Horrified will release "Descent Into Putridity" on October 28th via Memento Mori Records. The label also had this to say:
"Welcome to the darkened recesses of old school death metal. Firmly rooted in those hallowed traditions, we have one band who twist the sickening riffs and patterns of old even further, in their never-ending worship of the extreme. Names like Morbid Angel, Autopsy, Pestilence, Cancer: these are the gods of a depraved group of individuals from Newcastle, UK. Their name is Horrified.
"For a start, the band are deceptively young and fresh: mastermind Daniel Alderson started it last year as a studio project, enrolling Sam Butterfield (guitarist of Hieroglyph) for vocals. This resulted in the chaotic Carcinogenic Feasting demo, which was subsequently released on local DIY label Tombs In The Valley Productions/Torn Flesh Records. Their first ever concert was the first edition of Byker Grave, a highly successful if brief set which is available on YouTube. More...
The debut solo album from Doug Harrison, vocalist/guitarist for Canada's Fen, will be released on October 24th under the name Slug Comparison.
The self-titled album will be released in a digital-only format, and the following press release was issued about the project:
"Known for blending darkness and light, acoustic and electric, Harrison deepens his exploration of these elements with nine new songs that feel like a ‘Part II’ to Fen’s acclaimed album 'Trails Out Of Gloom.'
"The recordings came together over a two year period. They feature drummer Randall Stoll (Fen - Congenital Fixation), and bassist Mike Young (The Devin Townsend Band). Longtime studio collaborator, Mike Southworth produced the recordings.
"While similar to Trails Out Of Gloom, Slug Comparison reveals Harrison’s growth as a vocalist and songwriter, experimenting with techno-industrial sounds in 'Bringer of Doom,' using a vocal character in 'Evil Walks,' and surpassing himself compositionally with the multi-layered, multi-movement, anti-war epic, 'Long Live the Night,' which includes an extended slide guitar solo, a choir, and battlefield soundscapes." "Ego Dominus Tuus is our pinnacle work, an offering of prayer, sacrifice and praise to the sacred trinity that is at once a divinity and a path towards other-becoming. Verily we offer this work upon the subtle altar as a declaration of faith and the intent of our ultimate will.
"May it serve to move and inspire the hearts of those brothers and sisters who would dare the path of the Antient Night, the way which threads through the black between the stars above, the nadir of the crucible of the underworld below and pierces the sacred chambers of the heart within. The longing for this union is the heart of the melancholia, both gift and burden."

British melodic rock/AOR act Ten, which is set to release the new studio album "Albion" on November 21st, announced the addition of two new members: guitarists Dann Rosingana and Steve Grocott.
For years, Gary Hughes has toyed with the idea of bringing even more power and width into the Ten live sound. The addition of two new highly skilled individuals sets the aim to bringing the twin lead guitar back into play, while not detracting from the solid and powerful backdrop which is trademark of Ten.
Hughes commented: "The arrival of Dann and Steve will enable the band to play more of the layers in Ten's studio sound live on stage."
Rosingana is a very gifted guitar player with a very bluesy edge. Combining speed and melody perfectly in his solo work. He was born Barrow-in-Furness Cumbria, and has been playing guitar since the age of 10. Dann also plays keyboards and sings. His previous Bands include: Shellshocked, A2Z, Hysteria and Yorkshire based club band, Jagged Edge.
Grocott is an incredibly versitile guitar player. Combining stunning technical ability with harmony and melody. Creating light and shade in breathtaking abundance with his solo work. Steve hails from Staffordshire and has been playing guitar since the age of 12. His previous bands include AOR band Sevendayz.
"Albion" is the first of the two new albums to feature lead guitar work by Dann and Steve.
Ten veteran and formidable guitarist John Halliwell, once again provides the power backdrop and both new additions will share lead duties together to bring a new dimension to the solo aspect of Ten live sound. More...
