunderous vocals and Samu started to generate hellish rumble with his earthquake-like bass patterns. Time passed and the squirrels started to fall from the trees until Jari appeared with his monster drumkit to the depths of Hiukkavaara and began to create fierce, mortar-like roar with his lightning-fast rapid drum firing. The beast has risen."
