Natvre's Premieres Title Track Of New Album

MetalSucks is offering an exclusive early stream of "Early Cvlts," the title track to the second LP by Thessaloniki, Greece-based black metal trio, Natvre's, as the record nears release on October 27th through Argento Records. Check it out at this location, or simply in the player at the bottom.

Combining mid-tempo, over-saturated riffs with feral blast beats and lacerating vocals, Natvre's creates a hateful maelstrom of terror and controlled chaos that is impossible to forget. The Hellenic commandos now offer the torrential maelstrom of the second proper full-length, "Early Cvlts," the album showcasing the band'sterrorizing yet supremely infectious '90s-inspired blackened arts through eight methodical songs recorded at Stelth Sound Studiosand completed with artwork (shown below) by Luca Devinu.

The band offers with the "Early Cvlts" advance stream, "This song is what Natvre's is all about. It's the song on the album that has the biggest punk influence and it's a sort of statement against the narcissism and pseudo avant-garde attitude that is quite popular in Black Metal today. It's a song about reality and self-liberation through following the path that leads to the depth." More...

Dawn Ray'd Signs To Prosthetic Records

U.K. based black metal band Dawn Ray'd has officially signed to Prosthetic Records. The politically-charged three-piece from Liverpool will release the first full length album, "The Unlawful Assembly," on digipack compact disc on November 24th, with the digital release hitting all platforms on October 27th. Pre-order the CD now at this location. The vinyl will be out on October 2nd via Feast of Tentacles in the UK and EU and Halo of Flies in North America.

"The Unlawful Assembly" further sharpens Dawn Ray'd's precise malevolent attack of melody and blasts, delving deeper and reaching beyond the depths explored in the 2015 debut EP, "A Thorn, A Blight."

Recorded by Tom Dring at Vagrant Studios, "The Unlawful Assembly" is divided into two parts: 'The Wild Service' and 'The Wild Magic'; it is equal parts malice and spite; ethereality and exultation. From the clean singing of "A Litany To Cowards" to the thrashing pace of "Emptiness Beneath The Great Emptiness", the album, "breathes new fire into black metal's small but sturdy leftist tradition, crafting potent, violin-laced atmospheric black metal songs that double as battle hymns for the class war," according to Noisey.

Already receiving vast critical praise including mentions of "Album of the Year," DAWN RAY'D is using the platform to express their political views and beliefs, which simply stated, are rooted in anarchism. The album as a whole can be dissected and examined on many levels however with the lyrical themes being as complex as the music.

The band has already made its presence known in the U.S. through a recent summer tour with Michigan-based atmospheric black metal group Dakhma. The band has done countless DIY shows throughout Europe and have played the Paranoya Fest in Germany, No Sanctuary in Croatia and Fluff Fest in Czech Republic.

The Unlawful Assembly is a multi-pronged attack, but with one consistent message: inaction is not an option. The track listing and artwork are as follows:

1. Fire Sermon
2. The Abyssal Plain
3. Future Perfect Conditional
4. Emptiness Beneath The Great Emptiness
5. A Litany To Cowards
6. The Ceaseless Arbitrary Choice
7. Held In A Lunar Synthesis
8. Strike Again The Hammer Sings!
9. Island of Cannibal Horses
10. A Thought, Ablaze More...

Apologoethia Announces Debut EP "Pillars"

Today, Invictus Productions set November 24th as the international release date for Apologoethia's highly anticipated debut mini-album, "Pillars."

Apologoethia was spawned way back in 2012 as a side-project of J.B. in order to develop some ideas that didn't fit both musical and stylistically with his main band, Spain's Graveyard. After an intense period of composition, the style that now exists as Apologoethia was born. Sometime in 2014, J.B. asked J.F. to lay down some drum patterns that would fit with the riffs, the tempos, and complement the overall feel, atmosphere, and vibe that the songs needed and demanded. With all the material already prepared, shaped, and sharpened, it was time to develop the conceptual side of the band, creating some lyrics that would fit with Apologoethia's atmosphere and dark 'n' macabre approach. After a meticulous search, L.O. was brought into the band, knowing that his writing and conceptual skills would work perfectly with the band's aesthetics and purposes.

