Munnin of one man black metal act Ravenhelm, who previously announced the end of the band, has now checked in with the following statement about the history of the project:
"I have made a lot of mistakes with the process of creating the music for Ravenhelm. From ripping the heads off of people who literally told me to stop raping my instruments audio jack, becoming enemies with crooked domestic indie labels, slander, never promoting this shit music and being two faced in some regards, and rushing music recording for the sake of releasing music are just among the plethora of reasons. Hell, being that Ravenhelm may not of been my ‘first’ musical endeavor is not exactly the a reason for me to release sup-bar badly executed music with no flow. Do I wish to take back my past mistakes? Yes, in a way I do. However, if I never experienced this faulty run...how was I ever to expect to evolve from this shit storm of mediocrity?
"Am I stating that I came off as an elitist piece of shit because I am so ‘underground’? Yes, I did very much so. Am I here to ‘apologize’ for it? FUCK NO. In the bitter end of Ravenhelm, I created ‘music’ or whatever you want to call this shit for the sake of loving to write music. I am no ‘uber talented virtuoso of music and guitar’ or what have you. I simply created music because I like to. Many people have had many of years more experience than I do, in which is obvious of the individuals that surround me and my little ‘circle’. I also can't say that I practiced as much as I should, spending more time wiping the floor of scrubs in Halo or decapitating zombie hordes seemed to take center stage, hooked up the studio amp and roared away more of my time and interest. Why not? Sometimes a good video game was more than enough for the time. More...

Axl Rose (Guns N Roses) during his recent tour fired his entire road crew for allowing him to nap during the time he was suppose to go on stage. The tricky part to this is that Rose has strict instructions to not wake him under ANY circumstances. TRIGGERSoul has inked a deal with JAMSYNC MUSIC for release of their debut album "RESTORATION." In 2007, TRIGGERSoul recorded their debut at Smash Hit Studios and had producer Michael Wagener mix the project. After careful consideration, the original remaining members have decided to release "RESTORATION." "RESTORATION" is set for release on December 7th and features the original recordings of the tracks "Lost Reality" and "Self Destruct."
The "Restoration" [cover art] tracklisting is as follows:

British grindcore legends Napalm Death has announced that they will be embarking on a headlining tour of Europe this November, along with Macabre, Immolation and Waking The Cadaver. A message from vocalist Barney Greenway reads as follows:
"Having just returned from a string of dates in Thailand, Australia and Japan, it's a great feeling to know that Napalm is able to get out far and wide. Despite the fact that Napalm has trail-blazed across the world, I still hope next year there will be a few new places that we can set foot in where other bands just don't go. That's still a great source of excitement.
"Back in Europe, we're pleased to be coming back on tour again in November. There are old mates in Macabre and Immolation especially, and so it'll be good to round off the touring for Time Waits.. with a real blowout amongst friends. We'll be turning the setlist on it's head, I think, so expect a few things you haven't heard perhaps from the mists of time. Hopefully we'll know what the fuck we are doing when we come to play all that stuff.
"Which leads us into a new album, which we'll begin to piece together in January next year. Expect even more short, sharp shocks from what Shane and Mitch have told me so far on the music front, and lots of stop-start spontaneity. No finished lyrics as yet - I'm waiting with baited breath on the first nasty-sounding MP3 roughs so I can lock myself away and get going."
The tour dates are as follows: More...
As Virgin Steele has wrapped up recording for their new album, "The Black Light Bacchanalia," and is currently in mixing mode, David DeFeis gives us another weekly studio update. (Read Update #1, Update #2, Update #3 and Update 4.) In it, he also discusses many of the songs on the album. Here's what he has to say about it:
And here it is the final week of preparation for the album...Yes we are in mix mode and the songs are all starting to come alive. But there is still a ton of work to do, as this is one seriously long album. I don't think that I will do such a long Work again. This is quite insane...But anyway...the outcome is quite interesting for me. The epic, Barbaric & Romantic sound that people have come to know from VIRGIN STEELE is certainly in evidence on these tracks, but there is also some new ingredients that showcase another side of the Group. To me this one sounds polished yet very raw. There is a wildness to it, and a kind of recklessness that I enjoy. The drums are very live sounding....kind of like that Zeppelin open kit sound, and the guitars on some of the tracks are 7 string, so coupled with the bass and the various keys, there is a nice thickness all around. I am quite happy with the way several tracks I worked on today are turning out. TO CROWN THEM WITH HALOS & NECROPOLIS have big guitars, frantic drumming, the occasional classical keyboard flourish and raw throaty vocals. It is all very honest, heartfelt passionate music, and if you enjoyed what have done in the past, then I think you will like this one as well. I am trying to achieve the sound I hear in my head, and little by little it is arriving. I honestly wish I had another month to complete this, but I always go through that with every album...so all is normal I suppose...but this one has been a tough birth.
OK, time for wine and passing out....I've been at this for over 15 hours already.
Hail & Cheers to you all. Thanks for listening.
BY THE GODS & GODDESSES,
The Greek melodic metal band FIREWIND, led by young guitar sensation Gus G., has returned with the scathing new studio album "Days of Defiance." The disc is set for an October 25th release worldwide.
The video for the album’s blistering lead-off single, “World On Fire,” can now be viewed exclusively at MetalSucks. The clip was shot by the renowned Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Lacuna Coil).
FIREWIND will celebrate the album’s release with a limited number of special North American headlining shows. The trek, which kicks off on November 4th and runs through November 7th, features Powerglove and The Absence in the support slots.
Gus G. states: “The video for ‘World on Fire’ was shot entirely on green screen and I think this time Patric Ullaeus has outdone himself! The concept is based on the album cover artwork and it's something we're doing for the first time on a video of ours. There's a barbaric vibe to it, lots of fire, metal warriors and even a Valkyrie. We're very pleased with the final result and we believe this is our best video yet. Check it out and let the FIREWIND rage on.
“We are also very happy to announce four special album release shows in North America this fall in support of our new record, Days of Defiance. It's been awhile since FIREWIND played North America, as our last tour was Spring/Summer 2008.
“This is a very special run for us, as it will be the first time we'll play the new songs live. It also might be awhile until we come back for a full North American run, so we REALLY hope to see many of you come out to these shows. We'll be sure to rock you to the ground and that's a promise!”
Here are the FIREWIND headlining shows:

Portuguese death metallers SHADOWSPHERE have issued the following update:
"After four years since Hellbound Heart’s edition, Shadowsphere is back with a renewed line-up and a new album on the way. With the release date set to the first months of 2011 and a name to be revealed soon enough, Shadowsphere are now Ricardo Trincheiras on the guitar, Emídio Ramos on the drums and Nelson Dionísio (a.k.a. Ned) on the bass, thus joining forces with Luís Goulão and Paulo Gonçalves. This is undoubtedly the strongest line-up in the last few years in the personal and composition levels, according to the veterans’ opinion. To get further information go to www.myspace.com/shadowsphereofficial or the band’s official Facebook page or get in touch through the official e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org."
