"I'm sure many of you have become aware of the fact that I have not been out with The Faceless on their current tour. I've been using this time to explore a potential musical opportunity that has presented itself.
"Initially we didn't feel the need to say anything because we thought it was only going to be a couple of shows missed but, due to the circumstances, it became apparent that it would be better for them to finish the tour without me. I am not looking to quit the band, merely exploring an opportunity and I hope to be back on tour with The Faceless again in the near future.
"We will fill you all in on details regarding future tours as soon as they develop. Please go support The Faceless on the rest of this fantastic tour and I will catch up with you all down the road." More...

U.K. avant-garde metal outfit Code today premieres a new song entitled "Glimlight Tourist," which will appear on the band's upcoming 3rd album, "Augur Nox." The release will hit shops on November 19th in Europe and November 26th in North America via Agonia Records. The following press release was also issued:
"Augur Nox is the first album featuring Code's new lineup of Aort, Wacian, Syhr, LORDt and Andras. The brand-new material demonstrates the band's fresh personnel in a vivid light, confirming Code's position as a radiant gem in the extreme metal world. It displays a multifaceted approach: from stunning wide-ranging vocals, otherworldly clean passages and barbed metallic riffery, all filtered through a refined prism of avant-garde black metal. The album is Code's most progressive effort to date, yet always captures the band's distinct eerie and arcane vibe.
"Featuring ten tracks and two interludes over a 55-minute playing time, Augur Nox is a bold step forward where acute songwriting and expansive experimentation go hand in hand. Code's sound has been both refined and exaggerated at the same time, to produce a melodically dense and ambitious piece of work. The band describes the forthcoming release as their "most dynamic and challenging material to date."
Augur Nox was mixed and mastered at Orgone Studios in London (Ghost, Cathedral, Ulver) after three years of development and pre-production. The track listing is:
1. Black Rumination

Lifeforce Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with Ready, Set, Fall:
"We are proud to announce the signing of Italy's finest modern metal/metalcore act Ready, Set, Fall to the Lifeforce Records roster! The band's Lifeforce Records debut 'Memento' is set to be released in February 2014!
"If you are into outstanding melodies, striking choruses and a modern-style heavy sound, you have to listen to Ready, Set, Fall. This Italian band combines Swedish melodic death with American metalcore and a strong preference for agile variability. 'Memento' marks the first full length album and Lifeforce debut for this band which came together in Genoa in 2010.
"Some of the Ready, Set, Fall members have roots within the (pop) punk genre (Where Everything is, The Last Banned). Others paid their dues being part of metalcore and metal-acts such as Blood, Sweat And No Tears, Aspasia, and Living Corpse. With forming Ready, Set, Fall the Italians brought together their wide range of influences and predilections for the best elements of the Scandinavian and American heavy music scene.
"Listening to 'Memento' you cannot avoid to think of Soilwork, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, or All That Remains. This is exactly what Ready, Set, Fall want to achieve, without just copying those established acts. The quintet is driven by its internalization of modern-style metal, being played without any boundaries or restrictions. Enjoy!" More...

Yesterday, Dez Fafara of Devildriver announced that tourmates Sylosis had been in a vehicle crash and would be dropping off the tour. Now Sylosis vocalist Josh Middleton has issued the following statement about the incident:
"Hey everyone, Josh here. Myself, Rob and Bailey have just been released after over ten hours in hospital. Carl is being kept in overnight as he's in too much pain to walk but should hopefully be released tomorrow morning (Montreal time) once some of his muscle pain/swelling has subsided.
"All four of us and our driver were hospitalized but seeing as Bailey was the only one who didn't get taken in on a stretcher and a neck brace he wasn't treated as urgently. He's just had his back sewn up and is off to the scrap yard where the RV was taken to get people's clothes and some personal items - hero.
"We're all very lucky. We've mostly just been stitched up (my eyebrow, a few on Carl's legs and Bailey's back), badly bruised and what feels like full body whiplash. In car accident terms we're alright but in general terms we're not physically capable of continuing on with the tour and aim to get back to our families and friends ASAP to recover.
"We want to thank the paramedics, the passers by who came to our help, the staff at the hospital and all of the fans and bands that have wished us well. It means the world to us."
