Botswanan groove metal band Wrust has posted a video for the single "Hate 'Em All," which comes from the band's latest album "Intellectual Metamorphosis." The video footage was shot on the 29th of June in Milan, Italy, where Wrust performed at the Rock Festival Solomacelo. Recording took less than two hours and was edited by Lumilean Moving Images, the masterminds behind the upcoming metal documentary film, March of the Gods.
The content of the video focuses on the current state of many governments throughout the world, abusing the freedom of the human race, and embarking on campaigns of violence and oppression. "Hate ‘em All" is an appeal to the authorities: “ I wish you’d set us free...” Next up for Wrust will be a performance at the Augustus Metal Fest, a brutal metal fest featuring bands from Botswana and South Africa. That will take place on Saturday, August 31st at the Bull And Bush in Gaborone.

In anticipation of a forthcoming full-length, set to terrify the masses globally this October, Pitchfork today spews forth the first helping of Gnaw's "Horrible Chamber" in the form of third track, "Water Rite." Check it out at this location.
Comments Pitchfork of the decomposing tune: "... the first philippic from their forthcoming second LP Horrible Chamber is a delightful seven-minute span of punishment. As drums splatter against a multi-dimensional electronic framework, crisscrossing howls and ghoulish utterances suggest Pere Ubu jamming with Wolf Eyes on the bow of a sinking ship. Dubin's venomous speak-sing has lost nothing since Khanate's heyday, but with Gnaw, his stately menace is replaced by red-eyed paranoia."
"Horrible Chamber" will be unleashed via Seventh Rule Recordings on October 15th, 2013. Preorder details to be unveiled in the coming weeks. More...

Prog outfit hAND has checked in with the following update about recording a new album:
"Lots has been happening, first things first, Kintsugi album recording is only 4 weeks away now. We are seriously getting excited (and maybe a bit panicked) about this. We are recording this album in 3 stages, starting with preproduction; tracking the guitar, bass and synth on our home set-up before we head to the studio. This is well underway and sounding delish! Next will be the tracking of the drums and vocals, experimenting with amps and mics and re-amping guitars and bass - that's at the studio in Wales (as well as a few other things) - then a short break before the mixing and production begins.
"Onto the E.P - writing has been going really well and it has certainly been an interesting process. In terms of being finished it's around 75% done, but we are putting it on hold now till after album recording as we need to focus our efforts on Kintsugi.
"We have lots of ideas for what to do for the release of Kintsugi, the word 'vinyl' is being thrown around quite a lot… One thing we definitely want to do is have pre-order bundles with various merch items, including some special limited-edition deluxe bundles. Once the artwork is finalized (which should be pretty soon) we'll be running polls on our FB / Twitter pages to see what items you want included in these bundles. Of course we'll let you know when these go up!
"Stay tuned, of course we'll be posting video, photo and all kinds of updates from the studio and over the next few months! Enjoy the sunshine!"

Now grab a beer, turn the volume to 11 and bang your head like a man possessed."

As "Valonielu" -- the sophomore LP from Finland's cult black metal experimentalists Oranssi Pazuzu -- nears split release on 20 Buck Spin in North America and Svart in Europe in mid-October, today Pitchfork unveils the first single from the album.
Explore the visionary violence of "Olen Aukaissut Uuden Silmän," at this location. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"With ethereal elements infiltrating a stabbing, frigid blackened stomp, the opening elements of Valonielu's fifth track, 'Olen Aukaissut Uuden Silmän (I Have Opened A New Eye),' is the perfect introductory sampling of the celestial expansiveness of the boundless Oranssi Pazuzu's utterly creepy delivery. Possibly the most straightforward of the six expansive songs on the album, while jagged blasts and blitzkrieg attacks appear intermittently, the majority of the track's crushing mid-paced thunder runs rampant with a frigid, unwavering destructive trajectory. Says Yidhra founder and guitarist Dave Krocker: "Working with Bill was awesome. Just the thought of his history, and reading his name on all those influential records, it was kind of crazy. He knows his stuff and he's super easy going. It was great!"
Comments vocalist Ted Venemann: "We went in the studio with a plan to make a record that ebbed and flowed. One that would organically segue, like our live shows, from one powerful emotion to the next and Bill helped us capture all of that intensity and more. "Hexed" is a super heavy and grooving album and we are really proud of what Bill and us accomplished." More...

U.S. metal act Warrion, the band created by guitarist Ron Ravi Warrion, will release its debut LP "Awakening The Hydra" via Pure Steel Records on September 27th. Surrounding Warrion is an all star group consisting of: vocalist Michael Vescera (Obsession/Ex-Loudness/Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen), lead guitarist Tim Thomas (Abattoir/Ex=Agent Steel), bassist Keith Knight (ASKA), drummer Rob Brug (Halloween/Ex-Damien) and guest vocalist George Call (Aska).
The sound is not far removed from the musicians main acts, with European influences in the songwriting; melody lines and heaviness are well balanced. Catchy songs like the title track opener, refined with a good chorus, the straight sounding “Savage," the quietly starting "Adversary," the brisk "Victim of Religion" and the dark sounding "Serpent’s Fire": all classic Power Metal with expressive, charismatic vocals and a sophisticated guitar work which never follows the trends. The production is modern but not at all soulless or undifferentiated.
The track listing is:
1. Creations of the Mind
2. Awakening the Hydra
6. Victim of Religion
7. Serpent’s Fire
9. Lucifer My Guide
10. Earth Fire Water Spirit
11. Hydra Reprise More...
