Black Country Communion, the Anglo-American rock group featuring Joe Bonamassa (guitar, vocals), Glenn Hughes (vocals, bass), Jason Bonham (drums), and Derek Sherinian (keyboards), today announced that the band's only U.K. concert at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Saturday January 5th has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Planet Rock Radio launched a 48-hour ticket pre-sale on Wednesday 19th September. Customers who purchased tickets will receive a full refund, however if you have any queries, please email email@example.com.
The one-off concert was originally intended to be Black Country Communion’s only U.K. appearance in 2013. The band chose Wolverhampton due to the geographical and ties to the area (Glenn Hughes was born in Cannock, and Jason Bonham was born in Dudley).
In 2011, Black Country Communion’s last studio album, “2”, scored the No.1 spot in the Official U.K. Rock Album Chart. The band’s upcoming third album "Afterglow," produced by Kevin Shirley, will be released in the U.K. by Mascot Records on Monday October 29th.
Brooklyn’s legendary hardcore punk outfit, Yuppicide, is proud to announce the release of its first studio album in 14 years, the "American Oblivion" EP, which is out today via Dead City Records. "American Oblivion" can be purchased as a limited-edition CD or 12” vinyl with color booklet including lyrics, rare photos, art and more via the Dead City webstore at this location and digitally through iTunes here.
“Even when the band was apart, I wrote songs for Yuppicide: I'd hear Jesse's voice or Joe's bass,” said Yuppicide guitarist and founding member, Steve Karp. “Once we started working with new drummer Jay, the reunited band got back into songwriting mode quickly and almost too easily - like we never stopped. ‘American Oblivion’ is our very best effort yet, and sums up all our hard work since forming way back in 1988."
Yuppicide will play a CD release show on Sunday, September 30th at St. Vitus in Brooklyn, N.Y. to commemorate the release. The EP is also currently available for streaming in the player below. More...
Silent Leges Inter Arma will see a North American release for the band's self-titled album on October 30th through Eisenwald Records. The label comments:
"A young black metal band founded 2007 in Rostock, Germany, Silent Leges Inter Arma's self-titled album is the band's long-brewing debut full-length. 'Silent leges inter arma' was a quote from the Roman politician and philosopher Cicero. Roughly translated, it means 'Under the weapons the laws keep silent.'
"Silent Leges Inter Arma released their first demo in 2008, and then they got signed by Deviant Records for the release of the debut EP Synästhesie in 2009, which upon release received rave reviews. Several excellent live appearances followed together with Wolves in the Throne Room, Endstille, Todtgelichter, and a tour with Totalselfhatred and Hypothermia.
"Since 2010, the band focused on new material for their first album which could finally be recorded and finalized during 2011/2012. Now compled, this self-titled full-length offers eigth tracks of varied and contemporary black/death metal packed in a natural production. The band represents once more their own unconsumed, ambitious, and honest way of modern European black metal!" More...

