"Steel Panther ejaculates fun and latest, 'Lower the Bar,' is a testament to all that is left of today’s hard rock/metal scene."

Some of you may remember when hard rock and metal ruled the airwaves in the mid to late 80’s. Life wasn’t as complicated back then and if you ever wanted to lighten the mood even more, you tuned your FM radio to your local rock station and sang along to the latest Van Halen hit. Steel Panther ejaculates fun and latest, “Lower the Bar,” is a testament to all that is left in today’s hard rock/metal scene.

Speaking of ejaculation, the first track, “Goin in the Backdoor,” nails you in the butt right out of the gate and is par for the course Steel Panther. No lyrical content is too raunchy or off limits. For example, “Goin' in the backdoor, getting in no matter what. Goin' in the backdoor, a little bit muddy but it sure ain't shut.” Only Steel Panther could make this shit up.

My favorite song has to be “Pussy Ain’t Free” due to… well… I’ll just say there’s truth in poetry but the close second would have to be the cover of “She’s Tight” by Cheap Trick. Not only is this the perfect song for Steel Panther to cover, Robin Zander sings on it!

“Lower the Bar," like the previous Steel Panther releases, showcases some top notch musicianship. If you’re going to spoof on every popular glam band, you'd better bring it every album and Steel Panther raised the bar on this one.

Highs: The album is loaded with fun to sing out loud and embarass your friends in public type songs.

Lows: How long until the next album comes out?

Bottom line: Steel Panther isn’t for everyone, but mainly for those that have a sense of perverted humor and miss the best and worst of the Sunset Strip.
