Ironclad Recordings has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Each of the Days:
"Ironclad Recording is proud to announce the signing of the vicious and talented, Each Of The Days. Each Of The Days, formed in 2007, is a six piece metal band from Tokyo, Japan that combines elements of the heavy metal underground with a driving force of melody reminiscent of Slipknot and Killswitch Engage. The dual percussion band also utilizes the voice of their female drummer, Mako, to the already melodic choruses performed by lead vocalist Norio.
"2009 was the breakout year for EOTD in Japan as one of their songs made it on the theatrical thriller 'Saw 6' soundtrack. In April 2010, the self-released 'Historical Sheep' caught the eye of Japanese label Howling Bull and the band was cast into a new light. After touring their homeland of Japan numerous times with the likes of Unearth, The Black Dahlia Murder, August Burns Red, Heaven Shall Burn and more, Each of the Days are poised to make the leap to foreign soil to continue building momentum and achieving their goal of being Internationally renowned.
"The band recently shot a video for 'Scarface,' the lead track from the upcoming album 'Sweet Charion.'"

"This concert is going to be a spectacular spectacle of music for all metal fans. Solace in Nothing will bring to the stage the energy of 1 million power plants and they are not afraid to show it. The special guest Stands with Fists is one of Tucson brightest upcoming bands and has been working extremely hard to make an impact on the metal scene. They just finished a single covering Katy Perry’s song 'ET.' Ensphere another special guest is by far the most hypnotic ambient metal bands you could see, not only do they have great songs, but they bring a light show and projection like no other."

Siberia had a good crowd for this Monday night show. But it wasn’t an ordinary event either; it was co-owner and bartender Daphne’s birthday bash. The always heavy haarp, Drone Throne, and A Hanging came out to play during the party. The notoriety of the lineup was noticed by the local newspaper, a surprise I found while looking at the weekend's entertainment, in which it got a short write-up and included a picture of haarp’s guitarist Grant Tom playing at the same bar of this night’s show. I was able to get footage of all of the bands, the bellydancers, and some fun interludes with band members and regular concert-goers. You can watch the two videos below. More...

Leaves' Eyes has issued the following statement about about merchandise being confiscated at the Summer Breeze festival:
"Dear fans and friends, Some members of the band visited the Summerbreeze festival in Germany this weekend. We met up with our friends from the Nuclear Blast merchandise stand on the festival grounds and got some rather unpleasant news on which we'd like to set the record straight.
"We heard the police showed up and confiscated Leaves' Eyes shirts with a Celtic Cross on it. Apparently the police thought the design had something to do with right-wing symphathies. We also heard some fans were forced to take their shirt off with the same design and had to give it to the police as well. Later the police apologised for the mistake and brought back the shirts to the Nuclear Blast stand, after harrasing the merch people 5 times! We as a band want to state that we are shocked and disgusted by all what has taken place. Also, we are amazed by the ignorance of the police in these matters as clearly Leaves' Eyes have nothing to do with such symphaties, nor does the design of the t-shirt. Clearly they need to do their homework a lot better!
"We think it is a shame that things like this had to happen at one of the best metal festivals we know and also the merch guys and girls @ Nuclear Blast, and last but least to our fans!"
After releasing the album "Sweet Relief" as a digital download, One Without has now announced a physical release on October 19th, 2011 via Wormholedeath (a sublabel of Aural Music Group). Guitar player Kenny Boufadene commented:
"We have been discussing this cooperation for some time, and how we would be able to work together since we already released the album for free digitally. Wormholedeath has have been really cool about this and show their support for how we want to approach our fans and actually encourage us to work in this way. This cooperation gives us the opportunity to release 'Sweet Relief' on an even bigger scale, while at the same time we keep our integrity and the respect for our fans. When we were contacted by Carlo Bellotti at Wormholedeath, we didn't realize who he was and what he could do for us, but after our first phonetalk we didn't have any worries at all, this was a label we wanted to work with and that has ideas and forward-thinking that is exactly in line with how we feel. Wormholedeath understands what we want and how we want to do it, and we couldn't be happier with this cooperation. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Wormholedeath."
Wormholedeath A&R Carlo Bellotti added:
"Wormholedeath is so proud to start this cooperation since we have been fans of One Without since they released 'Thoughts of a Secluded Mind' on Lifeforce Records. When Aural Music's boss Emiliano Lanzoni passed us the album we were so excited to get in touch with such emotional and professional band. We are glad that the band decided to work with us and we'll do everything possible to support their career. After the success of our latest releases we have been growing so fast as a label and we feel that we have the muscles to support the promotion of Sweet relief and pick up the challenge of releasing an album that is available online through free download."
Cradle of Filth has announced the release of a new mini-album titled "Evermore Darkly…" The mini-album will see release through Peaceville Records on October 17th (Europe) and October 18th, 2011 (North America) via Nuclear Blast USA.

