Every week we check in with rock and metal acts from all corners of the globe to get their best stories from live shows. This week we move beyond the pit to hear from Christina Kasper of Ottawa band Doll about a drunk fan crashing an interview:
One of the first interviews Doll ever did was with the guys on I'm With The Band TV. We decided to do it outside the venue we had just played, right after our gig. Little did we know it was near "The Liquor Store Party Bar" at 2am... a bar that's known for catering and over serving to a younger crowd on weekends.
So the interview was going on normally when all of a sudden bars close and out comes the crazies! This drunk ass girl comes up to the camera blabbing about her new iPhone. Instead of stopping the interview we figured we'd go along with it and have bit of fun. So after she told us she loved life hehe we asked her if she loved Doll and of course she did and she loved our live show... although I'm pretty sure she had never heard of us or was even at the show! Different music crowd I think! After a few minutes her boyfriend and friend came looking for her and took her away from the cameras.
After that is when the madness begins. Her boyfriend brought her to a wall directly behind where the cameras where filming. She started puking which was to be expected. It was hard to continue the interview with a straight face. Then all of a sudden her dress came off and she started peeing right behind us... Golden showers everywhere and in front of a huge crowd and cameras rolling. When she noticed people were starring at her she began to cry, still with her dress off, completely naked. I guess kids don't wear underwear these days...
Anyhow her boyfriend came and confronted us when he figured what was going on and we told him we wouldn't release any of it...and since we're nice guys we didn't but part of the excitement can be found in the video below.
Check out the beginning of the interview (minus the puking and urinating) in the player below, or find more info on Doll at the band's Facebook profile here. Be sure to also check back in again next Tuesday for more Pit Stories.

The Skull - featuring original Trouble members vocaist Eric Wagner and drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson alongside the band's longtime bassist Ron Holzner with Sacred Dawn guitarists Michael Carpenter and Lothar Keller - performed at Tequila Jaxx this past Saturday, September 14th in Mentor-On-The-Lake, Ohio.
Fan-filmed video footage of the event can be seen below. This was the band's first performance with Jeff "Oly" Olson.
As previously reported, Olson rejoined The Skull last month, stating: "I know that I've mentioned that I wouldn't perform Trouble's music anymore unless it's with the other original members, but I've had a change of heart. I want to rock again."
"Although I have been having a great time playing keys for In-Graved, I miss the drums and playing classic Troublesongs. I'm still going to jam with Victor, but there is room for The Skull too."
He added: "In just a few short months, 2014 will mark the 30th anniversary year for Trouble's debut record, 'Psalm 9'. Trouble guitarists Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin are having fun with their new record, and I had fun writing some intros for it. It's just that Eric, Ron, and myself want to jam too and celebrate our 30th anniversary as well with a tour and a new record. We've worked just as hard as Bruce and Rick over the years and we feel that we've earned the privilege to celebrate with the fans as well. There is no animosity between the two bands and we intend to keep it that way.
"We are currently writing a debut record, set for release in 2014 and I've already submitted several songs to the guys. Excitement is in the air."
The Skull's debut CD will be produced by Billy Anderson this autumn in Portland, Oregon and will be released via as-yet-undetermined record label. More...

New York City-based iconoclastic black metal revolutionists, Imperial Triumphant, will unveil the diseased fruits of their latest studio excursion in the form of "Goliath."
A traumatic two-track audio journey, the nihilistic "Goliath" was forged on February of 2013 at Menegroth the Thousand Caves, and engineered, mixed and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice, Nader Sadek, Atheist, Origin etc.) and Imperial Triumphant.
"Goliath" centers itself around the biblical accounts of Sodom and Gomorrah. The cities, synonymous with unrepentant sin, were consumed by fire and brimstone under the manifestation of God's wrath. "Goliath" serves as the soundtrack to the slaughter - a searing barrage of twisted Deathspell Omegian riffing, angular pace shifts, and feral vocal cascades encased in an atmosphere of unabridged torment and the pervading stench of broken souls.
Elaborates the band, "Goliath is a hallucinatory journey through the psychedelic hellscape that is Sodom and Gomorrah." More...

