Tasmanian black metallers Thrall are releasing their second album, "Vermin to the Earth," worldwide on October 25th, 2011 via Moribund Cult Records, and in Australia and New Zealand through Obsidian Records.
“Vermin to the Earth is a requiem to a cursed species,” states Tom Void, guitarist and vocalist for Thrall. “It documents the metamorphosis of Thrall from a studio project to a live entity. Thrall’s live set for the last two years was mostly comprised of songs from Vermin.”
“We are also really energized to have an Australian label getting behind us for this release” states Void. “Obsidian have bridged the gap between underground authenticity and accessibility and will distribute Vermin through JB Hi-Fi.”
To promote the launch of the second album, Thrall will be playing two exclusive shows in Sydney and Melbourne with New Zealand black doom rock band, Creeping. Thrall will be bringing the band's recently expanded four-piece live line up to Sydney for the first time, the current live line up including Leigh Ritson (ex-Disseminate) on bass and Ramez Bathish (ex-Whitehorse/ABC Weapons) on guitar. Full details of the shows are available here.
Florida based act The Chaos Agent will be releasing a EP through Inzane Records this October. The EP was produced by Paul Trust (Die Cast, Atom Smash) and Matt Laplant (Bieler Bros.) and consists or five tracks, including a cover by Depeche Mode's "People Are People." Just prior to release the band will be embarking on a thirty date tour in support of Allele throughout the U.S.
Matt Zane, president of Inzane Records, commented, "The Chaos Agent is an amazing live act and I am very excited to have their EP be our official first release since re-launching Inzane Records. They are extremely dedicated musicians who are wiling to get out there on the road and gain fans show by show while promoting the new album."
You can check out songs from the EP by heading over to The Chaos Agent's Facebook profile here. The track listing is as follows:
1. Reborn (Produced By Paul Trust)
2. Travesty TV (Produced By Paul Trust)
3. Breaking The Silence (Produced By Matt Laplant)
4. Invincibility Sound (Produced By Paul Trust)
5. People Are People (Produced By Matt Laplant)
Old Silver Key, the new band consisting of four Drudkh members plus French musician Neige (ALCEST, AMESOEURS) on vocals, released the debut album "Tales of Wanderings" earlier this month in Europe and this week in North America.
To back up this ethereal collection of songs, the band entrusted another French artist to design a video clip for the song "Burnt Letters." This artist is none other than Fursy (LES DISCRETS), the man behind the amazing video clip for Ghost Brigade's "Clawmaster." Here is an early still of the video:
Death dealers Encoffination will plague the Earth with the new opus, "O' Hell, Shine In Thy Whited Sepulchres" this November. Selfmadegod Records commented on the upcoming release:
"Picking up where they left off with last year's Ritual Ascension Beyond Flesh, this collection of new hymns redefines and magnifies Encoffination's signature sound; suffocating doom wrapped in the pure stench of death.
"Based on Ghoat's own experiences of working in the funeral industry, 'O' Hell, Shine In Thy Whited Sepulchres' is a concept album... not in the linear sense, but abstract; from the death of the human form to the sacrifice of flesh into the Earth.
"The album will be released via Selfmadegod Records this November; stay tuned for an official street date and more info on this anticipated slab of bereavement as it approaches."
U.K. based act De Profundis has uploaded the first episode of the band's new video blog, which can be viewed below. This week, the guys talk about their new Mayones instruments and the episode also features some rehearsal footage of the new songs. Requests and questions to be covered in future episodes can be sent to De Profundis at band(at)deprofundistheband(dot)com.
De Profundis will begin recording the follow up to the second album “A Bleak Reflection” in November, 2011. The production duties will once again be handled by Fernando Pereira Lopes (Misanthrope, Orakle). The band will be recording 8 new songs, totaling approximately 55 minutes in length.
Shoi Sen (guitar) comments: “The writing this time was really exciting, because this line up has now been recording and touring for the last 2 years, so we have gelled a lot as a unit and this transpired in the writing. The music is faster, more technical and more condensed than in the past. We have already been playing a couple of new songs on the road and judging by the crazy reaction we get for them, I think people will get a shock when they hear this new album. We will be posting regular updates and videos snippets of new songs on our revamped Facebook page so make sure to check it out!”
Scandinavian thrash institution HateSphere is once again ready to release hell on earth with a string of European shows in order to back up the band's 7th full length, "The Great Bludgeoning" – released in North America on September 27th through Napalm Records. More European shows will be added in November and December, and the band plans to continue the touring during the spring of 2012.
To celebrate the release of the album, HateSphere is streaming two new songs from the album on the band's Facebook page here.

Torture Music Records head and founder Janis has the following to say about the signing: “I’m absolutely keen to work with these guys! I remember listening to their demo just a few months ago and was immediately blown away by how mature (and fucking brutal!) they sounded, albeit being together as a band just since early 2011. The new tracks that I’ve heard so far suggest that this upcoming album is going to kick some serious ass too, so y’all better prepare yourselves!”
Whoretopsy vocalist Matt Storma (Insidious Torture) adds: “This year has been a fucking whirlwind. Since the demo was released the response has been massive! When Janis contacted us showing a great deal of interest we couldn’t believe it. We are looking forward to working with him and TMR. Keep an eye on this sick label as its roster of brutal acts grows! As for the label’s first release.....Whoretopsy ‘They Did Unspeakable Things’.....Prepare yourselves for some nasty as fuck Aussie slam death!”

