Finnish metal band Kiuas has called it quits. The band will play its final performance on October 18th at Nosturi in Helsinki. The following announcement appeared on the band's Facebook Page:
"KIUAS IS DEAD, LONG LIVE KIUAS!
"After a long careful consideration and looking at all possible options, we, Kiuas, have decided it is time to put this band to its final rest.
"After four amazing albums, tours and festivals in Finland and around the world and amazing times together, we find ourselves in a situation where we can’t see ourselves evolving anymore as Kiuas and thus believe it is best for all past and present members and partners in crime to lay the name Kiuas to its grave.
"We will not stop making music, not ever, either together or separately, but Kiuas is as of today dead and our visions and plans are to be built on new fresh soil.
"To make sure we go down to our everlasting sleep in honor, Kiuas will play one more show, gathering together the history of the band and all its past members, united once more, in Helsinki’s Nosturi on October 18th.

While the audio disc (and LP version) features the full show recorded at Melodka Music Club (Brno, Czech Republic) on the 19th of November 2011, the additional DVD includes road documentaries full of backstage, bonus, and exclusive material as well as live songs filmed at Hammer Open Air, Noctis Fest, Brutal Assault Festival, the No Mercy European Tour 2007, and more.

"Thell Barrio was born in the year of 2006 in the streets of Santa Margarita, Jalisco by 6 men raised in the troubled and rough hoods in Mexico.
"Inspired by the daily struggle of the working class and low-lifers and the insurging violence of Mexico, they began blending their life stories and musical taste with the influences coming from their favourite bands, such as Sepultura, Brujeria, Fear Factory, Slipknot, as well as sparkles of street music from the Latino culture.
"Touring relentlessly in their own country and Europe, Thell Barrio played with the heaviest bands around and at the heaviest Festivals with the likes of Brujeria, Therion, Agnostic Front, Terror, Bleeding Through, Divine Heresy, A Traitor like Judas, Soulfly, Destruction, Exciter, Megadeth, Fear Factory, Anthrax, Overkill, Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura and many more..." Wyoming rock/metal act on the rise Righteous Vendetta has confirmed an extensive fall touring schedule, including a direct support slot to Taproot on the September/October "Fall to Action Tour" as well as a stint with Trapt beginning on Halloween. A list of all confirmed dates can be seen below.
"The end of this year has really been an amazing turn of events," said vocalist Ryan Hayes. "We are excited to announce we will be both supporting Taproot in September/October on the 'Fall to Action Tour' and Trapt in October/November. As we are about a quarter of the way into our tour dates with 10 Years, the rest of the year is looking to be packed with RV shows. It is surreal to us to be supporting bands that helped us follow our dreams and we anticipate growing relationships with all of them."
Currently on tour with hard rock luminary 10 Years, Righteous Vendetta is gearing up for the release of a new full-length, due out this fall. The upcoming LP will feature new mixes of several tracks from the band's recent EP "Vol. 1" along with four brand new anthems. The band recently completed recording the new album at JTW Recording Studios in Hubertus, Wis. with producer Joel Wanasek who also produced the band's previous effort Lawless.
"The new record is sure to be one of the biggest, hardest hitting mixes in the genre," added Hayes. "It is heavy, catchy, melodic, and will have you singing every chorus after the first time you hear it." More...

