Oceano Comments On Upcoming Tour Dates

Chicago deathcore act Oceano is gearing up for a European tour with Louisiana metallers IWrestledABearOnce. The "Ruining Earth For Everybody" tour kicks off this Friday, September 7th in Karlsruhe, Germany, and also features Vanna and For All Those Sleeping. The tour will be Oceano's second ever visit to Europe. Oceano frontman Adam Warren comments:

"Almost a month following our 'comeback', we got an amazing call. It was the offer for Oceano to tour with IWABO. Of course, we immediately said yes, still not knowing we'd be graced with doing TWO back-to-back tours in two months with them. Upon finding this out, we all simultaneously vomited and shit our pants in pure excitement! It was a full body explosion from almost every orifice.

"Aside from my gratuitous bodily fluid references, I (along with the other members of Oceano) have loved the IWABO folks since we first met and toured with them oh so long ago on our first European tour (Never Say Die). A solid mutual respect and friendship was formed and we are really excited to be reunited with plenty of time to get stupid with each other.

"We were also very stoked to find out our very close partners in PARTY and friends, Within The Ruins will be joining us on the US side of touring with IWABO. This is going to be a long but unforgettable fun couple of months for everyone! See you all soon!"

Headline News

Paul Gray's Physician Charged With Manslaughter

The Des Moines Register has reported that Daniel Baldi was charged with several counts of involuntary manslaughter for the crime of allegedly over-prescribing painkillers to patients who subsequently passed away after overdosing.

Among the deaths that lead to the charges was that of Slipknot's Paul Gray, who died in 2010. Slipknot has now issued the following statement about the development:

"As the loss of our brother Paul Gray is still very fresh for us in the Slipknot family, this new development has us all in a state of anger and sadness. The fact that this person took advantage of our brother’s illness while he was in a position to help others has outraged everyone in our family.

"We can only hope that justice will be served so this can NEVER happen to anyone else ever again! Our thoughts go out to the families of the other victims. We plan to cooperate as much as we possibly can to ensure this tragedy is never repeated, and to make sure this man pays for what he has done."

Behold The Arctopus Reveals New Album Details

Black Market Activities presents the return of Behold The Arctopus. Marking the start of a new era for the band, Behold The Arctopus' second full-length, "Horrorscension," is set for an October 23rd release. The following press release was issued about the album:

"In the five years since their last album, Skullgrid, much has transpired in the Behold The Arctopus camp. 12-string Warr guitarist Colin Marston expanded his musical outlets, founding avant-black metal band Krallice and joining progressive death metal legends Gorguts. In addition to his playing, Marston increased his output as a recording engineer, helping create albums for such artists as Kayo Dot, Orthrelm, Jarboe, and Altar of Plagues. Original drummer Charlie Zeleny dearted, to be replaced by the prolific Weasel Walter, renowned for his long-running band The Flying Luttenbachers and his widespread collaborations in the free jazz, noise, and metal genres.

"Horrorscension is the inaugural release of the new Behold The Arctopus lineup -- Marston, Walter, and unholy shredder Mike Lerner on guitar. (In the spirit of defining Horrorscension as the beginning of a new era for the band, the ellipsis ["..."] is being removed from the band name.) In crafting Horrorscension, Behold The Arctopus employed their signature method of composing the music in written form before ever playng it."

Marston elaborates: "Since our music is written down and then learned, like classical music, we're never actually building songs based on our playing ability. It's very different from jamming out a bunch of riffs." More...

Code For Silence Announces Digital Album Release

Finland's Code For Silence has issued the following announcement about a digital release for the "Eyes World Shut" album:

"Ave folks,

"In order to be able to focus on future releases we've decided to release Eyes World Shut (with help of Inverse Records) only in digital format for now. The main reasons for this conclusion as follows:

- We're not able to sign a (reasonable) record deal.
- The music industry of today claims a high profile marketing to stand out from a crowd and to sell actual CDs - what we're not able to contribute on our own.
- What we believe at the moment is the social networks and the internet in general to be the easiest and the most effective portals for us to get more known and to get closer the future collaborations.
- And finally, we think you have waited enough!

"The album release date is the 5th of October! Detailed info coming later!"

New Keepers Of The Water Towers Issues Update

Main songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Rasmus of Sweden's New Keepers Of The Water Towers has issued the following update regarding the long-awaited third album from the celebrated stoner rock outfit:

"For the past year and a half we have been working in and out of the studio on this, our third, album. It's been a long process of developing and enriching our music with more genre defying sounds, dark lyrics about life and death, a lot of experimenting with musical directions and tinkering with richer harmonic arrangements. To put it bluntly, we've been recording an epic. None of us have ever put this much effort and emotion into a piece of music so it means a lot to us and now that we are in the final steps of recording we feel very proud of what we have accomplished and I don't think there is any doubt in our minds that we have succeeded in creating the album we set out to record."

Song titles to be featured on the upcoming album include "Visions of Death," "Cosmic Child," "He Who Greets With Fire" and "The Great Leveler." A spring 2013 release through Listenable Records has been scheduled for the album. Video footage of the band performing "Rise of the Lizard King" at Roskilde Festival 2010 has been posted at this location.
