Poland's Hate has issued the following announcement about canceling the band's planned U.K. tour dates:
"We do regret to inform you that The Fleshgod Apocalypse/Hate tour in the UK has been cancelled. The reason for this is just bad organization of the shows and incompetence of the agency that was responsible for it in the first place.
"Stephen Moss of Nuclear Blast Touring said: 'We tried to rescue the tour after the previous agent who was booking it made many errors, but in the past weeks we had more trouble as promoters were confirming shows with us that the promoter had not confirmed with the venues. So shows were being cancelled. The only option is to cancel the tour and re-organize something for the future, which of course I am not happy about, with Nuclear Blast I have tried to rescue the tour, but we have failed.'
"We are sure that many of you will find this disappointing. All we can do is to assure you that together with our agent we will be working on another tour in the near future. We totally appreciate your support to the band and we hope to find another opportunity to come on a UK tour fairly soon. Until then Rest in HATE!"
Hate would have been touring in support of latest full-length album "Solarflesh" (reviewed here).

Eric Morgan of Charlotte-based act A Hero A Fake has checked in with the following announcement about the band deciding to call it quits:
"I'm writing to let you know that after nearly nine years, we are closing the book on A Hero A Fake. It's a bit surreal actually typing out these words, even though we came to the decision a couple months ago, the finality of it is only now setting in. No fights, babies, or rehab. There are just things we want to do musically that require a new start and a fresh perspective -- the results of which will be announced soon.
"The time I've spent with this band has been the most amazing, eye-opening, and rewarding experience of my life. When Justin, Patrick, and I started AHAF back in high school we couldn't of imagined the journey we were embarking on. From simply being in a room together writing music with friends to getting signed, releasing three full-lengths, and touring the country -- we've accomplished the things that at one time only lived in our daydream heavy minds.
"We've been fortunate to have so many great people and musicians have a hand in shaping who we are. Honestly, I couldn't say enough about how lucky I am to have played music beside every single current and past member of this band.
"Of course our story would be impossible without all our fans, family, and friends who gave us the motivation every day to move forward note by note and mile by never ending mile. Thank you so very much, your support has meant the world to us."

"Thanks to the support of the many fans that contributed to our IndieGoGo campaign, we are in the final stages of editing our first 'proper' music video, for a track called "Web Of Lies" off our upcoming new record. The video is coming out amazing, and the song is killer - it's heavy, technical yet accessible, and it has the giant hook that defines the HW sound. More...

In what is apparently a reference to previous label Victory Records releasing the "Snapshot" 10 track compilation, Between the Buried and Me has posted the following message online about only buying releases directly from the band:
"Just so everyone knows, we have a merch button at the top of our page that is a listing of all our official merch stores. Please don't bother buying from anywhere else as it does not in any way filter through to us, nor do we have control over the quality of the product.
"Also, I know our fans are smart enough to know that if there is a new release coming out that we haven't advertised, then we obviously have nothing to do with it and again it is only profiting some third party that has no association with the band. We'd be more than happy if you just downloaded our old (ie: pre-Parallax) music and just continue coming to see us live.
"THANK YOU! See you all soon."
Between the Buried and Me left Victory Records several years ago and signed on with Metal Blade in 2011.

Atmospheric post-everything band Bossk has joined the Deathwish family to release the "Pick Up Artist" EP. The label comments:
"The band released four promising recordings ('1,' '2,' the '3' DVD, and a split EP w/ Rinoa) on their own Eyes Of Sound label before taking temporary hiatus in 2008. After four years of dormancy, Bossk awoke from their slumber collectively inspired to create in 2012. The band soon performed at UK's Damnation Festival In the Fall of 2012, and entered the studio to record the 'Pick Up Artist.'
"A seven minute textural epic that is crushingly heavy and uniquely melodic. Crashing forward in two unique movements, 'Pick Up Artist' has a hypnotic ebb and flow that carries Bossk past obvious influences (Isis, Neurosis, etc.) as they expand into new uncharted territory. The song was released to the public via free download in the Fall of 2012 to critical acclaim. More...
Razorback Recordings is thrilled to announce the release of a 2nd full-length CD from Italy's Haemophagus in late 2013/early 2014. The label comments:

"Haemophagus has been around for almost 10 years now, having released a ton of EP's and playing tons of shows all over Europe. A new personal standard has been set by the band on this new album. Try to imagine a mix of Repulsion and Terrorizer, along with Voivod and early-Slayer! There is truly no band around today that sounds like Haemophagus!" More...

A Breach of Silence and Eclipse Records have released a brand new lyric video for the song "Circles." The video was directed by Caldwell Entertainment and can be viewed below.
"When writing the chorus for Circles, I wanted it to be a clear message that you have control over your own life, and have the power over the choices you make," states vocalist/bassist Blair Layt. "The song itself is toned down, compared to most of the others songs on the album, but I think this helps to separate it and stand out - a lot like the message that it's trying to get across."

TRVE Brewing Co. and Flatline Audio have teamed up to released two new tracks from Denver-based Black Sleep of Kali (members of Call of the Void and Vimana). You can stream "Judecca" and "Morbus" here or in the player below. TRVE Brewing also comments:
"In the short time we've been open we've been fortunate enough to meet a huge number of people within the heavy metal community that love and support what we're doing at TRVE Brewing. Because of this overwhelming support we decided we wanted to give back to the people working their asses off on the road and around town - writing killer tunes and entertaining the hell out of our beer soaked scene.
"Back in the days before TRVE, our owner was lucky enough to meet Dave Otero at a homebrew meetup. Dave is the owner and producer at Flatline Audio, one of the premier studios in the country specializing in all forms of heavy and crushing riffage. Recent discussions led to the idea of a collaboration: hand pick bands and send them up to record at Dave's Studio for no fee whatsoever. Recording time ain't always cheap, and there are killer bands out there fighting tooth and nail just to break even. We wanted to help these people out and get their music heard.
"For our inaugural session, we sent our pals in Black Sleep of Kali up to Flatline to throw down two insane tracks - Judecca and Morbus. They're available for free download right over here.
"TRVE and Flatline plan on making this an ongoing collaboration, and are already hunting for the next band to send into the studio. Be ready for more crushing tunes this winter." More...

Texas based power/progressive act Darkology, featuring vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Firewind/Adagio), announced that the band's long awaited sophomore effort will be entitled "Fated to Burn." The band is streaming an unmastered sample of the title track (heard below).
"Fated to Burn" is the follow up to the 2009 release "Altered Reflections" and is expected out for release by year end. The album was mixed and mastered by Chris Tsangarides. Guitarist Michael Harris spoke about the sound of the album: "This album is a tribute to the old-school and it’s our hope that what we’ve done here will remind the listener why they got into metal in the first place."
