This October, Selfmadegod Records will unload new full-length album "Them" - the first release from U.K. hardcore punk act Satanic Malfunctions in over twenty-two years. "Them" will be on the loose October 1st in Europe and October 15th in North America. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"The newest Satanic Malfunctions LP since the Scarborough, UK-based act's 1990-released Disgrace To Humanity, the whirlwind of old-school hardcore punk on Them is a throwback to the mid-late '80s hardcore scene when the grindcore was only beginning to take shape. Raging with twenty tracks in just over thirty minutes, recorded by Bri Doom, of UK crust legends, Doom, Them proves that the quartet -- vocalist Kai, guitarist Yaga, bassist Ryan and drummer Ade -- haven't let their guard down, and are as capable of deploying the same aggressive, ultra-fast and frenzied socio-political musical melee they did more than two decades ago. A must-have for diehards of Active Minds, Disorder, Doom, Atavistic, Electro Hippies, L'arm and Heresy."
The track listing is:

Veteran alternative metal act, Ra, has announced an October 15th, 2013 release date for "Critical Mass," the band's fourth studio album and first since 2008. "Critical Mass" also marks the return of the band's original lineup - guitarist/vocalist Sahaj Ticotin, bassist P.J. Farley, guitarist Ben Carrol, and drummer Skoota Warner.
"I believe this record to be the most complete album we've ever made, but also the heaviest," said Ticotin. "There is a conscious effort here to be more respectful of hard rock/metal roots and less on being too touchy feely. I really wanted this record to feel intense, even on the more light hearted songs. For once I don't feel as if I compromised on any aspect of the writing for this record."
Always known for having a passionate, supportive fan base, "Critical Mass" was funded by a Kickstarter.com campaign that helped raise over $32,000 to record and press the album.
"The Kickstarter was a surprise on many levels," added Ticotin. "Not only in the amount of money we raised, but mainly in the intensity of the demand. People were genuinely aggressive about making sure we made another record. As cliché as it sounds, without that level of energy, I don't know how well this record would have come out. Their passion directly inspired the songs on this record from beginning to end. It is truly amazing."
Toronto’s thrash party monsters Fatality recently wrapped up their two-month North American “Towards Disastour” in support of latest album, "Psychonaut."
Vocalist Spencer Le Von has again checked in with Dead Rhetoric.com about the band's days in Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC and why he's “A lover not a fighter, also not a lover." Excerpts are available below, or you can read the full tour blog at this location.
How come there are so many gorgeous people living in big cities? Do all of the attractive people in each part of the country just decide to live within the same 10 blocks of each other at all times? Do they do it just so they can be close enough to one another to share jeggings and hair care tips? I love the looks on everyone’s gorgeous and well-maintained faces when we pull up in our huge tour van and the door swings open to let loose a pile of degenerate Canadian degenerate slobs.
When we are driving through an area highly populated by the genetically advantaged, like all groups of men in each other’s company, we always start yelling the vilest shit. The kind of irredeemable comments that would make you lose your job mopping up a porno theatre. This is particularly so when the windows are rolled up and everyone is in a good mood. It’s kind of just what guys do, because deep down, all men are monsters. My favourite moment is when someone in the van sees a pair of nice legs further down the road and comments on them, only for them to turn out to be that of a man, or worse: it’s a girl that’s way too young. That’s an awkward moment ain’t it? “Dudes look at that girl all the way down the street at the cross walk. That chicks a 10!” “Bro, I’m pretty sure she IS 10.” Good from far, far from good.More...

The record was then mastered by Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts) at The Thousand Caves Studios, Brooklyn, in August 2013. More album details will be revealed shortly."
Vocalist Doug Moore also commented on the signing: "When I was 15, I bought a copy of Relapse's Contaminated 5.0 sampler CD. TesseracT have posted their video for the track "Nocturne," taken from the latest album, "Altered State" (see review here). The video was directed by Ben Thornley for Sitcom Soldiers.
The band commented on the video: "As we haven't taken part in our promo videos for a while we felt now was the time to make an appearance. But, we also wanted to create a journey with the video that was similar to the journey portrayed by the music. A pretty straightforward step from the night, what it hides and the fear it generates, into the reassurance and safety of the dawn. We have always really liked the idea of creating silhouettes (we tried to something similar with our first video, "Deception"), so we decided upon using back lights for the majority of the video, which is then reversed when the feeling of the music changes towards the end of the track. We feel the guys at Sitcom Soldiers have really captured the mood of the song, and also produced a video that draws you in."
Ben Thornley who produced the video for Sitcom Soldiers states: "Working with TesseracT for us was about capturing something which did a great song justice with a memorable performance, whilst providing an equally provocative atmospheric narrative. The band naturally looked great and the creative process went very smoothly and shows in the final video."

