Australian funeral doom band Tempestuous Fall recently issued its five-song album "The Stars Would Not Awake You." One of the tracks has made it's way into YouTube upload form, "Beneath a Stone Grave," which is streaming below. All of the songs average over ten minutes apiece of epic dreariness, which you can surmise from the tracklisting below. Tempestuous Fall is yet another project of Dis Pater, who is the creative force behind the band Midnight Odyssey and The Crevices Below. God Forbid has announced the band will be canceling its previously scheduled performance at HeavyMTL this weekend due to Doc Coyle being robbed in San Antonio. The band comments, "God Forbid is sorry to have to cancel their performance at this years Heavy MTL! Due to reasons beyond our control! (Remember when Doc's bag was stolen, his passport was in the bag!)"
Doc also posted the following message on Sunday:
"So two days ago in San Antonio, someone stole my bag out of our dressing room with my MacBook pro laptop, iPod, hard drive, headphones, passport, toiletries, etc. It was in a beat up Swiss Gear backpack. If anyone who was there saw anything suspicious or lives in the area recognizes any of these items, please let me know. I do everything with my computer. Communicate, create music. This sucks big time, but it's just stuff. I am lucky I have my health. So many are less fortunate."

Nergal, the prolific front man of blackened death metal act Behemoth, has announced the band will begin rehearsals for a new album in September, following performances at several European festivals over the next two weeks. The new release will follow the band's latest album "Evangelion" (reviewed here).
Additionally, the band will embark on a tour of Eastern Europe in the fall. More tour dates and news regarding brand new music from Behemoth will be released as it becomes available. Nergal elaborates on the upcoming tour dates: "This is what I call the perfect ending of a touring cycle. Finally, we are arriving in Eastern European and South American shores this fall. I know it's been ages…and I know there've been legions waiting for us…on behalf of the band I must say though: the wait is over; we are coming back rejuvenated and hungry! See you all very soon!"
Nergal is also proud to announce that he will be endorsing Demon Energy Drink. As in every project Nergal approaches, this will be on his own terms: a portion of the proceeds will benefit the DKMS foundation. The DKMS foundation raises awareness and funds to benefit those diagnoses with various forms of blood cancer. For more information, and to find out how to get involved, please visit this location. Propagandhi has emerged with new material as Lambgoat.com premieres the new single “Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report).” The song is released in anticipation of the band's September 4th Epitaph release "Failed Sates." Check out the track in the player below, or via Lambgoat.
“I would say Failed States is a little less ‘modern’ sounding than Supporting Cast(e) in terms of sonics, “ says Chris Hannah. “It’s probably a more accurate portrayal of what we sound like in our jam space....it sometimes feels like we haven’t had a record that genuinely sounds like us playing in a room together since the mid-90s. I felt more surprised—in a good sense— by Failed States when it was done than I did about Supporting Cast(e)."
The following press release was also issued about the album: "The result is one of the band’s most forward thinking and musically varied albums to date. Failed States is not simply proof of Propagandhi's continued dedication to pushing their musical boundaries, but an evocative (and provocative) meditation on human nature, meaning and life under an expanding, planet-wide technocracy. Ranging from dynamic, progressive rock of 'Note To Self' to the accelerated heaviness of 'Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report)' and blazing thrash cuts like 'Hadron Collision' and 'Things I Like,' Propagandhi has created a truly monumental sixth album. Fans can pre-order 'Failed States' now at The Epitaph Store."
Additionally, Propagandhi will kick off a North American tour in September with support from Comback Kid. Dates are listed below. More...

Today Prototype is premiering the first single and title track from the band's new album "Catalyst." The song is being streamed through the band's SoundCloud page, and you can check out the song in the player below. The single will be available for purchase starting August 21st on iTunes.
"We are really stoked to finally unleash some of the music from Catalyst!" said guitarist Kragen Lum. "It's been a long time in the making and we're very proud of the album. Whether you're new to Prototype, you discovered the band by playing 'The Way It Ends' on Guitar Hero III or you've been with us from the beginning, the title track is a perfect example of what we do. Prepare for an epic sci-fi journey!"
Vocalist/guitarist Vince Levalois added, "The song 'Catalyst' sets the tone for the new album, combining aggression, melody and an ominous feel. It's like an action packed movie intro to get you settled in for the ride..." More...

Unique Leader Records has issued the following announcement about signing a deal with Cytotoxin:
"The Chernobyl disaster was a catastrophic nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. Inspired by this catastrophe and its consequences a highly radiated newcomer band called Cytotoxin simply pulverized the German Brutal Death Metal Underground in 2010.
"Always on an exalted technical level but still keeping one eye on songwriting and heavy pounding neck breaker riffs they formed a deadly mixture. Combined with unique and bulldozing live performances their fan base increased rapidly.
"In April 2011 the band released their self produced full length album 'Plutonium Heaven' that with its opening track 'React or Recede' crushed the web community on several platforms. With their burning ambition the band kept on working very hard fine tuning their skills. Only one year later they entered Kohlekeller Studios (Benighted, Powerwolf…) to forge their new extremely contaminated second album 'RADIOPHOBIA' coming out on Unique Leader Records November 6th, 2012. Ready to conquer the world with their new weapon you better keep your gasmask at hand…" More...
Drummer Murray Rawson of London act Brave the Moment has issued the following announcement about leaving the band:
"So, I have decided to part ways with Brave The Moment. With the recent changes and things going through the motions as they do, the way the band is progressing just isn't in total harmony with the way I want to do things. The plan to tour more heavily also makes my home life very difficult due to financial commitments and my working life. Please be in no doubt that as it was with Jake, this is a very amicable move on both parts. We'll all still hang out as we always do.
"I'd like to thank the guys for being part of the best band I've played in, and had the most fun in. Including the amount I've learned throughout. I would also like to apologise to everyone who's bummed out by my decision. I really do appreciate all the support you've showed. I will be looking to carry on playing music. LOTS! More...

