Truth Corroded is pleased to announce that the band will be supporting Fear Factory on an upcoming Australian tour in late September.
"For us, the opportunity to perform alongside Fear Factory has been a long time coming," comments Truth Corroded vocalist Jason North, "Dino and Burton actually saw us play our third ever show at a VIP event they attended while the band were touring Australia over a decade ago. It's awesome to have them invite us to play the whole Australian tour and to finally get the chance to share the stage together."
It's been a very active year for Truth Corroded, who toured Europe earlier this year with Malevolent Creation, Krisiun, and Vital Remains. Upcoming shows are as follows:
SEPT 26 - Hi Fi, Brisbane
SEPT 27 - Hi Fi, Sydney
SEPT 28 - Hi Fi, Melbourne
SEPT 29 - Adelaide Uni Bar, South Australia
Texas space jammers Wo Fat are streaming all five tracks from their new album "The Black Code" over on YouTube. Below is an upload of the song "The Shard of Leng," and you can access the other four songs on the same page. The psychedelic blues/doom band formed a decade ago with Kent Stump on guitar, drummer Michael Walter and Tim Wilson on bass. Their sound is influenced by artists ranging from Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top and Hawkwind. The vinyl treatment of "The Black Code" just hit the streets as well, limited to 150 black, 175 opaque orange, and 175 transparent blueish-green copies.
Folksy, psychedelic rock outfit Hexvessel is now only a handful of days away from the official release of sophomore full-length effort "No Holier Temple," which reflects on the idea of sacred places in nature. While perhaps not a traditional theme metal heads may be exposed to, except for outside a few folk metal bands, Hexvessel sits in that nebulous area between genres where fans of the extreme and the mainstream can come together to enjoy something a bit different.
Described more accurately as "neofolk" than "metal," Hexvessel still sits proudly on the Svart Records roster along with some truly dark acts. While diving into the band's new release in an interview, Mat "Kvhost" McNerney discussed the kinship between styles of music and how fans of devastatingly heavy sounds can get a needed fix from "No Holier Temple." An avowed fan of the underground, Mat also shared his love of unknown local Finnish acts, how this new album has changed musically from the first release, and how the band ended up with Svart Records. The new album from Italian metal outfit Forgotten Tomb will be released on the 30th of October in Europe and on the 6th of November in North America. The cover artwork and track listing for "...And Don't Deliver Us From Evil" can be viewed below. Agonia Records also commented:
"...And Don't Deliver Us From Evil is the title of the 6th full-length album from Italy's Forgotten Tomb. More powerful and straight to the point, the album begins where it's antecedent - Under Saturn Retrograde - melodically ended. The directions of the new release may vary however over the last year's offering, as the band submerges into more dark, horror-like regions and underground scenery, serving us a more steady and mature recording. Forgotten Tomb is still obscure, melodic and still follows its own negative path - continuously experiencing with sound and imaginativeness. But as fans of the formation may already know, the Italian outfit is likely to surprise the listener during the long and complex compositions, smuggling mainstream-music elements and wise song-structures into the outwardly seamy and fearsome metal landscapes, making the obvious music sub-genres sound not that obvious any more."
According to songwriter Ferdinando "Herr Morbid" Marchisio, this new album is the most personal one he has written since 2004's "Love's Burial Ground" and it explores the darkest corners of his mind like never before, making it without any doubt one of the band's more tortured and twisted offerings. The album was recorded in Elfo Studio (Italy) by Daniele Mandelli (Love’s Burial Ground, Negative Megalomania, Songs To Leave, etc.) and mastered at Finnvox Studios (Impaled Nazarene, Amorphis, Children Of Bodom, Finntroll, HIM). The album can be pre-ordered at this location. More...

