American thrash metal outfit Bonded By Blood has announced that frontman Jose Barrales has decided to leave the band in order to pursue a new career path. A message from the group reads as follows:
"After five long years of hard work and dedication our vocalist and friend Jose Barrales has decided to part ways with the band due to personal and financial reasons. We all wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors! We have, however, moved forward and found a great replacement for the upcoming tours. He is a friend, fan and a great singer named Mauro Gonzalez from local band Mutants of War. We have been rehearsing with Mauro non-stop for the upcoming 2010 calendar and can't wait to hit the road! Refreshed and recharged Bonded By Blood is ready to crush your face in like never before! Be sure to catch us all at our upcoming tour dates with Early Man/Evile and Overkill/Forbidden/Gama Bomb!"
Barrales himself states: "Since BBB is leaving on tour today, I've decided to let you all know that I have left the band. It was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make in a very long time and it crushes me to do so, but I just couldn't continue any longer. For the past two to three years, I have been struggling with financial, personal, band and family problems that seemed to get even more chaotic as time went by. I don't really want to go into detail on my personal reason on why I left the band; what I really want to say in this announcement is thank you - thank you to all the bands, fans and friends that helped me out on the road, thank you for believing in me and BBB, thank you for all the support. As for BBB, they will continue without me. For the past couple of weeks they have been rehearsing with a good friend of ours, Mauro Gonzales, from the band Mutants Of War. I only hope you guys treat him with the same respect you treated me. As for me, I will be around. I will never leave the music world, but for now, I need to fix some problems of my own. I hope you respect my decision and hope one day I can be on stage once again. One last thank you to everyone at Earache: Dig, Dan, Ali, Talita, Al, Summer, Rich and Ant. Ruben, Jerry, Juan and Alex: you guys will never be forgotten, best five years ever. Give them hell, fuckers!"
Within Y has issued the following studio update:
"That's right! The weekend has been good to us. Mikael (who normally is a very stiff and boring guy) has been really energetic and playing his guitar almost like it was a banjo."
"In consequence to that, all 11 tracks are recorded and the turn has come to Niknam, who spent yesterday night recording his first 5 tracks. Accordingly, our table of songs (or as we say in Swedish, bullrunk) looks like this at the moment. And this is how our guitar speakers look like."
"Last, and also least relevant in this context, Jonas would like to spread some word of advise to all guys out there: Don't just look at the pictures in a cookbook. Copy the recipe (by hand if you are technically handiclapped like Jonas) and cook it for your partner."

GRAVDAL has issued the following update:
"We’re now moving towards the close of the year, and it’s been a very eventful year for GRAVDAL, so we thought it was time for an update on what has been happening with the band, and a look ahead to the future."
"The biggest event for GRAVDAL in 2010 was of course the release of our second full-length album 'Torturmantra,' which was produced by ENSLAVED’s Herbrand Larsen, and recorded by Larsen, Bjørnar E. Nilsen and Arve Isdal. We saw 'Torturmantra' as a big step forward from our first album 'Sadist,' and an expansion of our ideas and sound for the band. The track that probably surprised most of you was of course the slower ballad-like 'Mishandlet,' a song that was new territory for us, and for which we were able to feature SHINING’s NIKLAS KVARFORTH on vocals. We have been very happy with the response to the album both from the fans and the press, and the feedback we have been getting has greatly encouraged us." More...

German/Norwegian symphonic metallers Leaves' Eyes has announced the cancellation of it North American headlining tour. The band commented by saying:
"We regret to announce that the remaining dates of our North American Tour will not take place. This also includes the show in Mexico City.
"As a result of Kamelot's last-minute cancellation of their headlining tour, Leaves' Eyes still tried their best to play as many dates in the USA and Canada as possible. The big gap between the cancelled Kamelot tour dates and our own headlining dates is just to big to overcome. This made it impossible to continue any further.
"We are feeling terribly sorry for having to release this statement as we put an immense amount of energy and effort to make a full North American tour happen. Everybody was very excited to play in North America and Mexico again. However, the power to decide was not at all in our hands. We deeply regret that we now had to stop touring and return to Europe.
"We are very greatful to our fans, friends, Blackguard, the radio stations, all the promoters who made it possible for us to play the shows we did so far. We will never forget these fantastic moments. We really hope that we have better luck when touring America next time."
