This week a new video from Sammy Hagar and Friends and a rock and roll hair flashback that goes way, way back. It’s been 25 years since the classic Sam Kinison version of “Wild Thing.” Putting these two videos together confirms what I’ve suspected: EVERYTHING has changed since 1988! More...
After a 3-year lull since their last trek west, Poland’s extreme metallers Vader are returning to the U.S. to headline the "Back To The Black 2013" tour with Vital Remains, Sacrificial Slaughter, Execration, and Extremely Rotten.
The tour launches on September 6th in Santa Ana, California and boomerangs back to The Whisky in Hollywood, California for the tour-closing show on September 29th.
While Vader' headlining set will definitely include selections from 2011’s "Welcome To The Morbid Reich," frontman/guitarist Peter W. states the band will reach as far back as 1994’s "Sothis" EP to satisfy long-time fans.

After the release of sophomore LP "Sky Burial" via Relapse in March, Richmond’s Inter Arma is already back to work in the studio.
For the next ten days, the band will be bunkered down in Madison, Tennessee-based Dark Art Studios with producer Mikey Allred -- the same surroundings and setup that captured the monolithic "Sky Burial" LP.
"There’s no title yet, but it’s a forty-plus minute piece that was originally written during the summer of 2009 and only played out a few times," stated guitarist Trey Dalton on the track. "We'll have some different people doing guest appearances (noise, synth, strings, vox, and more) as well. We’re trying to make the most completely off the wall shit yet."
Further details on the recording will be released in the coming weeks upon completion. In the meantime, Inter Arma has been confirmed to perform at a pair of late Summer stateside music festivals, including a set alongside Pig Destroyer, ASG, Sleep, Kurt Vile and more at this year’s massive Hopscotch Fest in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 5th, followed by a spot on Boomslang Festival in Lexington, Kentucky the weekend of September 20th. Inter Arma has also been confirmed to storm Holland in 2014 as part of the annual Roadburn Festival. Expect further tour actions to be announced shortly.
Venezuelan born 14-string guitarist Felix Martin has unveiled a new playthrough video for a song from his Prosthetic studio debut, "The Scenic Album," scheduled for release on September 17th. Check out "High Spirit" below. You can also see Martin's custom 14 string at this location.
"High Spirit" is one of three "Scenic Album" tracks that were originally included on Martin’s 2012 release, "Live In Boston," which culled material from several concerts Martin performed while he was attending the city’s prestigious Berklee College of Music.
"The Scenic Album" features Martin’s fellow Berklee alumnus Nathan Navarro on bass and acclaimed drummer Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Necrophagist, Steven Wilson). Described by Metal Injection as "the perfect balance of composure and technicality," the album combines instrumental progressive metal with elements of jazz, fusion, funk and world music. The track listing is as follows:

"A bit of sad news coming your way, after much problems with members leaving at the beginning of the year, we've all kinda lost out way in terms of what direction we want this band to go in, thus being said, we have decided to call it a day under the Rise With Honour name!
"We can't even begin to tell you how thankful we are to each and every one of you that ever came to a show, chatted to us on the street or privately messaged us, we have enjoyed every minute of this band, we are somewhat sad that this can't continue but a small time local band that has supported the likes of Bleed from Within & Broadway, not to mention also the 40000+ views we have on our music video for Sinking Ships, we personally never expected any of this, not a milestone by any means but quite an achievement nonetheless
"Can't even begin who to thank, you know who you all are, Nick Scholey, the guys in Brace, Dividing The Silence, Akord anyone who has ever put us on a show, Mackie Bros, the list is honestly endless!
"Our last show under the RWH name will be Wake The Deen, so hopefully you will all come down and let's make it one hell of a sendoff! We will confirm what day and time we are on soon as its not been revealed yet, but lets go crazy and smash this show! More...