Let's once again take a look at my former residence of Costa Rica as we bring you a scene report from this Central American country. In the past forty years, travelers from all over have been making it a vacation hotbed. Celebrities own homes there, drawn in by the fabulous ocean, weather, mountains and night life. Many metal bands also make Central and South America prerequisite stops on their tours now. Even bands with little or no label support are financing small club gigs and have made Costa Rica one of their stops. More...

The album is set for release via Frontiers Records on November 29th (EU) and December 3rd (North America). The track list and album art can be seen over at this location. The album will be available in standard CD as well as a lavish digipak edition including an exclusive bonus DVD shot during the band’s last tour.
"A Life to Die For" is the band's 12th studio release, and it is a concept album not in the lyrical sense, but musically, which sees the band expand their musical boundaries and bring their symphonic and grandiose musical element to the max employing a large number of classical/orchestra players in the studio as well as a large choir.
Once again the band's U.S. singer DC Cooper will see his trademark vocals shine throughout the songs penned by keyboard maestro Andre Andersen. The song writing and performances represent Royal Hunt at it's symphonic best
Andersen commented on the album: "This album is all that any fan of this kind of music might dream about: strong songs with huge choruses, infectious riffs, technical yet memorable instrumental parts, stellar production this time mighty reinforced by classical instruments and – of course - instantly recognizable style."

U.K. based symphonic metal act Damnation Angels parted ways with keyboardist Daniel Saunders. The band is set to embark on the first European Tour this coming November and guitarist Will Graney is set to play the keyboards as well live, if the band is unable to find a replacement.
In a statement on the band's Facebook page, Graney stated: "Hello everyone, a personal statement here from Will! I'd just like to announce that we are parting ways with Keyboardist Daniel Saunders. Things just didn't work out and that's the nature of this business I'm afraid. As we always say, good luck in the future. This will not effect anything upcoming so don't worry about the tour or the album! It's all still going ahead.
"People seem to come and go a lot in this industry but the key is Me, John, PelleK and Stephen are as a band and friends stronger than ever. We will consider a keyboardist to join this family but it has to be the right person this time. So we will take our time and 'I hope' we will find that person. Feel free to send us a message if you're interested to firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Until then or maybe indefinitely, I will be taking care of keyboards live as well as guitars and like I said this doesn't effect anything SO SEE YOU ON THE ROAD IN NOVEMBER, WHEN EUROPE DESCENDS INTO DARKNESS...."
Warlord mainman Bill Tsamis announced that the band will not be fronted by Arrayan Path vocalist Nicholas Leptos. Officially, Rick Anderson (who sang on the latest LP "The Holy Empire") and Dragonsclaw frontman Giles Lavery (who sang on "Kill Zone" from "The Holy Empire" and filled in for the band on its recent European Tour and upcoming DVD release) are out of the band.
The announcement reads: "Warlord will be now fronted by Arrayan Path main man Nicholas Leptos. Although Rick Anderson did a phenomenal job for us on The Holy Empire and Giles Lavery performed extremely well during the Warlord shows in April 2013, I have had my eye on Nicholas Leptos now for a long time for a few reasons: (1) The music for the next Warlord album will offer a heavier, epic power metal soundscape in which the voice of Nicholas will elevate our sound into a whole new realm. His vocals are ideal for the powerful epic material that I am composing for the next Warlord album. (2) Nicholas has also proven that he can perfectly cover every Warlord singer "live." In short, Nicholas Leptos will not only be able to carry Warlord into an even more epic future, but he will also be able to present the classic Warlord material in a "live context," perfectly covering every Warlord vocalist that has come before him. Needless to say, we are very excited to have Nicholas on board. In a word, he is the ideal Damien King that we had been looking for since the inception of Warlord. "Injuries due to his latest car accident are aggravated and he still at the hospital. David wont be able to play for a while and as consequences will not be with the band when they leave Montreal tomorrow.
"Necronomicon will NOT cancel the tour and the band is working hard to find an alternative on how to fill the bass spot in the short amount of time left before the tour starts.
"Hang it there David. Thanks for your support."
