Now just days from full contamination of the human population is the malicious contagion known as "Untoward," borne of Portland-based vermin, Rabbits.
Exhaustingly tracked live to tape at Type Foundry, the engineering duties on "Untoward" were tag-teamed by Jeremy Romagna (Trees, Tecumseh, Wives) and Fester (Nux Vomica, Usnea, Stoneburner), collectively responsible for the majority of the band's previous recordings, then mastered by Ryan Foster at Foster Mastering.
"Untoward" will be released on August 12th via Lamb Unlimited, the label spawned of Chris Spencer of Unsane and Alan Schneider of No More Records.
Invisible Oranges has premiered Divider's new track, "Requisite," which is the world's first taste of the Long Island, New York band's debut album, "All Barren." Listen in below.

An Australian/Polish celebration of barbarism awaits with "A Prophecy of Nihilism," joining together Destruktor and Throneum on a split 7".

Prolific like few others and always committed to the diehard metal cause, Poland's Throneunm follow with "Chtonian Lust," one of the band's rawest and most primal pounders, featuring some tastefully Bathorian soloing during the song's frenzied finale.
The 7" can be ordered via Hells Headbangers here, and the track listing is as follows:

Southern Lord Recordings is about to release the classic works LP from late '80s hardcore act, Brotherhood, placing all of the band's demos and 7" releases in one remastered vinyl anthology entitled "Till Death."
Having raged the West Coast from its 1987 inception to disbanding just over two years later, Brotherhood existed alongside Insted, Bl'ast, Chain Of Strength and Uniform Choice. The members of the band were all bred in the Northwest on The Accused, Poison Idea, The Melvins, and with East Coast threads born of SSD, DYS, Corrosion Of Conformity and Straight Ahead woven into the sound, the group created a powerful strain of straightedge hardcore conveying intolerance for racism and sexism. Relays singer/bassist Sera Timms of the tune, "The main riff [guitarist] J brought in for '...Chalice...' marches in as a transcendent assault with [drummer] Kelly's oppressive, jagged beat moving it forward like some re-animated corpse. In Love Your Mother is gearing up to release "The Great Ape Project" in October, and now a teaser trailer can be found below. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"Describing the music of the wild guys from In Love Your Mother in words isn't easy – and that's a good thing! The sound is living from an unbelievably high and massive energy which is combined in a heavy sound concept. The young band's musical influences are various: Mathcore and Progressive Metal are the base for their experimental and brutal sound.
"These roots and the bands' own pepper end up in a meaty portion MotherCore. The sounds are living from an unbelievable blasting energy which is transported in a brutal sound concept. Everyone will be able to assure himself on October 10th 2014 when the album will be released via Dr. Music Records.
"The idea behind their bandname delivers the content which is also represented in their music: views and insights about the sick and bad world we were warned of by our mothers. With their dissonant, technical riffs and their distinctive, yet genre-typical shouts, In Love Your Mother are playing out their hearts – what is also represented in their lyrics. In the 17 songs of 'The Great Ape Project' singer and guitarist Valentine Baumgartner, bassist Amedo Mauriell and Drummer Andrea Tinner are dealing in a progressively insane way with the fear of themselves ('Signs Of A Medium Life'), but also with the doubts they have towards society ('Ein Hase, Zwei Haese').
"The conventional is refused and the band deals rather with 'Fishpunks,' 'Hedehogs' and 'Haesen. 'Wish Me An Ocean Part 1 & 2' are addressed to the jaded homo sapiens who isn't able to have a look beyond one's own nose and is satisfied with his low cravings. In the first part turned off guitar lines meet hypnotic recoveries, while in the second part, the band dashes straight forward. 'Johnny Rocke Is Not Dead' deals with a dadaistic comic-strip character which swings between madness and fun and its mythology is also a link to Valentin's other Band Vendredi Soir Swing. More personal are the lyrics of 'We're Gonna Dance Till Everyone Is Naked And Fall Apart.' In this chaotic chunk, which is also the first music video, the dreams of singer Valentine where picked in a mixture of an decent boom and intense dreamy vocals." More...

