Switzerland’s death/grind maniacs Mumakil have entered the studio to record their third full-length album and first record in four years. The album is being self-recorded by the band at Terrier 5 in Geneva, Switzerland and will feature 24 brand new tracks of brutal grindcore with more of a death metal influence than previous release "Behold The Failure."

“This will be our best album in terms of production, riff quality, variation and songwriting. It is going to be a great mix between everything we love in grindcore & death-metal with subjects like war, anger, pain, personal experiences and deceptions, and an overall theme about mankind's permanent will to destroy itself.”
The as-yet-untitled album is set for an early 2013 release via Relapse Records and the band plans to tour in Europe and Canada following the release. More details will be announced shortly.

"Now in their twenty-third year as a band, and having sold over a million records worldwide to date, this next step in the band’s process was produced by founding member René Rutten, mainly taking place in the The Gathering’s own home studio, with segments recorded at additional studios abroad, the final product then mixed by Guido Aalbers (Coldplay, Muse, Counting Crows, 16 Horsepower). This is the worldwide renowned outfit’s second album with Norwegian vocalist Silje Wergeland — who debuted her talents on their The West Pole LP released in 2009 – her sensual vocals for the new album recorded by Herbrand Larsen of Enslaved. The handcrafted cover art was created by Chilean artist Carlos Vergara Rivera."
“Disclosure is the most personal soundscape the band has ever made, both lyrically and musically,” stated The Gathering keyboardist Frank Boeijen, who presents himself vocally for the first time on Disclosure. “The album is a great marriage between electronic and organic sounds, and has a wide range of colorful songs. With long, epic songs, we stayed close to ourselves. We are incredibly proud of this album which is a reflection of what we do best, and our urge for experimentation. Every band says the same thing about their new album, but we think we’ve made our best album yet.” More...

"Static Involution" is the premiere track from Decline Of The I's upcoming debut album "Inhibition," due out on September 25th in Europe and November the 6th in North America via Agonia Records. You can stream the track in the player available below. Agonia Records also commented:
"Inhibition is a bold conjunction of quality Post-modern Black Metal influences: the band describes itself as a mix between Burzum, Neurosis and Code. At the same time, Inhibition is the first part of a trilogy that attach great importance to atmosphere as well as heavy, oppressive and neurasthenic sounds.
"The project is led by A.K. - a musician known from a vast number of cognoscible underground metal acts such as Vorkreist, Merrimack, Neo Inferno 262, Malhkebre, Diapsiquir, etc. He is responsible for guitars, keyboards, programming, samples and vocals."
Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth has posted a new blog online discussing the band's upcoming new album "The Manticore and Other Horrors," which is due out on October 30th, 2012. You can read the full blog right here or catch this excerpt from Dani:
"Greetings fellow munchkins, At last I can verify that the witch is dead. The album is finished, and indeed finally titled; The Manticore and Other Horrors is officially signed, sealed and delivered to the Devil's doorstep with a note written in spidery ink apologising for the delay.
"Of which there was basically none come to think of it, as we worked like the damned to bring this album kicking and screaming into being over the last few months. With the fulfillment of the vocals at Springvale studios, we reconvened at Scott Atkin's Grindstone studios (newcomer Daniel Firth having just finished his bass off), to tackle a mix that had already been pre-waxed extensively into shape, and to finish what choir and female vocals were left to undertake, for what I call on this album, the evil faerie-dusting.
"Then it was three weeks deep (separated by a Hellgig weekend) locked away in the verdant Suffolk countryside gently coaxing our Frankenstein to life, assailed by some of the strangest weather an English July has ever seen, nibbling ever further and further into the mix as the heavens violated the earth. Goddamn that outside toilet!
"So here and now, with Bod as my witness, I can truly say that The Manticore and Other Horrors sounds fxxking awesome, a real noticeable twist in tone but all the better for it. It's ornate, taut, punk and aggressive but very much the neo-classical whore of yore, spitting raw bloody fury through the maw of the majestic. But I would say that, I've had a firm hand in it's oily whelping! More...

Today Pitchfork hosts the exclusive premiere of “The Fate of Souls After Death” from U.K. black metal horde Winterfylleth. Give the song a listen right here.
The track comes off the band’s forthcoming "The Threnody of Triumph" full-length, which was recorded in Wales with producer Chris Fielding (Primordial, Electric Wizard). The album is set to drop on September 25th, 2012. Comments guitarist/vocalist C. Naughton:
“’The Fate of Souls…’ is probably one of the darker songs we have written as a band. Its concept is self evident from its title in that it is about what happens to the soul after death and how the essence of a human is transported onwards. The song is a personal favorite and may be a bit of a curveball in terms of the usual Winterfylleth sound. The riffs are darker and more swirling, the vocals are probably the gruffest I have recorded and the vibe is quite off kilter and a little more progressive than some of our other material. I hope you enjoy it."
Adds Pitchfork: “About halfway through ‘The Fate of Souls After Death,’ a late-album highlight from The Threnody of Triumph… the band slows the black-metal pummel upon which the track has depended. The drums drop into a half-time march, and the guitars relax their harsh roar, riffs etching harmonies against a background wall of distortion. But don't coast into reverie quite yet: Winterfylleth break the séance with fury, panic screams, and united-in-rage guitars that clash with the blurred drums for a perfect, primal burnout. The antiphonal, fast-slow-fast structure is a familiar trick of so-called atmospheric black metal; Winterfylleth just work to ensure that the atmosphere is as damaged as possible.” More...
Century Media is proud to announce the signing of Washington state based metal quintet, Into the Flood. Formed in the winter of 2010, the band came together to combine a vast array of influences to create a punishing blend of brutal metal and post hardcore. Century Media issued the following statement:
"For the past few years, they were the go-to local band asked to open up for nationally touring artists passing through Pacific Northwest. Sharing the stage with such bands as DEMON HUNTER, HATE ETERNAL and GOATWHORE, they were tipped off to Century Media from a Seattle promoter. Shortly after that, a label representative reached out, negotiations were made and a deal was signed.
"The band recently debuted a video for the track, 'The Destroyer,' which can be seen below. The song will be re-recorded for their debut album, which they are set to begin recording with producer Aaron Smith (JEFF LOOMIS, 7 HORNS 7 EYES) this week." More...