Invisible Oranges today presents the premiere of "My Light," the first song to be revealed off "Last Poem/First Light," the debut full-length by So Hideous. Listen to the track below.
Invisible Oranges editor Doug Moore writes, "An even blend of hardcore, post-rock, and black metal... Last Poem/First Light sounds tonally huge and powerful, which is important for such melodically delicate music... The softer textures enrich the guitars, rather than overwhelming them."
The following press release was also issued about the band: "From New York City, So Hideous combines intense, blackened hardcore with orchestral elements. The supremely cathartic result lies somewhere between 90s German legends Acme and a John Williams film score. For the debut album, Last Poem/First Light, out October 22nd, an actual orchestra and choir performed live in the studio with the band to help create the majestic songs.
"Last Poem/First Light was recorded and mixed by Dean Baltulonis (Agnostic Front, Lucero) and mastered by Scott Hull (not the Pig Destroyer guitarist but the mastering engineer whose credits include Sting and Lou Reed)." More...
Nov 12th will see the re-issue of Yob’s cult doom metal classic “Catharsis” on the ten year anniversary of when it was first released. Profound Lore Records comments:
"Out of print and hard to obtain for many years, 'Catharsis' is an album which marked a turning point in the career of one of the most important doom metal bands today. It is the album in which helped define the signature style of massive colossal doom that YOB are known for harnessing unto the masses.
"Originally recorded in early 2002 but not released until fall 2003, 'Catharsis' was released at a time when the heavier side of American doom metal was recognized by a select few bands and releases (i.e. 'Holy Mountain,' 'Jerusalem,' 'Crippled Lucifer,' 'The Art Of Self Defense,' 'Goatsnake Vol 1' and various Neurosis releases) which helped play a part in influencing YOB’s sound.
"But it was with 'Catharsis' in which YOB would create a new sound of their own, a sound of doom which would inevitably develop itself over the years and finally be recognized as one of the most powerful sounds emanating from the doom metal scene as proven by YOB’s succeeding albums. More...

He is a serious musical talent and we know he will bring positive change to Wakeless while we continue to write for our sophomore release. Canadian power metal act Instanzia posted an update on the long awaiting sophomore LP "Spinning Maze." Vocalist/Guitarist Alexis Woodbury posted the following update:
"Hello everyone! After all this time I believe it’s time for a little update from the Instanzia camp!
Of course things are taking longer than planned… but isn’t this always the case? In this case it’s pretty much a lot longer than what was planned due to various reasons, including some relatively major changes in my life. The project never went out of my mind though, so it kept progressing slowly but surely.
"Due to technical problems, I had to re-record the rhythm guitars for the fourth time I believe, but now it’s all done and I’m ready to move on to demoing and then recording the vocals for the album. Most of the vocals are already written and just need demoing and practice while some still need to be mapped out. I’m keeping the lead guitars and solos as the last stage since I’m a bit exhausted with guitars now after having recorded the rhythms so many times!
"A couple of singers will be invited to participate to the choirs just like what people could hear on 'Ghosts' and this is honestly the part I’m looking forward to the most!
I won’t give an approximate release date this time as I know it’s almost always impossible to plan since we’re not professionals and I can’t guarantee I won’t get stuck during a certain stage of the production! I can only say that it’ll be released in 2014 for sure!
"As some of you may know, we’ve got an artwork done by the renowned Felipe Machado and it’s very stunning! I can’t wait to unveil it to everyone.
"I hope you guys bear with us through the long wait because it’ll be worth it! We really put a lot of effort into improving from what we had done for Ghosts and I think we succeeded in making an album that’s as catchy and melodic while being more mature, deeper, heavier, more symphonic and more painted with various synthesizer textures!"
