Novembers Doom Posts "Zephyr" Video
Ready for new Novembers Doom? The "Hamartia" album follows 2014 full-length release "Bled White" (reviewed here) and will see official release on April 14th, 2017. Pre-orders are online now at this location.
As we approach that release date, today a music video for album track "Zephyr" comes online and can be seen below.
Vocalist Paul Kuhr commented to TeamRock.com about the track:
"The entire album of Hamartia is based on relationships, and I took a different approach for some of it’s lyrical content. I wrote certain songs through the eyes of other people, who are very close to me in my life, keeping it all very personal. 'Zephyr' is one song written though the eyes of my daughter, and after watching her struggle with a demon she’s had for years, it was a way for me to put into words what I have witnessed all along. It’s about standing up, calling it out for what it is, and doing what needs to be done to move forward with her life." More...

Diamond Head Tops Off 70,000 Tons Of Metal 2016
The 2016 installment of 70,000 Tons of Metal will set sail tomorrow. Promoters UMC have declared the event a sell out and announced that the final act added to the bill is legendary UK act Diamond Head.
Metal Underground.com will be on board for the cruise and will provide coverage in the form of daily show reports, photo galleries and a four part video series featuring performance clips and other antics from each day.
70,000 Tons of Metal 2016 will sails from February 4th-8th from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and return to Jamaica with a stop at Falmouth.
The festival will board a new vessel, the second in as many years: The Independence of the Seas (via Royal Caribbean). The ship will accommodate four stages: The Alhambra Theater is a five-story concert hall in which they spare no expense to remove part of the (very comfortable) seating so you have a real Mosh Pit on the High Seas; The more intimate Egyptian themed Pyramid Lounge offers the local club atmosphere; The third indoor stage is in Studio B, the ice skating rink featuring a maritime version of the Arena experience and last but not least their jewel: The Pool Deck stage - The World’s Biggest Open Air Stage Structure to ever sail the Open Seas, surrounded by multiple bars and pools, plenty of room to sunbathe on several decks and even hot tubs incorporated into the Pool Deck stage to soak in while you watch the shows!
The All-Star Jam band, which returned this past January will also be back, led by Annihilator's Jeff Waters and members from the various acts aboard performing cover tunes live.
In addition, the ship will broadcast the upcoming Super Bowl between the Carolina Panthers v. Denver Broncos live on Sunday, February 7, 2016.
If you missed out on this year, be sure to check out information on the event over at 70000tons.com.

Novembers Doom Reveals New Album Details
Chicago outfit Novembers Doom will release a ninth studio album titled "Bled White" on July 15th, 2014 via The End Records.
The follow-up to the group’s 2011 full-length "Aphotic" was recorded at Belle City Sound with engineer Chris Wisco (Jungle Rot, Nachtmystium) handling recording and co-production duties.
Dan Swano (Bloodbath, Nightingale) spearheaded the mixing for all eleven tracks on "Bled White." The band also comments:
“Every time a band writes and records a new album, they always say things like 'This is our best yet!' and it usually isn’t. Is this our best yet? I’ll let you decide that, since opinions are all objective. What I will say is this… We approached Bled White differently than the past. We put a lot more focus on vocal melodies and harmonies this time around, creating a new soundscape for Novembers Doom.
"The music is punishing at times with my heaviest growls to date, and others will take you to a new place entirely for us exploring new ground. It’s very different at times, but it remains Novembers Doom. I won’t say it’s our best, but I’ll tell you it’s the one I’m most proud of… OK. It’s our best yet.”
The band plans to tour the U.S. and Europe in 2014 in support of this new studio release. The track listing is as follows:
01. Bled White
02. Heartfelt
03. Just Breathe
04. Scorpius
05. Unrest
06. The Memory Room
07. The Brave Pawn
