“Breathe Into Emptiness,” a new song from Pittsburgh-based melodic thrash metallers Crown the Lost can be heard on the band’s Myspace page. The song comes from the group’s upcoming third album, “Cold Pestilent Hope,” which will be released in 2011 through an as-yet determined label. The album will be the first to feature new singer Leon Mallah, bassist Timothy Boyle, and drummer Argel Marchelletta, and was produced/engineered by Dave Watson at Soundscape Studios in East McKeesport, PA.
Commented guitarist/founding member David E. Gehlke, “Since this is our maiden recording voyage with not only Leon, but an entire new rhythm section, it became readily apparent that ‘Breathe’ was the right song to introduce them to the metal public. Anytime a new singer is brought in there’s a certain degree of trepidation, yet Leon squashed those concerns rather quickly. So, by our humble, yet horribly-biased perspective, this is the next logical step from our previous album, ‘Blind Faith Loyalty.’ As such, we are too enthusiastic for words as to how ‘Cold Pestilent Hope’ turned out, and we hope everyone will feel the same way upon its eventual release next year.”
Here's the “Cold Pestilent Hope” tracklisting:
1. Pray For Death
2. Separate Blood From Waste
3. Breathe Into Emptiness
4. In Defiance of Sanctity
5. Solitude and Failure
6. Eyes Without Sight
7. Bloodsoaked Serenity
9. Cold Pestilent Hope
10. Forgotten and Damned
Crown the Lost’s previous album, “Blind Faith Loyalty,” was released in May of 2009 through Italy’s Cruz del Sur Music.

3 Inches of Blood has teamed back up with director Rick Podd (The Watcher, Hellraiser), who previously shot the “Battles and Brotherhood” video, to shoot a new clip for the track “Silent Killer.” The video has been banned by MTV for its bloody content, so the clip is now available through Bloody Disgusting, and can be viewed below.
Shane Clark (guitars) states: “The concept of the song is about an assassin, so naturally we first thought of a concept featuring an assassin going around doing what they do, but in a style that is more influenced by movies that we liked. At first we thought about a simple performance style video but we've done that a few times and this seemed like a much more entertaining thing for us and our fans. Therefore, we brainstormed a bunch of ideas with Rick Podd and thought of our own killing scenes. I wanted to get poisoned and puke blood and vomit all over the place, and after that it was all in the hands of Rick.
"I really had a good time with the acting stuff; it was great to work with Chris Valago as well. Some know him as the Heathen from Zimmer's Hole, he's the big FX banana in the Vancouver TV & Film industry, more importantly he's a good friend of mine so we got to sit and plan out the puking at great length, I'm really happy with how that turned out. As for the entire final product, I'm very happy with it, having everyone work together on something and have it turn out great is really satisfying.” More...
Thurisaz has issued the following update about Paul Kuhr and Thomas A.G. Jensen performing guest spots on the band's upcoming album:
"Proudly we announce Paul Kuhr from Novembers Doom (US) and Thomas A.G. Jensen from Saturnus (DK) did some excellent guest vocals on our upcoming album called 'The Cimmerian Years.' We know both Paul and Thomas from tours in Europe and The States we did in the past. It’s a real honour to have them both on our new record. Paul has one of the best and powerful grunts of the metal scene and Thomas has a voice with a lot of emotion and depth in his spoken word and grunt. Paul will appear on the song called 'Last Goodbye.' Thomas will appear on the song 'A Glance of Misperception.'"
Guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn of San Francisco Bay Area group Machine Head had his home broken into between 1:15 PM and 3:15 PM PST on September 7th, 2010. Flynn and his family were not present during the invasion, and many items were stolen from his home. These items include the guitar that Flynn recorded Machine Head's first album, "Burn My Eyes," with, a gifted guitar from late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, and Flynn’s son Zander’s mini Flying V; a gift he received from his family for Christmas. Other items stolen include Flynn’s wife’s jewelry, laptops, wakeboards, and cash.
"I am offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the black Ibanez Strat along with many stickers, a ‘Designated Drinker’ sticker,” announces Flynn. "Additionally, I am offering a $2,000 reward for the safe return of the blue Washburn Dimebolt prototype. An APB has been put out to every Guitar Center in Northern California and the police were able to get several fingerprints off of the two acoustics that the thieves handled, yet bizarrely left behind. Sightings of two suspicious vehicles have been reported, one a green/teal U.S.-make pickup truck, the other a white full-size work van. If anyone sees or hears of anything on Craigslist, eBay, at their guitar shop... anything, anywhere, Please contact us at email@example.com immediately."

Mark founded MaYaN together with Jack Driessen (ex AFTER FOREVER) and Frank Schiphorst, named after the wise and rich mayan culture."
"There was only one record label we wanted to sign with: Nuclear Blast, so we didn't even look for other companies to work with and we're very happy that this appreciation is mutual," Mark says and announces: "The debut album will be recorded and mixed at the end of the year 2010 and the beginning of 2011 by Sascha Paeth (who produced the former EPICA records as well). We're also stoked to announce that Jeroen Paul Thesseling (PESTILENCE, OBSCURA), known for his signature six-string fretless playing in progressive death metal, will join as permanent member on bass guitar. Also Isaac Delahaye and Arien van Weesenbeek (EPICA) will complete the line up!"

"Unfortunately we've had to cancel the start of our tour due to lack of money. Our earnings were drastically cut and we couldn't afford to do it, what with the renting of a van etc. So our tour is kicking off with Wreck Of The Minotaur in London on September 30th! Liam has been, and still is, on holiday at the moment, so the rest of us have been practicing at home and trying to get ourselves ready for our longest tour to date. I think we're all gonna be spending some of our earnings on new/more equipment. I know I'm looking forward to playing on non-broken cymbals!
"A week going up and down the country with The Bridal Procession should be ace, we're all really looking forward to playing with those guys and Heights. Galleons are on a few of the shows as well, and we've got some more tours lined up with them for next year already. I've been chatting to a few of them and they seem safe boys. Heavy drinkers and smokers by all accounts, so I suppose we'll have to be out partying every night... Oh it's a hard life ain't it, haha. More...