You may already know of Inferion's "The Desolate," the black metal whirlwind from Mr. Everything Nick Reyes. But in 2003 Reyes recorded an EP of blast-beaten, aggressive melodic death metal called "Aborted By the Sun" that was recorded under the name Farewell My Angel. The original plan to release the EP was halted after the hard drive with the original mixes/master was damaged in a fire. A recent discovery of those original files led Iraq War veteran Reyes to re-record much of the EP when time permitted during Army Special Forces and Selection Training at Fort Bragg, GA. The EP has now been released under the Inferion banner. Check out the tracklisting and cover art below for "Aborted By the Sun."

Agalloch has taken its listeners on a voyage over various soundscapes ever since their 1999 debut “Pale Folklore.” Lengthy tracks paint audio pictures of biting winds, snow-capped mountains, bubbling brooks, crackling fire places, placid pools of self-reflection, cold apparitions, the Northern Lights and so much more. Their songs convey a wide range of moods, bright and cheerful, calming white or grey with melancholy. The group needs a long set and stage props to create an authentic Agalloch concert.
When Agalloch last appeared in Austin for SXSW 2011 the group left many of their fans disappointed or at least with mixed emotions. They played a short set of mostly newer material, and their stage presented little in terms of atmosphere. Even front man John Haughm commented on how the SXSW show was less than satisfactory. Many of us had waited years, even a decade to see a rare appearance by the band, so in some ways, we were happy just to have seen the band. Still, many went away having not heard their favorite songs. Agalloch’s return to Austin, this time at Red 7, delivered the type of Agalloch performance we hoped and expected. Their 2.5 hour performance featured choice cuts throughout their career. Additionally, they offered a stage show that tantalized the senses. More...
It was recently revealed that the alleged Wisconsin shooter, who reportedly wounded and killed several people at a Sikh temple, was a member of white supremacist band End Apathy. Since then CNN has posted an opinion piece about white power bands written by Lonnie Nasatir, who is the director of the Anti-Defamation League's Upper Midwest Region.
In the article Hatebreed was included in a list of white power bands, which is a charge the group denies. CNN apparently realized the error or was contacted by people upset about the claim, as Hatebreed's name has now been removed from the list and the bottom of the article includes the following update:
A previous version of this commentary incorrectly included the band Hatebreed in a list of white power bands. Hatebreed is a self-described "hardcore metal" band. CNN regrets the error.
The retraction came after Hatebreed posted the following message on Twitter:
"Again @CNN loses all respect. First they ignore the #FREERANDYBLYTHE story now they slander us. We demand a retraction & an apology. #hacks"

Job For A Cowboy has released a new music video for the song "Tarnished Gluttony" via Bloody-Disgusting. Check out the video clip at this location or in the player below. "Tarnished Gluttony" comes off the band's new album "Demonocracy" (reviewed here).
Vocalist Jonny Davy comments: "'Tarnished Gluttony' originally runs off the idea of blind faith into our government and monetary system. The director ran with the idea and spliced it with a H.P. Lovecraftian twist. The video streams the fascination of religion and the actions people justify in the name of religion, and this video is a spin on the old biblical tale of Abraham and Isaac, however, set in the world of Lovecraftian mythology. The point is, acting blindly in faith to a Christian deity is just as absurd as worshiping squid like monsters from space who live under the sea."
Director Michael Panduro adds: "As a commercial director, I'm a complete failure. The band asked for just one thing and I couldn't deliver. Indeed, this video has no boobs." More...

Speaking about the video, guitarist Ol Drake commented: "Surprise! Here's a new Evile music video! Instead of building up any kind of hype and making people wait, we thought we would just throw the latest one at you out of the blue as a treat. We had loads of fun doing this with Ash Pears of AshTV and we really think we've got a video that suits the song greatly. Here is 'In Dreams Of Terror'. And if you're coming to Bloodstock this weekend, you just may hear this one!" More...

Chilean thrash band Warchest recently announced that it will start working on the music video for the track "Fear Of The Machine" that comes off its latest album "Aftershock," which was released in early 2012 via Digmetalworld Records and distributed via MVD Entertainment Group in North America. The filming process is set to start on August 11th in the City of Lampa, outside of Santiago. The process will be done by Warchest and Javier Laso (Madness Recs and last approximately a month from the day that they start shooting the music video. Guitarist/vocalist Chris Pelaez commented on the production:
"We have decided to auto-produce this music video, so we can fit our needs in a better way, and also take the time that is needed to accomplish what we are looking for. We have picked the track "Fear the Machine" so we can showcase our 'Groove metal.' We believe that our latest album has some good shots for music videos, and it will give us the exposure we are looking to get for the band."
