Maine's Rebuilding the Ruins has issued the following brief announcement about parting ways with vocalist Ricky Vaccaro:
"Sad to say but Ricky has parted ways with us, we wish him the best. We're not going to get into details so please dont ask. That being said we are holding auditions for a new frontman, message us if you want to set something up."
Croatian black metal act Prognan has uploaded the entire new "Jama" EP online for streaming. You can listen to the tracks below or at the band's SoundCloud page. Prognan commented:
"We've decided to share our EP with our fans, there's no better way to thank them for supporting us for almost five years. This new EP is the last release before a new album that we are working on currently. Each song shows a segment of our history, the only way we could convey a full message to the listener and express ourselves the best way possible is by doing the entire lyrics in our language."
The track listing is:

Monday means it’s time to expand your metallic horizons again as we delve into the underground metal scene and dig up three bands you might not had a chance to check out yet, but which all deserve to be heard by a wider audience. This week we’re looking at heavily atmospheric groups that incorporate specific sonic elements to create an undeniable mood throughout the music. In this instance by “atmospheric” we’re not necessarily referring to ambient or even symphonic bands (although these acts do have some symphonic sounds), but rather to bands that have a clearly present atmosphere in addition to being extreme metal.
This out-of-nowhere band just signed on with Debemur Morti Productions to release an upcoming album titled “Fin De Siècle.” The vocalist’s weird, screechy screams almost would have qualified this act for our previous look at unearthing bands with bizarre vocals, and those screams are put to good use to foster a specific tone and mood.
The abrasive, off-the-wall screams mixed with the atmospheric clean singing and mid-paced guitar riffs draws all ears in, and basically forces attention as the music builds and becomes more frantic. The video for “Megalomanic,” available below, embodies the depressive black metal ideal, creating a sort of unhinged and demented sound, while vaguely giving the impression of being utterly alone in the middle of nowhere.
The maiden studio recordings from the Assembly of Light Choir will see release this week via At A Loss Recordings, boasting six ethereal hymns from the twenty-some member female secular choir. Recorded at Machines With Magnets in the choir's hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, the self-titled album features contributions from members of The Body, Braveyoung, Work/Death, Daughters, and more, creating some of the most unique songcraft in recent memory.
As "Assembly Of Light" is officially available this week, the folks at Cvlt Nation are hosting a stream of the entire album, right here.
Assembly of Light just returned from an intense West Coast tour with close friends, and labelmates, The Body and Braveyoung, where all three bands presented their own solo contributions as well as collaborative movements with members of all three bands simultaneously, as they have on previous tours on the East Coast.
Further tour plans will be unveiled in the weeks ahead as the choir permeates new parts of the Earth with its presence.
"Ramshackle" is Australian folk metal band Troldhaugen's follow up to the 2010 self-titled EP. The album is set to be released on August 31st and according to a press release "combines elements of folk metal/progressive metal with a touch of wackiness and the best aspects of the band's high energy live shows. The new album is a culmination of ideas and influences developed throughout the band's 5 year history together."

In anticipation of the upcoming September 4th Epitaph release, Propagandhi is streaming the brand new record "Failed States" in its entirety. The album stream comes as the band prepares for an all-out North American tour beginning in September.
Fans can stream the new record by going to Propagandhi's Facebook page or through the player below. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"Failed States is a milestone in Propagandhi's musical journey as they willfully careen between brazen metallic tendencies and the ragged punk rock roots of their earlier work, picking up where their critically-acclaimed 2009 release, Supporting Caste, left off.
"The first surprise for listeners will be the opening salvo 'Note To Self,' a sprawling, swerving, cinematic journey through the mind of a smoldering first-world inmate, escalating into the full throttle siege of the title track, 'Failed States.' The ride doesn't get any less outrageous from there, reaching new levels of volatility with fierce, exacting tracks like the album closer 'Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report)' and the borderline barbaric 'Rattan Cane.' Keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times, people.
"Propagandhi has created a truly monumental sixth album that is the band’s most forward thinking and musically varied albums to date. Failed States is not simply proof of Propagandhi's continued dedication to pushing their musical boundaries, but an evocative (and provocative) meditation on human nature, meaning and life under an expanding, planet-wide technocracy." Brazilian power metal band SupreMa posted up the new music video for "Nightmare." The song appears on the band's latest LP "Traumatic Scenes." For the video, the band used surrealistic art, in particular the influences of three masterpieces of Belgian artist René Magritte ("The Therapist", 1941; "Not to be Reproduced", 1937; and, "The Lovers", 1928).
Guitarist and songwriter Douglas Jen commented on the video:
"René Magritte is a genius! Every work you can travel inside of obscure and distant seas, and It's very interesting how every people travel in a totaly opposite direction by his work, it's really amazing! The "Traumatic Scenes" album brings a lot of traces and surrealistic symbols, and the lyrics has metaphors and can be understood by several forms by every listener. The idea of reproduce some Magritte arts comes to meet to 'Nightmare' lyric. When you dream, usually appears impossible situations, strange places, nonexistent creatures, and when you travel inside the Magritte works, is where you will really feel ... inside of a dream or nightmare. The best moment of this video, happens when the actress inside her nightmare could see her pictures inside the cage, as if she was trapped inside of 'The Therapist' work."