With the new studio full-length from Neurosis set to erupt in late October, today the first track of the massive "Honor Found In Decay" to be made publicly available has been set loose via National Public Radio. Experience the slow burn of “At The Well” via NPR right here. The following press release was also issued about the track:
"The pyroclastic surge of 'At The Well' coalesces the emotive and expansive elements of the act into a ten minute hymn, which helps reaffirm why Neurosis remain one of the most important heavy acts in existence.
"The fifth Neurosis album to be handled by engineering sorcerer Steve Albini, the hour-long Honor Found In Decay is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated albums of 2012. The seven tracks harnessed within this release capture the unit’s output at its most emotional and diverse yet, forming what the band members themselves are referring to as their pinnacle studio effort. Germ's latest EP "Loss," which follows the band's "Wish" album from last year, is set to drop on October 30th, 2012. The track listing and artwork can be viewed below. Germ was also covered in the genre-blending edition of our "Unearthing the Metal Underground" column. The following press release was issued about the upcoming EP:
"Begun as a solo project by Austere member Tim, Germ was conceived as early as 2003. The idea behind Germ was to create something that not only combined atmospheric black metal and rock - Tim has become known for with his love of classical, pop and electronic styles of music - but to create an image and visual aspect to accompany the music. In 2006, a three-song EP was recorded, but never released. One track from the EP, 'Raving Mad With Sadness,' was uploaded to Myspace, and to this day gains considerable praise. After this song appeared, things again fell silent.
"After almost three years of inactivity, where the focus was on other projects, Tim entered SLS studios in October 2009 to begin tracking for what was to become the debut full-length Germ album. However, not long after, Tim was again focusing on other projects, this time composing pop songs for various major labels and producers, as well as working as a session drummer for various bands; completion of the debut Germ album would have to wait. As of February 2011, Tim resumed work on the album, this time with the determination to see it through to the end. Tim’s continuing work as a composer and session musician have meant at times the progress has been slow, but finally the debut Germ album, Wish, was complete in the somber month September 2011 and finally saw a release through EISENWALD in March 2012. Alternative Press presents the premiere of "The Alpha The Omega," the title track off The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza's fourth album, "Danza IIII: The Alpha The Omega." Give the song a listen right here.
Featuring guest vocals by Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel and Alex Erian of Obey the Brave and Despised Icon, the song is "so shredtastic it may cause the skin to peel right off your face" in AP's words.
"Danza IIII" (think tally marks, not Roman numerals) heralds the end of Danza's decade-long tenure, during which the Tennessee band has released three other albums and toured with the likes of The Acacia Strain, Suicide Silence, Cattle Decapitation, and Misery Index. The following press release was issued about the album:
"On Danza IIII we find a stripped-down Danza, consisting solely of core members Jessie Freeland and Josh Travis (now a full-time member of Glass Cloud). With Freeland manning the vocals as always, this time with even more vitriol than ever, the virtuoso Travis is responsible for all other instrumentation on the album. The result: the most musical and bloodlettingly honest work to ever bear the Danza name.
"Danza IIII was engineered and mixed by Nicholas Scott (Miss May I). The artwork was created by Michael J. Windsor, known for his work with The Red Chord and Pig Destroyer, and for his book covers for bestsellers like The Da Vinci Code and Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Fans can pre-order Danza IIII now at the band's official online store." More...

"We're all excited for this tour as we have been listening to Voivod since the eighties and still consider them to be on of the most important metal bands of their era. Their simplistic if still boundary pushing way of creating their sound can definitely be said to be a big influence for us."

Enslaved has now posted the fifth of eight installments explaining each song from new album "RIITIIR" (reviewed here), which is due out on September 28th, 2012. The commentary on the title track from Grutle Kjellson and Ivar Bjørnson can be read below.
Kjellson on “Riitiir:”
“I really wanted to use these lyrics on the song that ended up being ‘Roots Of The Mountain,’ but Ivar insisted on using them on this one. I’m glad he did so! This song is the shortest, ‘only’ 5 minutes 30 seconds long, and the far most bombastic and conclusive song on the album. A nothing-but-perfect title track! The diversity in the different riffs - from Middle-Eastern-like passages to almost Swedish folk/prog-like tones - really suits my lyrics and the initial meaning of those. I will not reveal too much; it’s up to the so-called attentive reader to judge what they really mean. I could, of course, explain what it all means, but that would be as exciting as Leonardo Da Vinci explaining the facial expression of the Mona Lisa. I’m not saying that the codes in the ‘Riitiir’ lyrics will be debated for 500 years, but let us leave some mysteries for the readers that enjoy metaphors and ‘Easter eggs.’ They are, however - as a rough guide - about a widely worshipped god/deity around the world that appears under different names in different geographical areas. The name ‘Riitiir’ is an ENSLAVED-ish way of writing rite, or the rites of man if you like - just like ‘Ruun’ was for writing rune - i.e. just a cosmetic variation really, but we thought it looked and sounded cool. It’s okay to take a couple of chances, isn’t it?” More...
