Cristian Mustaine of Blood Thirsty Demons has issued the following update about the band recruiting a new bassist and drummer:
"Hi everybody! Two years ago I wrote an announcement about the momentary split of the band and I promised that I would have continued my project alone. Subsequently, My Kingdom Music released the reissue of 'Let The War Begin' and the new album 'Misanthropy' and some have been surprised because they thought that I was ended, or maybe they hoped that! But this has not happened and I have to thank all the people that sustained me, My Kingdom Music and who helped me to find two new musicians that make part of the band officially today!
"Yes, as I promised you, after two years of very hard search for two musicians with true passion for music to play with me in Blood Thirsty Demons, I finally introduce you the new bass player MIK GAWEN and the new drummer ERIK KROISOS.
"These two musicians have been working with me for a few weeks, with the purpose to prepare as soon as possible a number of songs to bring Blood Thirsty Demons to play concerts again. I can also tell you that the next album is to a good point, already seven songs have been written and recorded by me in the precedent months. At the moment I will continue alone the incisions to conclude the new record, while Mik and Erik will give me help to prepare the live shows as they are already doing excellently."
Helstar had previously recruited a stand-in bassist for Jerry Abarca, who took a leave of absence. The band has now issued the following announcement about Jerry's return and gearing up to write a new album:
"Helstar is excited to report that our long-time bassist and brother, Jerry Abarca, will officially return to the stage this week! His first show with us will be this Saturday, September 24th at The Rail Club in Forth Worth, Texas. Jerry will finish out our last two shows of the year in Chicago and Houston in October. The band will then take a break from playing live in order to concentrate on writing new material for our next album.
"Jerry has been seeing specialists for his stomach-related illness and now has his condition under control through medication. Doctors have permitted him to proceed with normal physical activities, although he must still be cautious not to over-exert himself.
"Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our fans for the support and well wishes for Jerry's recovery. Your kind words and heartfelt messages mean a great deal to the band, Jerry and the Abarca family."

"Great news friends! We are extremely happy to announce that we have found a new drummer! His name is Håkan 'H-Can' Strind. He has previously played in the metal band Ironware' and is also a member in the rock band Debbie Ray. Ironware released the album 'Break Out' in 2003 world wide through 'Limb Music,' and 'Debbie Ray' released the album 'Artificial Misery' in 2009.
"There have been a lot of changes in the drummer position in the past months, but we can honestly say that H-Can is here to stay. We felt right from the start that he was the missing piece of the OW puzzle, and we haven't felt this good about getting a new member since we found Joni (bass) about a year ago. We have now come full circle and are more than ever ready to conquer the world."
H-Can also commented on joining the band: "I want to thank the gang in One Without for welcoming me into their family. This is going to be awesome and I am very excited to be a part of this band. I feel that we strive towards the same goals and that we will have a lot of fun times ahead of us. Cheers everyone!!!"

Black/thrashers Necrodeath are set to release their new album "Idiosyncrasy" on Scarlet Records. This new effort consists of one single 40 minute long track. Drummer Peso has once again written the majority of the music, this time with a big help from guitarist Pier Gonella, whose importance within the band's dynamics is constantly increasing. Singer Flegias and Peso are co-authors of the lyrical concept, inspired by the eternal conflict between good and evil and the struggle towards reaching interior peace against all odds.
"Idiosyncrasy" was recorded at Outer Sound Studios in Rome, Italy and Music Art Studios in Rapallo, Italy and mixed by Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre). The artwork, inspired by Quentin Tarantino's classic movie "Reservoir Dogs," has been made by Nerve Design (Nile, Threshold, Vision Divine, Bulldozer). Leif Jensen (Dew-Scented) is credited as a special guest on vocals. A trailer for the album is available below.
California's Sunset Nation has issued the following announcement entering the studio to record a new album:
"Heavy Metal history has been made! Thank you to everyone who came out last night, lost their voices and supported the future of heavy metal... A special thank you to the world famous 'Wrecking Crew' for doing what they do, better than anyone else... Thank you to Brain Dead, Ampora, Slaying Serenity and Fractaline for sharing their talent and metal with the world. Thank you to the All Star Jammers who tore the house down and worked their asses off to entertain the hungry metal community... You all sounded great.
"Sunset Nation will NOT be returning to the stage until next year. After 4 years of releasing demos, Sunset Nation is finally taking time off of playing live to record their highly anticipated debut album.
"Our first order of business when we return next year is to do a west coast tour to support the new album. Sunset Nation has officially chosen the band we will be touring with. We have chosen a 'Band From Hell' that we feel will be a great asset in helping us bring real metal back to the masses..."

Swedish act Infernal has issued the following update about delays in recording new material:
"Hello again... I/we apologize for the total lack of updates on this site, but here's a short one and what to expect from the nearest future. Due to personal problems, among them a pending jail sentence, the music has had to take the backseat.
"As well, financial problems have prevented us from even booking studio time etc, but this shall change. As for now, I, David, am recording and playing as much as possible, but have to use my home studio for the coming new 5 track demo 'Hellhymns.' This except for the drums.
"Whatever this will bring, I don't know as record companies are not to trust, and we refuse being fucked over another time (this mostly meaning me - David - from my experiences with earlier bands and projects.) Anyway as for now, here's a demo version of 'Descent To Hell,' not the whole track but exactly the half. Check the music section."

Every week in Unearthing the Metal Underground, we take a look at three quality bands that haven't gotten as much exposure yet as they should. This week we take a look at the metal scene in London, one of the most famous cities in the world.
Formed in 2006, Mutant has been performing their take on classic thrash metal, which they refer to as speed death, for five years now. They have been able to build up an ever growing fan base in that time, leading to shows with such other acts as Municipal Waste and performing at the Bloodstock, Damnation and Hammerfest festivals amongst others. Early this year they proved to the whole country why they’re one of the best bands going in the British underground, when they were voted the Best Unsigned Band of 2010 by readers of Terrorizer magazine.
