"Formed in Belgrade, Serbia, under the name Stone to Flesh in 1996, The Stone has, since its inception, grown to become an internationally recognized Black Metal band with a plethora of releases, tours, festivals and live appearances under its belt. The Stone's first full-length album 'Some Wounds Bleed Forever' appeared on CCP records in 2000 and was followed by several more releases before the band came to the attention of the cult German label Folter Records in 2006. In a move that was to bring The Stone to the attention of fans world-wide, Folter released the band’s fourth full length album 'Magla.'
"Over the next few years there were releases and re-release of more material in different formats, including the 'Live Curse from the East' DVD, but essentially The Stone spent this time building on the success of 'Magla' and becoming more and more familiar to concert goers thanks to their dynamic live performances. 2009 saw the release of the band’s fifth full length album 'Umro' on Folter Records, and their sixth full length album 'Golet' appeared in late 2011, once again on Folter Records and showed the band at its most mature and skilled to date, with praise being heaped on the album from journalists and fans alike.
"The Stone’s current lineup comprises Nefas on Vocals, Kozeljnik and Demonetras on Guitars, L.G. on Drums and Usud on Bass Guitar. More information about The Stone can be found on the band’s website at this location." More...

Germany's Over Your Threshold has posted an album trailer featuring excerpts of all songs taken off new album "Facticity." Watch the video below and also make sure to check out the band's Metal Blade landing page right here. Over Your Threshold comments on the album and new single:
"The writing and recording process of 'Facticity' has extended over a longer period. Thus, each song imparts different elements and impressions caused by our different musical influences in the course of time. 'Contextual Fluctuating' is the last track we wrote for 'Facticity.' It's pretty complex on the guitars and shows the progress of our songwriting compared to the older songs of the album. The concept of the song is that both guitars permanently play quite different riffs but all in all it fits together. That's a stylistic element we will use more and more for future songs. This change in the songwriting is reflected in the lyrics as well. All things are fluctuating over time, nothing remains quiescent - everything changes with a new context."

Svart Records has issued the following press release about inking a deal with Finnish act Convulse:
"One of the most memorable pioneers of Finnish first-wave death metal, Convulse was there in 1990 alongside bands such as Xysma, Disgrace, and Abhorrence to create a scene which was to become legendary. Formed in Nokia in early 1990, the band was quickly snapped up by Thrash Records from France, and the future cult classic World Without God appeared a year later.
"After an 18-year break, Convulse returned in 2012 and played a few comeback shows in Finland this year. The band has already been confirmed to play Maryland Deathfest 2013, with more live appearances in the works for the near future. A new Convulse vinyl EP, with two brand-new tracks, is scheduled for a November release, and a new full-length album can be expected in 2013. The band has signed to Svart Records, who will handle both the EP and the album worldwide."
"Our new material has a strong old school death metal feel to it, and the band is tighter than ever before," says Rami Jämsä, the man responsible for lead guitars and vocals. "When recording, we plan to concentrate on the energy brought on by playing everything live - no triggers or ProTools. Nothing beats a well-rehearsed band playing live, be it on stage or in the studio."

Further details on the global "treasure hunt" surrounding Atrocity's upcoming "Okkult" album trilogy was issued by vocalist Alex Krull in an official statement. The treasure hunt begins when one track from each of the three releases will be hidden within three continents, starting with Europe in 2013 with the release of the first "Okkult" LP. In the statement, Krull also announced that the band wished to release the first in the series on December 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar and alleged date of the apocalypse, however the date wasn't possible. Instead the band plans to release an advance of the album on that date as the soundtrack for the apocalypse.
The entire statement reads as follows:
"Here is a brand new statement by Alex Krull for the upcoming ATROCITY album trilogy 'OKKULT'! The German death metal pioneers remember not only their musical roots, but also present a specific approach to the dismal album trilogy:
"With 'OKKULT' we want to start a very special album trilogy. We have begun to work on the 'OKKULT' trilogy a long time ago. Most recently with the 'Die Gottlosen Jahre (The Godless Years)' DVD, a splendid film documentary was released commemorating our longer than 25 year career, which even now is to run at film festivals. Reason enough now to usher in a new era of ATROCITY! Musically, no prisoners will be taken, the 'OKKULT' series is also brutal, bombastic and dark. These will not only be the heaviest and most brutal albums of ATROCITY since years, but also the darkest works of our band's history. Lovers of our harder material like 'Hallucinations', 'Todessehnsucht', 'Blut' or 'Atlantis' will surely be delighted with the 'OKKULT' series at their expense, although the 'OKKULT' songs have their own trademarks, of course.
"The orchestral parts will be recorded in September by the Lingua Mortis Orchestra under the direction of Victor Smolski (Rage) in Minsk / Belarus.
"In keeping with the dark atmosphere of 'OKKULT' we got the Canadian Sound Designer Katie Halliday on board. She worked for movies like 'Saw V', 'Saw VI', 'Saw 3D (VII)', 'The Devil's Carnival' and 'Todd and the Book of Pure Evil', and already could reap some awards for her work.
"The lyrical concept is anything but one-dimensional. For 'OKKULT', we have no desire to go only in a certain direction. So the whole thing will be broadly based: From occult magic, occult places to conspiracy theories and mysteries that are still unsolved.
"For our fans, we've come up with something very special: There will be no conventional bonus tracks on the 'OKKULT' albums! In return, all fans can actively engage in a kind of treasure hunt. For the respective 'OKKULT albums, we will hide one song on an 'occult site', which is the 'missing track' to each album. For the first 'OKKULT' record that certain place will be in Europe. For the following albums the places will be on other continents, perhaps in America and Asia. l will be the only one that knows these locations. All original recording tracks and mixes of these songs will be destroyed by our own hands, that also means we as a band will also not be able to listen to these songs until they are found. They are in the truest sense of the word: Unique. If someone finds these songs, and wants to keep them for himself, then we will have have no way to listen to these songs ever again in their original form. Internally we have already had some serious discussions on what song is supposed to be hidden for the first 'OKKULT' (laughs). We will ennoble this 'treasure', to something like 'The Golden iPod', we will spare no expense or effort. More info on how it will look exactly and how you can participate in the treasure hunt, will be announced a later date. More...
Finnish melodic metal act SoulHealer announced the departure of bassist Teemu Aho, who left the band for personal reasons, but will remain as the band's webmaster. His replacement is Pasi Laakonen. The band is also working on the follow up to the 2011 self-released debut full length "The Kings of Bullet Alley," which is targeted for a Spring 2013 release.
The band's full announcement reads as follows:
"Teemu Aho is forced to quit his active commitment as bass player in SoulHealer for personal reasons. But he will continue to be a part of the family as webmaster and wherever his help is needed. Although the band was hit hard with this decision, they didn’t lose any time in looking for a replacement. Sami Mikkonen thought of his best old friend Pasi Laakkonen, who has a Garage Rock Band running with Alpha Indigo at the moment. Both already played together in some cover band projects some 10 years ago, and for the last time about 4 years ago. Pasi was invited for an audition, where he left no doubt that he his the right guy at the right place at the right time. So we welcome Pasi Laakkonen as the new bass player in SoulHealer. He will give his live debut already at the next show on 7th September at Bar Bäkkäri in Helsinki. Beside that SoulHealer are working hard on the follow up for their debut album 'The Kings Of Bullet Alley'. The song writing process is going great, and as usual every new song will be tested in the live situation. So you should not be surprised to hear some new songs on any upcoming shows. Only tracks that work live will find their way on the next SoulHealer Album. And the band is confident to have it ready and finished for a release in spring 2013 through Pure Legend Records." More...