Svart Records has announced October 11th as the international release date for Domovoyd's "Oh Sensibility." The following press release was issued about the band:
"Echoing guitars from the grooves of distant space, Domovoyd drone forth their debut album, Oh Sensibility. Detonated in the year 2010, the band has risen to the forefront of the Finnish underground.
"Masters of dark, hypnotic, sprawling hazed-out doom, their music is a flaming celebration of the psychedelic arts, from the temples of Hawkwind to Matt Pike's altar of the riff. Capturing the live energy that has electrified audiences with their unique, heavy dose of rhythmic sludge, Oh Sensibility is an album that drone-heads and doom-freaks cannot afford to miss.
"Swilling the world about in their mouths and spitting it through a cosmic spiral, Domovoyd know how to traverse time and space, and have the necessary intoxicating ingredients to take you there. Saddle up your space rocket and say goodbye to your sensibilities, as Domovoyd, smoking long-dead galaxies in their wake, blast you into the furthest reaches of beyond. Tickets to the cosmos, in the form of CD,LP, and digital can be obtained via terrestrial communication with Svart Records on October 11th 2013. Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of tech savvy grind specialists Maruta. The label comments:
"Founded in the swamplands of South Florida in 2005 Maruta (Mitchell Luna – vocals, Eduardo Boria – guitar, Mauro Cordoba – guitar/bass, Daniel Morris - drums) has been blurring the lines between grindcore and technical death metal ever since.
"The band has released two full lengths through Willowtip records, 2008's 'In Narcosis' and 2011's 'Forward Into Regression,' to very positive reviews. The forthcoming full length and Relapse Records debut promises to follow an upward trajectory of extreme music innovation.
"Maruta will begin recording this next full length with Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer / Agoraphobic Nosebleed at Visceral Sound Studios in Bethesda, MD early next year. This collaboration marks the first time that Scott Hull has agreed to record a band that is not his own, and certainly lays the groundwork for an ear shattering Relapse debut."
Vocalist Mitchell Luna commented on the signing: "Relapse is a label with a very diverse roster, and one that has put out several records in the past that we consider highly influential. A partnership with them just felt like the next logical choice, and we feel like we fit right in." More...

Each member of Dark Angel has come forward to express thoughts about future touring rumors that have been posted across the web, apparently calling into question whether the Keep It True Festival confirmation was correct. Gene Hoglan states:
"I'm here to state that again, DFA is still talking about doing shows in 2014. As of now, none of the members have booked anything in regards to fests or individual dates. Of course, there are the rumors of certain fests being booked, but any talks that may have occurred, were done so without the ENTIRE bands' knowledge and acquiescence, and therefore cannot be deemed as credible. One thing that holds true to us is that we feel that Dark Angel's legacy is in danger of being tarnished if these random acts were to continue. There are a host of valid reasons why Dark Angel has been slow to react to the myriad offers we have received in the past to reunite, but the most important reason is that we wish to do the greatest service possible to our fans, and if that means the time has yet to be right, then the time has not been right. And, concerning the immediate future of 2014, if the time and conditions are not right, then again, they will not be right for all involved. Most importantly, our fans.
"We do realize that yes, reunions are quite the norm these days. Dark Angel however, has never conformed to the norm, and we refuse to reunite unless we can come back and give our fans the most stellar situation possible. Which is precisely what we are working towards behind the scenes. We greatly appreciate everyone's enthusiastic response to the possibility of a proper reunion, and as a unit, Dark Angel will do what will be best. For us and our amazing fan base. Again, we truly appreciate all of you."
Jim Durkin also states:
“To our Kick Ass Fans: It has come to my attention that shows are being booked and promises being made in the name of Dark Angel and some of it's former members. No one as far as I know, has been given authority to speak for or conduct business on behalf of Dark Angel, myself or any other Ex member. Not to mention making any promises regarding the future of the band. There are other Ex members who would love to be Involved in this if it is done correctly! And protect our Legacy!
"I and others behind the scenes here have asked other ex members many times to stop the postings on Facebook, other web sites, and doing interviews regarding the future of the band. But it continues.... This is all premature. There have been NO rehearsals yet, and little if any face-to-face meetings. But we are talking about 2014! I'm all for a guy doing an interview and talking about his glory days with the band. But if you start making unapproved statements about the future of the Band? You're off course! More...
After wrapping up a momentous summer that included a Billboard Top 10 debut for latest album, "Rescue & Restore," and a mainstage spot on Warped Tour, August Burns Red is preparing to unveil another offering, a brand-new DVD entitled "Foreign & Familiar" to release this fall.