Alas, what results is a hysteric-yet-nuanced plunge into the realms of madness. Exploring the dark side of human knowledge, an introspection through different cultural, ascetic, and religious approaches mankind explored throughout centuries past, Apologoethia here construct ceaselessly roiling monoliths of diabolical metal mania. Comprised of four equally treacherous labyrinths/songs, Pillars unfurls its mysteries with a perversely restless ease, pitching headlong from lumbering doom chunder into frothing, ferocious South American-styled chaos and often back again (or in reverse, or both), all of it betraying a boundless vision heeding the darkest energies coursing through heavy metal. Within, stretches of clean-toned tension crop up, deliriously setting the stage for further onslaught to commence.

Rounded out by rich 'n' robust production, Pillars marks a none-more-auspicious debut for a name that shall soon be spoken of far and wide: behold the birth of Apologoethia. The first Pillar to be revealed is "De Aeterno Praesentia," which can be heard in the player below.

The cover and track listing are as follows:

1. Pillar I (De Fundamenta Spiritus)
2. Pillar II (De Humanae Natura)
3. Pillar III (De Absentiae Vitae)
4. Pillar IV (De Aeterno Praesentia) More...

Gridfailure Premieres "I Shall Not Survive..."

From amidst the forests just north of New York City, the cult of Gridfailure continues to spew its discordant brew of off-kilter experimental terror with the release of "I Shall Not Survive Another Winter" this Friday for the Autumnal Equinox. No Echo is now streaming the whole recording, which you can check out over here, or simply in the player below.

Each song on "I Shall Not Survive Another Winter" grows longer than the one preceding it, the record further exploring full-on post-apocalyptic dementia; a vision of Post-Sixth Mass-Extinction Skullduggery which is the concept of the upcoming Teeth Collection and Drought Stick albums and several surrounding mini-releases portraying a grim vision of humanity's future. A nearby reality where those who have survived mankind's override by artificial intelligence, the ecological rebellion of our planet, and thermonuclear warfare amidst our own kind strive to rebuild society, and are continually thwarted. Thriving only amidst the gutters and back-alleys of a scorched culture, Gridfailure's sound reflects this impending cross-contamination of horrors.

The track list for the album is:

1. Cabal
2. Sew Nothing, Reap Nothingness
3. Pact Rejection
4. It's Too Late For Me, It's Too Late For You

Nupraptor To Release Debut "The Heresiarch"

Today, Shadow Kingdom Records set November 24th as the international release date for the surprise debut of Nupraptor, "The Heresiarch," on CD and cassette tape formats. The vinyl version shall be released later, on December 29th.

Curiously named, Nupraptor is the solo project of White Hornet mastermind Matt St. Ours, who's been itching to record some pure 'n' powerful doom metal for a while now. And that's exactly what you get with "The Heresiarch": the purest DOOM, powerful as it comes, downtrodden and desolate to the bitter end.

Hailing the old European gods of traditional doom, Nupraptor crafts seven slumbering beasts of majestic misery within a mystical continuum of 51 minutes, starting with a "Black Mass" and on "Through the Smoke" before "Burning the Believers" "Before the Eyes of God," and at last "Wasting Away" before "The Fall of Christ." Verily, St. Ours crafts music for the grave and the graveyard, his haunting vocals heralding the onset of long nights wrapped in the fog's embrace, languorous and lonely. Or, more accurately, you simply cannot craft doom metal of such a beautifully barren hue without having LIVED it - and dying for it. Behold The Heresiarch, for it has arrived as Nupraptor!

Await the arrival with the new tracks "Through the Smoke" and "The Fall of Christ" at Shadow Kingdom's Bandcamp streaming below, where all three formats of the album can be preordered.

Cover and track listing are as follows:

1. Black Mass
2. Through The Smoke
3. Burning The Believers
4. The Heresiarch
5. Before the Eyes of God
6. Wasting Away
7. The Fall Of Christ More...

The Ocean Premieres "Turritopsis Dohrnii"

Pelagic Records -- founded in 2009 by The Ocean guitarist Robin Staps -- will release "In The Twilight, These Rocks Have Teeth" this fall; a compilation of one-hundred-eighty minutes of contemporary post rock, metal, and experimental rock music. The release showcases the entire Pelagic Records roster and includes bands such as Mono, Pg.Lost, Klone, Wang Wen, and many others as well as previously unreleased tracks by The Ocean and new signing Spook The Horses. Preorders are currently available over here.

In advance of the massive collection's September 29th release, Revolver is offering up an official premiere of The Ocean's "Turritopsis Dohrnii," at this location. You can also just press play in the player at the bottom.