Today the first taste of music from the final Rigor Mortis album "Slaves to the Grave" has been unleashed. The first single, "Flesh For Flies," can be heard below thanks to MetalSucks.net.
Bassist Casey Orr comments on the "Flesh For Flies" song: "Being huge horror fans, and being from Texas, we've always had a special love for the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There's a song on our first record called Slow Death that was a tribute to the original TCM. The song Flesh For Flies is sort of an homage to the second movie, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. This time as told from the killer's point of view. Nothing beats a good old fashioned, chainsaw wielding, inbred cannibal serial killer!"
Vocalist Bruce Corbitt added: "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre of Metal has cooked up our tastiest batches of carcass stew and chainsaw chili for this final meal. Once again.... the original lineup and recipe of Rigor Mortis don't skimp on the meat when it comes to furiously paced metal and excessive amounts of gore. The saw is family, but so is Rigor Mortis... Drayton Sawyer and Leatherface would be proud... RIP Marilyn Burns!" More...

Wintersun mainman/composer Jari Mäenpää posted a lengthy clarifying statement on his previous remarks with regard to the delay in releasing "Time I," as well as his issues on crowdfunding and label Nuclear Blast Records.
Sit back, pull up a chair, grab a snack and a beverage and dig in. The statement goes in detail about the sound mix and issues surrounding "Time I" (see review here) and his battle with perfection. It reads:
"I feel like I need to explain the situation more clearly as some people seem to be a bit confused. So let's get more into the details…
"Let's get one thing clear first, I don´t live in a fantasy world. You might say I´m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to album production. Fine, I´ll give you that. But I do make compromises, lots of them. TIME I was all a huge compromise. The melody guitars are all old modelling amps (not the new Axe-FXs and whatnots which sound pretty decent actually). There simply was not enough budget to record them properly in a professional studio, so they sound pretty horrible and are very hard mix and fit in with the rest of the instruments. The vocals were all recorded in various rehearsal places just with my laptop (the reason why it took so long to record them and also because of the hundreds of vocal tracks I needed to record for these albums). They are certainly not the best quality vocal recordings. Again, another compromise for not having enough budget for a 3rd party professional studio. I also wanted some time to practise my vocals while recording, which I´ve never really done before, but you can hear the improvement. Also I do some of the vocal arrangement work and experiment with different things while recording, this would be impossible in a 3rd party studio. The rhythm guitars were actually recorded in a 3rd party studio, but I didn´t have enough time to craft the sound exactly like I want it. Rhythm guitar is the thing I´m the most perfectionist and passionate about. There´s only a handful of rhythm guitar sounds I like from the millions of heavy metal records out there, so you can imagine how hard it is for me to be able to produce the guitar sound of my dreams in few days in a 3rd party studio. Impossible. And to fit it in with hundreds of orchestration & synth instruments, to not muddy the bass, to be able to scoop the mids so the whole mix doesn't sound like a kitchen radio (I don´t like mids in metal guitars plus the orchestra instruments already eat a lot of the mids space), but still keep the upper mids smooth and not harsh, to not mask the drum overheads, but still having enough modern highs and upper mids attack to have it cut through the mix. This is almost a mission impossible, but I know I could do it in my own time in my own studio... So the time ran out from the studio´s “taximeter” and I was left with unsatisfying guitar sound and very hard to fit in the mix (still had to pay the studio bill though). I was very unhappy about this, but still released the album! The orchestrations were made with just one computer which forced me to use time consuming workarounds and was very stressful. I won´t even get into the technical problems I´ve had to deal with over the years. It took 3 years of sweat and tears to make the orchestrations the way I had to do them. This was the hardest task and it nearly burned me out. Never again this way! I would need a computer farm to do the all the orchestrations in realtime without slow workarounds. More...

Nero di Marte announced that the impending sophomore studio release "Derivae" will drop this fall via Prosthetic Records. The album's title was taken from the Italian phrase "andare alla Deriva" ("to go adrift") and correlates with the lyrical themes, which vocalist Sean Worrell describes as "tragically searching for something that maybe isn't there...letting yourself go and becoming swayed by the unknown."
Three years in the making, "Derivae" was recorded, mixed and mastered using 100% analog without use of any digital post-processing with Riccardo "Paso" Pasini at Studio73 (Ephel Duath, Void of Sleep). Keep an eye out for further details in the coming weeks. More...