Digmetalworld, in conjunction with Portaldisc/KulMusic, has announced that a preliminary line-up of bands has been confirmed for the compilation "La Educacion, Nuestra Razon." The anthology will feature ten Chilean metal bands and veterans of the scene, each contributing a song to bring heightened awareness the the cause of nationwide free education in Chile. The concept that "La Educacion, Nuestra Razon" emphasizes is that education should be the right of the masses and not a privilege of the wealthy or private sector.
With a tentative release date in early 2013, Digmetalworld has established November 2nd as the cut off date for artists wishing to submit a song. Currently, the bands Rex, Sinsilencio, Ultra Mortal, Rajavana, Krudo, Pirosaint and Ratzinger have confirmed their presence on the compilation. Ivan Vega of Ratzinger wrote the track "R3volucion" especially for the album, and even Sr. Diaz of veteran old schoolers Vastator will be backing up Pirosaint on vocals.
This will be one of the first musical offerings from Pirosaint since 1997, and Sr. Diaz backing them up was opportune considering the band currently has no vocalist while they audition for the spot. Sebastian Osorio from the band Raining will even contribute guitar solos to Pirosaint's selection for the album, which will be the second time they collaborate after working together on 2010's track for the Chilean earthquake relief. Pirosaint will take a brief detour from it's thrash origins into more power, melodic turf for their track.
The ten songs on the outing will be all distinct styles across the spectrum of metal, all coming together to highlight a cause that is important to them and their countrymen. Bands wanting to submit their music for consideration on the digital release "La Educacion, Nuestra Razon" can get information on submitting their music here. More information will be given as more bands confirm for the release. More...

Existem is proud to announce the release of the band's first full-length record, "Years of Winter," this coming September 14th, 2012. Existem commented:
"Composed by the band in the year following the release of their self-titled EP, Years of Winter features 53 minutes of new music across 11 tracks. The album is centered on the concept of environmental degradation – how Earth has suffered at the hands of man, and what, if anything, can be done to reverse the damage.
"Years of Winter was recorded in the spring of 2012 with producer Anthony Richkas. It introduces several new concepts and influences to the established Existem sound – among them, the band’s first instrumental songs, the introduction of new drummer Matthew Chipman, unusual instrumentation such as the glockenspiel and mandolin, and guitarist Chris Gochis stepping into the role of lead vocalist.
"We set out to diversify our songwriting as much as we could. It’s a much more colorful record than the EP. There’s so many new elements that people might not expect to hear from us, or even to hear on a metal record. It really is a true progression of our sound.
"The album will be made available digitally on our bandcamp for a price of $7, with a CD format release to follow. Listen to the first single, 'Slay the Giant,' below on the band’s YouTube page." More...

Every week in Unearthing the Metal Underground, we take a look at three quality bands that haven't gotten as much exposure yet as they should. This week, we will be taking a look at three heavy metal bands from Scotland, since it seemed criminal that we hadn't already. There is currently a tourism commercial airing for the country which opens with the line, "Scotland may surprise you," which is certainly evident in its metal scene, containing everything from traditional thrash metal to pagan black metal, and everything in between.
Another band formed in 2006 is Cerebral Bore, who hail from Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, and perform a brutal brand of death metal that lives up to the harder than nails reputation of the city on the River Clyde. They released their first demo, "The Dead Flesh Architect" in 2006 and soon found themselves garnering attention internationally, making their first trip abroad in August the next year to perform in New York, and have since gone on to perform in many other countries including Russia, India and Israel, as well as supporting some legendary names in extreme metal such as Brutal Truth and Suffocation. In 2010, they signed to Earache Records and released their full length debut, "Maniacal Miscreation," the next year. While touring for the album, the band made headlines when guitarist Paul McGuire and bassist Kyle Rutherford were falsely arrested and jailed in New York on suspicion of murder. The two were released a week later without charge and flown back to Scotland. The band recently released a single entitled, "Horrendous Acts of Iniquity," as well as completing the Summer Slaughter tour which also featured the likes of Cannibal Corpse and Exhumed and will be kicking off a European tour this Friday (September 14th) in Lindau, Germany and last until October 14th.
