Century Media's 3 Inches of Blood has a cover of the classic Rush song, "Anthem" featured in the film and directly following the premiere the band will be performing at the official after party. "When perpetual slacker Lloyd (Evan Williams) and his two best friends ask their history professor, Derek (TRAILER PARK BOYS' Mike Smith), for an extra-credit assignment, he challenges them to unseat him as the dread lord of his deteriorating LARPing (Live Action Role Playing) league. But this will be no simple grade-grab. Getting to Derek will mean battling a string of dedicated (and downright deranged) Demons & Dwarves players, including a pack of bloodthirsty Danes and a somewhat misplaced Vulcan.
"Featuring a cast of cult-comic favourites including Brian Posehn, Harland Williams and FUBAR's Andrew Sparacino (who also appears in A LEGEND OF WHITEY), and directed by Calgary's Michael Peterson, LLOYD THE CONQUEROR is a no-holds-barred fantasy romp that casts a 12-sided eye on a much-misunderstood subculture. Whether you're a die-hard D&D fan or a newbie to all things geek, get ready to be won over by Lloyd and his merry band of adventurers."

We're psyched!"

Swedish metallers Evergrey are officially kicking off their North American tour today in Atlanta, GA as part of the Prog Power Festival. Following their Prog Power performance, Evergrey will be criss-crossing North America through October 12th with support coming from The Abscense, Sabaton, and Powerglove.
Drummer Hans Van Dahl is ready to take on North America and commented, "Man, It´s been quite a while since Evergrey polluted the North American ears last time! Now we´re out with a new record called 'GLORIOUS COLLISION' and all I can tell you that we're super psyched to crush every venue on this North American collision tour down to the ground"
Guitarist and vocalist Tom Englund also commented on the band's lineup changes, "The most recent Evergrey line-up had reached a point where we no longer had fun as a group," he confesses, adding: "So we went our separate ways to save our friendship. There were no angry words, and we're still friends privately. In the beginning, we weren't sure whether we'd be able to write a new album without the wealth of experience that the previous line-up brought in. But after [keyboardist] Rikard and I had composed a full three numbers during the first week, we felt that was a real coup."
"This may sound like a contradiction in view of our personnel situation," said Tom, "but Rikard and I have allowed more influences on 'Glorious Collision' than ever before. Some elements on 'Glorious Collision' are classic rock, based on a metal format; sometimes the tracks are quiet and haunting, sometimes wild, demanding and gripping."
You can catch Evergrey live on the following dates: More...

Whitechapel front man Phil Bozeman recently posted the meanings behind every song on each of the band's three albums: "The Somatic Defilement," "This Is Exile," and "A New Era of Corruption." Bozeman had the following to say about the songs:
"Single File to Dehumanization - Yet another dream I had. All I remember was being in a line of people that didn't end and I was unaware of where I was going but I couldn't get out of the line. To this day, I have no explanation for the dream. This is also to do with how it seems in real life.
"Necro-mechanical - This song is about us as drones to life and how we let ourselves become what we could easily control. This is another dream of mine awaking as a machine and controlled by someone else. It was beyond frightening.
"Prayer of Mockery - This song is portrays my disbelief in God after everything that happened to me. I was angry and consuming myself with evil and darkness. This is what I let myself become and what I was, and I am not proud of it. All that has changed now but I still remember and will never forget what I was letting myself slip into. More...
Australian power metal band Pegazus announced more information about the upcoming "In Metal We Trust" tour this fall. The band has confirmed dates and will feature a very special tour lineup. The press release reads as follows:
"The Australian Metallers of PEGAZUS have just announced some very special news concerning the touring line-up for the upcoming shows for the 'In Metal We Trust' tour.
"Due to the fact that both Ange Sotiro (Drums) and Cory Betts (Bass) will not be available for touring duties because of serious working-related issues, the band has asked 2 well-known names from the past to join the band for the upcoming shows in Melbourne and Europe !
"Ange Sotiro will be replaced by no one other than co-founder of Pegazus and former drummer Robbie Stoj ! Johnny and Robbie Stoj created Pegazus in 1993 and Robbie was the drummer from it's beginning till 2003, when he had to unfortunately leave the band due to a serious hand injury. In the past few months he has felt very comfortable and back into the groove of being back behind the drum-kit again and will now replace Ange for the upcoming shows. Robbie Stoj comments on the recent events : 'Looking forward to getting back to Europe, seeing old and new friends and fans. Great to be back touring, especially with Pegazus. This line up has got a lot to be seen to be believed. These will be really great shows.'
"And the surprises will continue as Cory Betts will be replaced on bass by the former Pegazus vocalist Rob Thompson! After Rob left the band in 2008, he always stayed in close contact with his former band-mates. The band knew that Rob is a great guitarist and bass-player as well, so without any doubts he was asked to replace Cory Betts for the tour. Rob Thompson about his "return" for the upcoming shows: 'When I was asked if I was interested to do these shows with Pegazus as their bass player, it was a no-brainer for me. I have always loved the band and it makes no difference to me if I'm the lead singer or the bass player. Being on stage with those 4 guys is all that matters and it's a unique opportunity which I never thought would happen. The rehearsals so far have shown already that this line-up is gonna kick some ass and you'd better not miss this!'
"It has taken the band 13 years to finally return to Europe and the excitement is overwhelming. Founder and guitarist Johnny Stoj comments on the tour and the two guest-appearances from Robbie Stoj and Rob Thompson : "It's definitely been a long time coming and I can't wait to finally be back in Europe rippin' it up on stage with the boys. Having both Robbie and Rob on this tour is going to be a BLAST!"
"Also vocalist Justin Fleming is thrilled with all the recent happenings : 'I'm really pumped to go to Europe and destroy some PA's over there. I hope the fans will not miss the opportunity to see this very special line-up. For Rob and myself, it will be the first time to hit the stages in Europe and being able to do that with this line-up will be an experience none of us will ever forget.'"

Finnish symphonic power metal band Stratovarius announced that long time German drummer Jörg Michael has left the band for "personal reasons." It was announced in late 2010 that Michael was diagnosed with cancer, but there was no indication as of yet that the diagnosis was related to his departure.
Stratovarius issed the following statement:
"Stratovarius, one of the most successful Finnish acts with over 2.5 million albums sold, says farewell to longtime drummer Mr. Jörg Michael who will leave the band after 15 years for personal reasons. Jörg will play all the remaining tour dates until the end of January, and will celebrate with a special Finnish "Farewell Jörg" tour in Finland November 18th - 26th.
"Jörg joined the band in 1995 and the first Stratovarius album he played on was Episode (1996). He played on nine albums and nearly 1000 shows with the band.
" 'The rest of us just has to accept Jörg's decision with a lot of sadness and wish him all the best for the future. But we can also assure that the band will still go on', says the singer Mr. Timo Kotipelto.
The band and Jörg are not going completely separate ways though, since Jörg will still be working for the band with his booking agency Twisted Talent Concerts. 'Our long journey of over fifteen years together has not ended yet, as Jörg remains among our background forces - and we couldn't be more happy about that. Not only has he been a great drummer but also a close friend and a true professional. We're honored to have Jörg by our side for this farewell Tour. We can't wait to rock with our 'German Steamroller' one last time! These shows will be unforgettable for all of us', Kotipelto continues." More...
