We Are The Fallen has revealed the artwork for the new single "Tear the World Down," which can be viewed here. The band also commented on the single:
"For any of you that were not already aware, the next single we are releasing to radio will be the title-track from our debut album, 'Tear The World Down.' We are very excited to start this next chapter as 'Tear The World Down' starts getting added at radio stations in October. We are proud to unveil this cover-artwork for the single, as well as announce the winner of our latest contest.
"Recently we asked fans to guess which song would be our next single by submitting their own cover-artwork for that song. The winner is: Kelly Tobias, from Cincinnati, Ohio. Not only did Kelly guess the correct song, but she also submitted this great cover-art. A huge 'Thank You' to everyone else who submitted entries. There were a lot of amazing art submissions, and we were all so impressed. Our debut album 'Tear the World Down' is also now available on 12-inch vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. This collectible vinyl version is only available in limited numbers, so try to grab a copy while you can."
Who says you have to hail from Sweden to make melodic death metal? Florida's The Absence is back for a third full-length album of Gothenburg goodness entitled "Enemy Unbound," which saw release earlier this month through Metal Blade Records. In support of the new album the band has recently shot a music video for the title track, and is also streaming the track "Maelstrom" via Metalunderground.com.
The Absence vocalist Jamie Stewart recently shared his thoughts with Metalunderground about the sound of "Enemy Unbound" and the direction of the lyrics, stating "The lyrics this time around deal with life in a band, the not-so-glamorous parts while still being able to enjoy the really great things like creating moving music with close friends and brothers, meeting people who really give a fuck and care about what we do, and take the time to express that." Jamie also discusses drummer Justin Reynold's car accident, recruiting Jeramie King, and the "shred off" contest that brought the band a guest guitar player. More...

German extreme metallers Neaera have launched a landing page where you can stream "Heaven's Descent," the first single taken off the new album "Forging The Eclipse." You can check out the land page here. The album is due for release on the 26th of October in North America.
Neaera commented on the first single: "Heaven's Descent deals with the incomprehensible cases of sexual, mental and physical abuse that have taken place over the past few years at churches, schools and clerical institutions across Germany, Europe and all over the World. Over the past few months more and more of these outrageous crimes have been uncovered and victims have finally found the courage to step forward to speak out about their suffering and accuse their tormentors. Many of those criminals could never be persecuted and are hiding to this day under the cloak of false innocence and immunity.
"We must never grow tired of uncovering injustice wherever it shows its ugly face or conceals it behind the smoke and mirrors of heavenly - or worldly - pretense, we must lend our ears and voices to those that suffer and fight against these disgraceful circumstances with all means available to us, because no matter what position you have towards the church, this is about justice and atonement for the crimes that were committed, and this is something that believers and non-believers must agree on." Sweden's Spawn of Possession has issued the following announcement about re-recruiting Dennis Röndum:
"Yes Dennis are back in the band, where he belongs. We would like to thank Chalky for the time he was a part of the band, He helped us bringing SoP back to life for a moment and without him we could not have done the Australian tour. So we are thankful for everything he did for us and wish him the best of luck. Line-Up: Jonas Bryssling, Dennis Röndum, Erlend Caspersen, Richard Schill, Cristian Muenzner."
Dennis also stated: "I’ve been quite disconnected from the band for a long time now so when Bryssling got in touch with me it felt kind of surreal. But non the less amazing when he started to describe his visions for the next Spawn of Possession record and that he wanted me to handle the vocals for it. Now mind you, it’s been over four years of silence between us and we parted on a somewhat bad note but that’s in the past. The focus is now on the new material, which Bryssling has invited me to get involved with and after listening to the temp tracks, all I can say is that I’m in for a serious ride. Although my presence have been lacking in the scene I’ve been busy writing and recording with my new band. It’s still all under wraps but hopefully I’ll be able to share it with you in a not too distant future. With that said, I’m really excited to be back in the SoP camp and I can’t wait to join the others to complete what I believe will be a masterpiece of unparalleled proportions." More...

California's Redemption has issued the following update about working on a new album:
"Hello folks, and sorry for the long silence from us. It's been a very busy summer for us away from Redemption, particularly for Ray who as most of you surely know did a reunion tour with the Parallels lineup of Fates Warning to commemorate the 20th anniversary of that fantastic release.
"I (Nick) remain in complete remission with no trace of the disease that I announced publicly about a year ago. I remain on three powerful medications to ensure that the cancer does not return. Of the five original active lesions in my bones, none are active for cancer and one of them has resolved (i.e. been completely repaired with new bone). The other four are in the process of being repaired and that is the next big milestone. Patience is required but I believe they will get there. If that happens, it is a good sign that I am well down the road to being cured (according to the very aggressive doctor to whom I entrust my care). However I must remain on these medicines for two more years. They have many unpleasant side effects but I am resolved to stick with the program and beat 'incurable' blood cancer. Thank you all very much for your prayers, positive vibes and words of support -- they mean a lot. More...