The track serves as The Ocean's first output since the 2015 "Transcendental" split EP with Japan's post rock legends Mono, a release which inaugurated the Pelagic Split Series - later to be followed by editions featuring exclusive contributions by Cult Of Luna and The Old Wind, Tiny Fingers and EF, and LLNN and Wovoka.

Issues Staps of "Turritopsis Dohrnii," "This track was recorded as part of the Pelagial session. 'Turritopsis dohrnii' is a jellyfish that lives in the Mediterranean. It is the only immortal species on Earth. Jellyfish are weird creatures. They start their lives as polyps which are basically something closer to a plant than to an animal, something that grows on a rock. These polyps reproduce asexually, by cell division. The result becomes the free-swimming medusa, a jellyfish. Jellies then reproduce sexually, before they die... except this little guy here. Once the adult form of the species have reproduced, they revert back into their juvenile polyp state. They shrink, their tentacles disappear and they sink to the ocean floor to start their unique life cycle all over again... and not just once, but infinitely.

"This track begins and ends with the same part, reflecting that eternal cycle," he continues. "Learning about this tiny creature made me think about how we are desperately striving for physical rejuvenation and intellectual immortality... the other side of the coin is the fact that we barely see any old people these days. In a city like Berlin, everyone is young, healthy and pretty. Elder people get locked away in homes that most of us will never get to see or visit, unless we have family members unfortunate enough to become old." More...

Cruentator Signs With Xtreem Music For Debut

Letters From The Colony Signs With Nuclear Blast

A highly complex construct of math metal, crushing death elements and virtuosic shoegaze moments – Letters From The Colony creates more than just songs. The young progressive extreme metal architects from Borlänge in Sweden are building tracks that are able to catapult them right into the league of bands such as Meshuggah, Opeth or Gojira with their first album only just on the horizon.

The five young musicians are proud to announce that they have signed a deal with Nuclear Blast whilst the debut album "Vignette" is currently in the making. But lowering its sights for the debut album or taking just small steps at the beginning of a career has always been out of the question for Letters From The Colony. The first full-length release is already being mastered by Jens Bogren (Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Pradise Lost), whilst Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, PAIN, Lindemann) has not shied away from declaring a big recommendation for the band.

Letters From The Colony builds upon the intersection between perfection and ordered chaos; the unbridled joy of experimentation and virtuosic instrument mastery. They deliver highly complex songs full of unbounded aggression and progressive structures, but also do not shy away from playing saxophone alongside guitars or sampling the call of a deer into a track!

Obviously, the cover artwork choice for the band is another proof of the quintet’s dazzling multi-faceted qualities, and it arrives as rare and vibrant as they come (see below), pushing Letters From The Colony into a completely new niche compartment of technically challenging extreme metal.

More info, as well as the first songs from ‘Vignette’ will be unveiled soon. More...

Kartikeya Announces New Album "Samudra"

Six years after the majestic "Mahayuga," Russia's Kartikeya will release the new album named "Samudra" on October 19th via Apathia Records, or 27 Ashvina 5119 of Kali Yuga, the holy day of Diwali!

"Samudra" features 14 tracks, and guests appearances by Keith Merrow, Karl Sanders (Nile), Sai Shankar, and David Maxim Micic.

On 27 Ashvina 5119 of Kali Yuga, the holy day of Diwali, on the day of the Victory of Good over Evil, by the fire of the divine light, the long-awaited third “Samudra” shall be unleashed in celebration.

Signifying the decimal foundation of the Hindu universe and the symbolism of Trimurti - the three highest creator-gods, the ternary power of creation, preservation and destruction, “Samudra” comes out exactly on the same day, after 10 years, as the debut album "The Battle Begins."

The new album begins a five-album concept dedicated to the five nature's elements in the Hindu culture, with the first about water. “Samudra” - in Sanskrit is not just water, it is the accumulation of all the waters of the Earth, the Great Ocean, personified as the God of All Waters. Accordingly, the music of the band on this album flows and shakes the listener like the mighty waves rising to the skies, then coming down with a huge tide and flowing back with the ebb, leaving the listener's naked soul uncovered to the core of subconsciousness. Majestic and powerful - are the best epithets suitable for the new era of carnatic metal developed by Kartikeya, which has overgrown with coral reefs made of groove, extreme- progressive metal, and Dravidian melodies.

Authentic Indian instruments, a variety of extreme and clean vocal mantras, incredible speed, unconventional massiveness and top-notch quality - all of these shine on the most unexpected and unusual album of 2017 in the world of metal - Kartikeya's third album - “Samudra.” More...
