'Cannibalisme, hérésie et autres sauvageries' will unleash Savage Annihilation’s heretic Armageddon upon mankind, joining the Great Old Ones in their quest for the (savage) annihilation of mankind." Guitarist Brian "Deebs" James had the following to say about the writing process for the song and a bit of what fans can expect from the full length: "I am beyond excited to finally release a hint of what is to come and hope everyone enjoys! 'Inertia' was written with an experimental mindset as well as the strong intention of straying away from predictable things many bands tend to do nowadays. I feel like the song turned out exactly how we all imagined which fills me with satisfaction! If one were to base this song off of what the rest of the album is like, I'd say you took an axe to the tip of the ice berg and then just a little bit more..so there's still some curve balls too. We're anxiously waiting to show everyone all of this music we've been working on over the past couple years and look forward to releasing it very, very soon."
Ænimus os currently wrapping up the recording process for the debut album at NB Recording in Santa Rosa, CA with Producer Nick Botelho (Deadly Remains, The Kennedy Veil). A release date has not been set, though the band plans to release it sometime later this year. The track listing is:

The track is one of two original compositions on the album. Listen to the song in the player below or over at the band's website, where pre-orders are also available.
"’Flurries’ is one of two original songs I wrote for the record,” says guitarist JB Brubaker. “It’s the first track on Sleddin' Hill and it’s a dynamic song that begins with a big build-up before kicking into gear. We were able to play with all sorts of layers in this song including strings, lots of different bells and booming war drums. I definitely think the song sets the tone for what is to come on the rest of the record."
In addition to original songs, the 13-track release features fresh takes on classics such as “Jingle Bells,” “Winter Wonderland” and even “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.” The album also compiles remixed and remastered versions of the band’s previous holiday singles, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “Little Drummer Boy” coupled with an updated version of the band’s rendition of “Carol of the Bells,” heard in Frank Miller’s (300, Sin City) movie The Spirit and Seth MacFarlane’s (Family Guy) American Dad. “We're extremely pleased to announce that Asphyx will be playing a special set of their slowest death/doom (only throwing in a couple buzzing, diabolical tracks for good measure) at the Roadburn Festival 2013 on Saturday, April 20th at Het Patronaat in Tilburg, Holland.
"Especially for Roadburn Festival 2013, Asphyx will put emphasis on their most epic, crushing material, played with guts and balls, and which will guarantee pure doom/death rapture. Along the way, Asphyx' undisputable influence on many bands that have shredded Roadburn stages will become apparent as well.”

In what appears to be the real life version of the "golden ticket" from Willie Wonka fame, German gothic death band Atrocity has told Metal Hammer Germany that the plan for the upcoming "Okkult" trilogy is to take one track off of each of the three upcoming releases, destroy all master tapes, and hide the tracks over three continents - Europe, America and Asia - in a "song treasure hunt," starting with the first release in 2013. The "missing tracks" will neither be maintained by the band nor the record label and will never be played again until they are found. Fans are encouraged to find the tracks.
As for "Okkult," Atrocity's plan is to take the sound back to the band's roots with orchestra parts performed by the Lingua Mortis Orchestra under the direction of Victor Smolski (Rage) and recorded in Minsk.
Atrocity frontman Alex Krull was quoted in the article (translation by Google) as saying:
"With 'Okkult' we want to start a very special album trilogy. We have begun to work a long time ago about it. Most recently with the "Die Gottlosen Jahre" DVD, a complex film strip appeared on our more than 25 year career, which even now is to run at film festivals. Reason enough now usher in a new era of Atrocity! Musically, no prisoners will be taken, the "Okkult" series is also violent, bombastic and bleak. This is not only the toughest and most brutal albums ATROCITY be for years, but also the darkest works of our band's history. Lovers of our hard stuff like "Hallucinations", "Death Wish", "Blood" or "Atlantis" are in the "Okkult" series fully come into their own, although the "Okkult" course material has its own unique touch."

Seattle doom quartet Samothrace has just issued the following statement about the band's unfortunate but necessary withdrawal from the pending East Coast tour with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder, which is set to embark in just one week:
"Samothrace is very sorry to announce that we will have to cancel our part on the upcoming tour with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder due to an immediate illness in the family of a band member.
"The most important thing right now is family. We are stoked to have had the opportunity to do the tour and will be planning to make our way out east in the near future. We appreciate the understanding."
Samothrace just wrapped up a five-city West Coast tour last week in support of sophomore LP "Reverence To Stone," released via 20 Buck Spin at the end of July.