Commented Frost: "I am stoked to do this run of dates with my brothers in Armored Saint. This is a killer paring for the East Coast, but for me it’s a dream come true. Not only am I a fan of Saint’s music, but there are so many family ties with those guys since Joey Vera for several years played bass -- on albums and live -- in Seven Witches and he has mastered, engineered, and/or mixed on all the Witches albums since Exiled To Infinity And One in 2002. It's gonna be a fun night and Witches will try our best to warm you all up for the mighty Saint. This is also a very special for us because it will be a one-time run with this special lineup. We will be playing new music from our latest album Call Upon The Wicked, the classics we are known for, plus dusting off a few we haven’t played in a while." More...

"The band now features the addition of the haunting female vocals of Aziza A. Poggi from the American prog metal band Dendura and the special guests V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) and Karl Sanders (Nile).
"Others guest musicians to appear on the upcoming release are: Nacho Hernándes, multi-instrumentalist of the spanish band Vihmana (a death/doom project with gothic, ambient and ethnic music influences) and vocalist of the death/doom band LaDOLOROSA, composer of the instrumental interlude on the track 'Inseparable In Death;' Wilmar Taal, who is releasing the first album with his electronic project Dead Romero, called 'Rite' (with a guest performance by Erol Unala from Apollyon Sun & Celtic Frost), and plays bass on the track 'Sekhmet's Breath;' and Marcos Jabah from the brazilian power metal band Neckbreaker, who sings on the track 'Fiery Embrace.'

Pagan's Mind vocalist Nils K. Rue has checked in with the following announcement about missing three upcoming shows:
"Dear friends, as you might know, we are off to do the 'Revelation to 2012' European tour together with Symphony X on Wednesday 28th of September, and travel for over three weeks covering most of Western Europe. We can´t wait to see you all again, it will be a blast!
"Due to unforeseen circumstances that popped up just a few weeks ago and can not be solved in a different way, I won´t be able to do three of the shows. I will do the shows in Hamburg and Bochum (the first two dates of the tour), but the next three German gigs (C-Club in Berlin, Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg and Backstage Halle in Munich) will be with someone else behind the microphone. This is the first time ever I have had to ask for help, but this is the only solution right now as I don't want the band to cancel these important shows. And hopefully - though I know we have found the right solution - it will be the last time I need assistance. More...
Folk metal band Eluveite checked in from the studio on the progress of the recording of the forthcoming LP "Helvetios" with the following:
"We are really happy and proud to announce we could win our desired candidate over for those parts: The brilliant scottish actor Alexander “Sandy” Morton (66). He might be known to you from some of his latest movies, such as 'Valhalla Rising' or 'London to Brighton.' With his deep, rough and orotund voice he’s just perfect for 'Helvetios.'
"Alexander ‘Sandy’ Morton in 'Valhalla Rising'
"Last Friday I conducted the recording of the spoken parts in London. Everything went well and I just can say that it was a real pleasure to work with Sandy. Besides the fact that he’s a really nice fella, he turned out to be great and professional to work with. He empathised with the characters dealt with on „Helvetios“ and he really got the spirit and experienced the lyrics.
Well, the result I just can describe as: Fucking epic shit!
"I’d like to thank Sandy again for an awesome performance here, and also thanks to everybody at Earache Voices.
"So, one more little part of our upcoming album is recorded, one more tessella is set!"

Germ is the solo project of Tim Yatras (Austere, Grey Waters, Woods Of Desolation, ex-Nazxul, etc) and has an upcoming debut album titled "Wish." Preliminary mixes from the album for
“Your Smile Mirrors The Sun” and “Asteroids Of Sorrow” can be streamed via the Germ Facebook profile. The band's publicist also commented on Germ:
"The debut album, 'Wish,' is a journey into a twisted mind. From horrific shrieks to beautiful vocal melodies, from ferocious blast beats to haunting atmospheric passages and everything in between, Wish is everything fans of an emotive style of heavy music could have hoped for. A bright, bizarre and simultaneously catchy fusion of elegant heavy rock music, furious back metal moments, Jean-Michel Jarre-influenced electronics and even classical influences. The voyage lasts for over 40 minutes, breaking through genres and niches, without losing touch to elegant and remarkable epicness, that covers the entire album. Prepare to feel dazed and attracted.
"Germ was conceived in 2003 to create something that combined the atmospheric black metal and rock for which Yatras is known with his love of classical, pop and electronic styles of music combined with a striking visual aspect to accompany that music. In 2006, a three-song EP was recorded, but never released. One track from the EP, 'Raving Mad With Sadness,' was uploaded to MySpace, and to this day gains considerable praise. This early song shows glimpses of what was to come, featuring an extended electronic breakdown and clean vocals mixed with Tim’s hellish shrieks. After this song appeared, things again fell silent.
"After almost three years of inactivity, Yatras entered SLS studios in October 2009 to begin tracking Germ’s debut full-length album. However, not long after, Yatras was again focused on other projects, this time composing pop songs for various major labels and producers, as well as working as a session drummer for various bands. As of February 2011, Yatras resumed work on the album, this time with the determination to see it through. The progress was slow, but Wish is finally complete and will see a release through Eisenwald in January 2012."