The mini-album closes with a special taster from Cradle of Filth's impending orchestral project, in the form of a reworking of "Summer Dying Fast."
U.K. female fronted folk metal act Cryptic Age has checked in with the following update about working on a new album:
"Well, it's been a long time since we've written a blog entry, but we've been working hard behind the scenes doing lots of gigs over the summer as well as working on our new album!
"First things first, even though we got to the finals for Metal 2 the Masses, unfortunately we didn't get the chance to go and play at Bloodstock. However, Hostile Rising, the band who did win, should receive everyone's congratulations on such a well-deserved opportunity!
"Next, we've had lots of opportunities ourselves playing at lots of venues over the summer. We have now branched out from our local county of Yorkshire and have played in Nottingham and Worksop, and over the next few months we will also have gigs in Durham, Darlington and Manchester! Our next gig, though, is much closer to home in The Duchess in York! So if you're in the area on the 31st August we'd love to see you!
"Now onto the important part! Over the past few months we've been working hard to getting the rest of our songs written for our new full-length album. If you've been following our blog, you'll already know the album is going to be called Sounds of Infinity, but I can tell you a bit more now! Apart from a couple of songs we've been performing live, we're busy writing several more songs and are nearly half-way through writing an epic four-parter, which will be named Sounds of Infinity, after the album. The album is not a concept album, but the four-parter is, and retells the story of a mysterious Manx legend concerning the spirits of Dalby Mountain!
"We are hoping to record some demos within the next few weeks and plan to release the album in the first part of next year!"

Century Media has checked in with the following announcement about singing a deal with death metal act Vallenfyre:
"Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of U.K. death metal band Vallenfyre! Like Israel's Sonne Adam, Vallenfyre debuted with a 7" single on the underground label Imperium Productions and also mixes classic death metal with doom-but in case of Vallenfyre, there's some additional British crust thrown into the mix."
In regards to the band's signing, Jens Prueter (Head Of A&R, Century Media Records Europe) also commented: "I was already blown away by Vallenfyre's old school orgy of doomy and crusty death metal riffs when I heard the first demo last Winter, and the new 7" sounds even better. So I couldn't hesitate to offer them a deal straight away. That's how we signed Grave and Asphyx over 20 years ago-- and we all know that it was a good decision. So welcome to another chapter of Century Media's Death Metal legacy. Vallenfyre's debut album 'A Fragile King' is already recorded and will be released in late October 2011. If you like a mix of early Entombed, Celtic Frost, Autopsy, and Amebix you should hurry up to buy the last few copies of the 'Desecration' 7" which was limited to only 500 copies by Imperium Productions."
The "Desecration / Iconoclast" 7" was released a few weeks ago, and a few copies are still available. To hear samples from both songs and to purchase the 7", head over to the Vallenfyre website.
On September 26th (and a day later in the U.S.) Nightrage will release the band's fifth album “Insidious.” Nightrage guitarist and mastermind Marios Iliopoulos has now posted the second part of the album's track-by-track breakdown, which can be found below. Head over here to check out the first part of the track commentary.
“Sham Piety” - “Sham is actually the second song that Antony and I composed along with Olof. It’s a bit different and has an eerie feeling over all. One of the riffs comes from the first times of Nightrage, and it fit very well with the rest of this song. We blended some nice acoustic passages with brutal vocals, and also Tomas Lindberg makes a cool guest vocal appearance.”
“Cloaked In Wolf Skin” – “This one hits you like a roller coaster! It’s pure thrash with some death metal styles of riffing. Fast and straight forward. We wanted to create a very live fast song with cool guitar harmonies. The verse riff is totally old bay area thrash, and Jo’s drumming made this amazing. The chorus melodies help keep a good pace and the balance between melody and aggression.”
“This world is coming to an end” – “Very mid tempo kind of song with a fast verse and an emotional chorus. We had the luxury to have here again two amazing singers doing their thing. Apollo and Tomas make the last chorus together, and it is a great finale for the song.”
“Utmost end of pain” – “Very sad sounding guitar melodies at the beginning of the song, it leads into a fast and melodic verse. It’s a very different song for us again. Lots of heavy riffs and pounding drums. The chorus comes off very melodic and blends well with the overall melodic touch. Nice solos from Olof and myself with some cool chord progressions. I love how the vocals give you that strange feeling of desperation and anger, and at the same time, gives some glimpse of hope.”
Nightrage is heading out for the “Frets Of Fury” North America tour with partners in crime Firewind, Arsis, and White Wizzard. Dates are as follows: More...