Toronto’s thrash party monsters Fatality are currently on a two-month North American “Towards Disastour” in support of latest album, "Psychonaut."
Now vocalist Spencer Le Von checks in from the road to share Fatality's debauchery and mayhem filled nights in Florida. Excerpts from the road report are available below, or you can read the full report at DeadRhetoric.com.
On this tour we played a handful of dates in Florida, but the one town that stands out in my mind is when we spent a couple days and debauchery-soaked nights living within the depths of chaos and depravity in a bar called the 321 Local in Cocoa Beach. It all started when we pulled into town the night before our gig. We had nothing to do, and nowhere to go. So we decided to go to the venue we were going to play the following night and start our night that way. To kick things off, we had ourselves a tailgate party complete with beer, BBQ grilling and George Thorogood cranking on the stereo in the parking lot of a Baptist church around the corner.
We went in to check out the bar and met the owner Kevin and the booker David. We had nowhere to sleep and couldn’t afford a hotel, so the owner of the club offered for us to just party all night long and fall asleep on the floor of the bar. We heartily obliged. The next few hours are a blur of air drumming and table dancing until late the following morning.More...

Today the musical miscreants at Pitchfork offer up the first sampling of "Last City Zero," the forthcoming debut full-length from recent Neurot Recordings signees, Corrections House. Make a choice: "Serve or Survive" at this location.
The following press release was also issued about the band and coming album:
"A shadowy legion of lost souls, fused together by the impulsive forces of nature and altered states of consciousness, Corrections House is the maniacal creation of Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and their minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury.
"Produced by Parker at Electrical Audio, Soma Studios, 60 Psycho Hum and Nodferatu’s Lair, Last City Zero offers up eight psychologically alarming hymns that span well beyond the traditional confines of sound. At once cold, mechanical, prosaic and pungent, Last City Zero is a full body experience rather than a casual listen."
Comments Fairbury of the new song: "How can the choice be any clearer? The less Serving you do, the more chance you have to Survive. Serving is rarely a positive experience and Surviving, although a victory of sorts, is truly the most basic form of existence. Either way, you’re fucked." More...

A389 Recordings this week proclaims the signing of Columbus, Ohio-based death dealers Empire of Rats, and the impending release of a vindictive self-titled debut this Autumn.
Today Lambgoat dishes out the first public beatdown from "Empire Of Rats" with a stream of the track “Another Minute In Hell” available below. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"A cast of warriors who have collectively done time in Palehorse, Under One Flag, Pitboss 2000 and countless others unify in their hateful talents in Empire of Rats, forming a devastating style which is a brutal reminder that heavy hardcore is alive and well. On their self-titled debut LP these scene-veterans have created a perfect record that is sincere, energetic and unapologetically pissed-off without coming off as paint-by-numbers, an eleven-anthem dose of metallic, unsuppressed aggression with a style will inspire fans of Hatebreeed, 100 Demons, Cold As Life, Ringworm, Crucified, Homewrecker and the like to seek street revenge on their enemies in no time. Bearing cover art by Linas Garsys, the deal is sealed and now A389 will release the album via download and 12” vinyl on October 1st, 2013.
"Having stormed crowds live regionally across American wastelands including pit-fueled sets at U.S. festivals including The Rumble, This Is Hardcore and more, EMPIRE OF RATS will announce new live throwdowns and tour actions in support of the looming LP over the coming months." More...

I am extremely grateful for being a part of Leprous for the last couple of years, for all the great memories and experiences, the ups and downs, and for being able to share them all with the rest of the guys in the band. Recorded by the band at the band's own facility in Wales, "VI" was mixed by Thomas 'Plec' Johansson and is the first album to feature new drummer Michael Hourihan in all his glory. The album is augmented by a new version of "Shellshock", (originally released on the 1989 album "In Search Of Sanity").

'VI' is the most brutal and technical album Onslaught has ever made; no question, it's ‘Old School, but it's contemporary and it's fucking aggressive in the extreme, with a few big surprises thrown in for good measure..! We’ve gone about the whole album making process with a completely different approach and mind set this time, ranging from the artwork (by Par Oloffson) through to the final mixes with Thomas ‘Plec’ Johansson, who I must single out for mention along with our drummer Michael Hourihan; he was really upping the ante in the ass kicking stakes!
