“As we speak I am currently sitting in my home studio (The Bork-tower) in Bergen recording guitars for the new Borknagar album. I have been working 24/7 the last weeks to get out the very best of my abilities and polish all riffs into perfection. I am so excited about this production as we have been planning to take a huge step forward in terms of production and being able to finalize our new effort with Jens at Fascination Street Studio is a perfect match.

This time around there will be no compromise and hopefully you will witness the most powerful, rich, detailed and dynamic Borknagar album to date!"

Denver thrash warriors Havok will embark on another punishing support trek this Fall alongside headliners Exhumed, Goatwhore, and Cephalic Carnage. Set to commence on October 26th in New Mexico, the tour will lay waste to nearly two dozen cities and come to a close in Flagstaff, Arizona on November 20th.
Said vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez: “I’m fuckin’ psyched! This lineup is HEAVY! I’m a fan of all of the bands that we’ll be playing with, so this is gonna be really fun. Even better, we finally get to tour with Cephalic Carnage. It will be cool to show people how bands from Denver throw down. If this tour is anything like our last run with Forbidden, there are going to be some gnarly pits and bloody noses. Anyone that’s going to these shows should be prepared to have a sore neck.”
Added drummer Pete Webber: “We are pumped to announce our tour with Exhumed, Goatwhore and Cephalic Carnage this Fall! Our last tour with Forbidden was one of the best yet and we hope to keep the heat going with this one! We will be hitting some cities where HAVOK has not played in awhile and you all better show your metal faces there!”

Limited Access Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with Mercury Tide:
"Limited Access Records is proud to announce the signing of the melodic metal band Mercury Tide, the new main band of former Angel Dust singer Dirk Thurisch. Beside the record deal for the new album 'Killing Saw,' which will be probably released next spring, Mercury Tide signed a publishing deal with Limited Access Publishing / BMG Rights Management, too. Mercury Tide's current line-up is Dirk's old friend and companion Carsten Rehmann (Unchallenged Hate) on drums, who produced the new album in his CKB Studio in Essen Germany. On keyboards is Sim Reaper and the new bass player is Christian Pohlmann. In the past both played together at the graverockers The Spook."
Limited Access Records label manager Torsten Wohlgemuth also commented about the signing:
"We are very happy about the collaboration with Dirk Thurisch and MERCURY TIDE. The new album is a killer and will not capture only the fans of the debut 'Why?.' Dirk pulled out all the stops. The melodies are shaping directly into the metal heart, catchy riffs and of course his distinctive voice which we all have missed for such a long time."
Dirk Thurisch is also glad about the new record and publishing deal and has got a message for his fans: "Hey folks! We are very happy about the collaboration with Limited Access Records, too. The work makes a lot of fun and we have many goals to reach. First of all we have recorded the new album “Killing Saw“ for you and now we can’t await to present it to you. Live we will have some exciting surprises. For old Angel Dust and our Mercury Tide fans we will perform some old classics. Thank you for being so patiently for such a long time and in return we have a great album for you. It has been worth waiting and I cannot await to see you all back on tour again!“

Low Twelve, in conjunction with Bassline Video, has produced a music video for the song "Brutal World." This song originally appeared on the band's debut CD release "Flesh of the Weak" in December of 2000. The band re-recorded the song with its current lineup in early 2011 at Sonic Haven Studios in Bloomington Illinois. This re-recording of the song will appear on the band's next CD release, "Skin in the Game," due out in early 2012 on DBC Records. The band commented on the clip:
"The music video was shot in May in the group's hometown of Bloomington Illinois at an abandoned commercial building in the process of being demolished. At the time of the video shoot, the facade and some of the parking lot was demolished, making the building safe to occupy, but leaving behind an interesting backdrop of crumbling concrete, hanging water pipes, and broken glass.
"The music video was directed, edited, and produced by Low Twelve frontman Pete Altieri with his newly formed Bassline Video company. They also hired photogapher Mary Heern of Fia Marie Photography for stills that were used in the video and for promotional purposes."
Pete Altieri also commented, "We couldn't have found a more appropriate place to film the Brutal World video. The place looked like a bomb went off, and we knew that it would look great as a backdrop for the video."
A brand new music video from Polish blackened death metal band Behemoth was recently shot for the track "Lucifer," which is off the bands current release "Evangelion." Edguy has finished the video shoot for "Robin Hood," the opening track from Edguy's forthcoming Album "Age of the Joker" (release date August 26th). Video director Oliver Sommer (Avantasia, Nena, Helloween...) and the band decided to satirize the Errol Flynn version "The Adventures Of Robin Hood" for the clip. The miniature epic was shot in the forest with a large number of additional actors, starring German TV-comedian Bernhard Hoecker in two different leading roles.
Vocalist Tobias Sammet commented: "When you decide to do things like that of course you have to be aware that you will most likely make a fool out of yourself. We had to wear tights and looked a bit like four idiots and one transvestite. But we have come to a point we don't care so much anymore. We feel like being in a luxury position where the record label gives us a lot of money to waste for really silly things like sneaking through the forest and looking like idiots. The shooting was one of the funniest days in our career, and that means something. Although It was hard work - the rain, the mud, soaking wet tights, angry horses, carriage, a lot of travesty, sword fighting and hurting smile muscles. You gotta check it out!"
The single "Robin Hood" will be out on August 5th and will be available as download and on green vinyl. The video version of the song was cut down to 5 minutes, but the album version has a running time of more than 8 minutes. Fans at the Wacken Open Air festival will also be able to see it on the festival screen first. More...

Doogie White, the lead vocalist of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal veterans Tank and former singer of Rainbow and Yngwie Malmsteen, has announced that he will be releasing a solo album through Metal Mind Productions in October. The record is entitled, "As Yet Untitled" and boasts an extensive list of guest musicians including Mick Tucker (Tank,) Derek Sherinian (Black Country Communion) and Whitesnake's Neil Murray, amongst a host of others.
Speaking on his first solo album, the Scottish singer said: "I always thought my first solo album should be called this. The journalists at Sounds and Kerrang! always had a line that so and so are in the studio recording an album, as yet untitled… Well now I have actually done that. I always like to be part of a band but I found myself isolated for a short while and decided to record some of the songs that I had been working on, while either on the road or back at home. I won’t sit around and wait for the phone to ring. A bored Doogie is a dangerous thing! I gathered the good and the great, companions who had travelled the world with me at various times. Friends who I knew were outstanding players and to a man and one beautiful woman they gave freely of their talents and time. I am forever in their debt."
