Doro Pesch is an incredible metal musician with a career that spans the decades without loss momentum. Gaining fame with her band Warlock, Doro has lead a very successful career with her band that's named after her. Recently, she took the mic for some dates with Dio Disciples, a band in tribute to the late, great Ronnie James Dio. And on the eve of releasing a career-retrospective DVD in America, Doro is keeping busy with recording a new album and touring the world. I had the honor of talking with Doro Pesch about the new album and DVD, the loss of one of metal's greatest musicians, and how she got into music as a child. More...
BrooklynVegan is currently hosting a premiere of "Beyond Embers and the Earth" from post-black metal duo Falloch. The song comes off the band's upcoming "Where Distant Spirits Remain" full-length debut, set for release via Candlelight Records on September 27th.
Commented Falloch's Andy Marshall: "'Beyond Embers...' was a song we wrote after a trip to the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands last Winter. The majestic landscape was glowing with frost, it was amazing! We went walking through the mountains and forests in the deep snow and the atmosphere was incredible. The song is about how isolated I felt at the time with only the sound of the wind to keep us company. Being so far away from urban life/culture was such a liberating feeling."

Inmate has checked in with the following recap of the shooting for the "Without Warning" music video:
"On the 22nd May we filmed a video for our first single Without Warning from the upcoming debut album Free at Last. The video is directed by Mitja Legat from Kranj who made a lot of great sports videos about skating and snowboarding. This was Mitja's first experience of making a video for a metal band, so we didn't know what to expect. But as soon as our preparations for the scenes started, we realized immediately that Mitja was very motivated.
"While this is our first video, its story line was decided to be as simple as possible. 3 different scenes were chosen, focusing on representation of the band itself (a lot of details of all members, their instruments in action, etc. were shot). As you already know, Marko from LastDayHere is helping us with clean vocals in the studio, so we decided to include him into the video as a guest. When we invited him, he responded instantly. He really fulfilled our expectations and also came out with some great ideas for the video.
"Shooting went well and we did everything as we planned. Despite 16 hours of hard work and a lot of headbanging we managed to finish before midnight. We are sure we all did our best and we can't wait to show you the video. Mitja and Marko, we really appreciate your hard work, so again thanks a lot! We would also like to thank our light engineers Crt and Klemen, and also Dado, who helped us to manage the technical settings in the Kulturni center Velenje, where we shot the video. Last but not least, we would like to thank our photographer Tilyen Mucik for outstanding photos and eMCe Velenje for the equipment and six pack of beer. Check out more photos here."

GHOST MUSIC, the new record label founded by GHOSTFEST creator Toyan St Hilaire, has announced that its first signing will be U.K. metalcore’s rising stars, SILENT SCREAMS.
Previously unsigned, the band has racked up some impressive credentials during their short time together, completing extensive tours of Australia, Europe and the UK, supporting the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Your Demise, For The Fallen Dreams and Emmure along the way.
After honing their skills on the international live circuit, the band then quickly hooked up with world-renowned producer/engineer Joey Sturgis (Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Miss May I) to record their debut album, "When It Rains," a record that upon first listen, immediately prompted the Ghost Music owner into action.
Toyan explains: “As soon as I heard the new SILENT SCREAMS record, I just knew it was gold – I just knew I had to do something with it… ‘When It Rains’ made such an impact on me that I’ve decided to finally put my money where my mouth is; hence GHOST MUSIC was born! I’m super excited to be working with this band and their record!”
James Ryan, vocalist with the band also comments on the signing: “We are really happy to be working with Ghost Music - Being the first band on the label is a real honour and a privilege! Ghost Music has opened up so many doors for us already, so we’re really hopeful for what the future may hold, for both the label and us. We can’t wait for you all to hear this album!”
"When It Rains," the debut album from SILENT SCREAMS will be released via GHOST MUSIC on the October 24, 2011.

German melodic death metal act Night In Gales posted a new track "The Neon Grave" through Lifeforce Records Facebook Page. The track appears on the band's forthcoming fifth release entitled "Five Scars" due out November 7, 2011 (Europe) and November 8, 2011 (North America).
"We're pretty much looking forward to the release of 'Five Scars' and whatever may come with that for Night In Gales - but for the moment, listen to 'This Neon Grave' and enjoy a fresh breeze of classic melodic death metal," comments singer Bjoern Goosses.
Dan Swano, who mixed and mastered the new album, also commented: "Working with Night In Gales was pure bliss for me. The material is very strong due to the fact that it's been around for quite some time now, and it feels almost like a 'Best of' album sometimes, because it's so solid all the way through. Working on this album actually ignited a spark in my own writing and I came up with one of the best Death/A.O.R. songs I have ever written, during the mix of this album!! Easily one of the best Melodic Death Metal releases of the year!!"