Varg Vikernes, the infamous musician behind the notorious one man black metal band Burzum, has announced that he will be releasing a new book entitled, "Sorcery And Religion In Ancient Scandinavia," which will be released on December 5th.
According to a press release, his fifteen year research on the subject "has culminated in a book in which the outspoken and often divisive author challenges many of the widely held views of contemporary culture and its history. The passionate and in-depth text provides an absorbing insight into the thoughts of this most notorious of musicians. Sorcery And Religion In Ancient Scandinavia makes fascinating reading and will be of interest not only to black metal and Burzum fans, but also to those with an interest in Norse mythology or European history and social commentators."
"Sorcery And Religion In Ancient Scandinavia" will also available in a special edition hardback – limited to 2000 copies. Bound in high quality arlin material adorned with silver print, and presented in a debossed, matching slipcase.
Varg also recently raised yet another controversy by releasing a public statement about the terrorist attack in Norway in July.
After the albums Appetite for Destruction and Lies, Guns N Roses released two albums at the same time titled Use Your Illusion I and II. From this double release would come three intertwining videos known as ‘The Trilogy’.
This week a look back at these videos and the excess involved.
The video begins with a baby floating to the top of water. The baby has blue eyes. Logically, the video cuts to Axl Rose who is caught in a Buffalo winter-like-blizzard. He is in a kilt and holding a gun. Ladies and gentlemen this is your setup to ‘The Trilogy’…now it gets weird.
Axl is now in his residence and is holding a gun and apparently contemplating suicide. His girl played by then girl friend Stephanie Seymour, wrestles the gun away, but not before Axl throws her against the wall; angry that his model girlfriend stopped him from killing himself. Next scene we are at a cemetery where Axl and his girl are having a picnic. Cut to the band playing on top of a skyscraper building. Shannon Hoon, the lead singer from Blind Melon joins Axl, singing along with the chorus. All members of the band have decided to carry bandanas that hang out of their back pocket, except for Matt Sorum (who replaced their original drummer Steven Adler) who is wearing his on his head. There is a sign that says WHERE’S IZZY signaling Izzy Stradlin’s departure from the band (replaced by guitarist Gilby Clarke). Axl is wearing a flannel shirt that is probably his way distancing himself from the backlash of hair bands that was beginning during this time. Axl does the “airplane” run from one side of the building to the other. This doesn’t appear safe.
Back to the drama, we have Duff and Slash separately having fights with their girls. Duff is outside a club/bar and Slash is out driving. It appears Duff tells his girl off while Slash decides to drive the girl off a cliff. I picture Slash and Duff in a bar later that night. DUFF: So I just said “Fuck You!” and that was it. SLASH: I drove my girl off a cliff. DUFF: Oh.
The video escalates with Axl in a hospital room that is probably an insane asylum. While Rose lies there in a gown another image of Axl wearing a kilt appears and then one wearing a blazer appears and then leaves. Just for kicks it would have been entertaining to have Axl with the hair from the “Welcome to the Jungle” video show up as well, but then sometimes I ask too much.
Back on the roof with the band and helicopters are overhead and Axl continues to run around like an airplane on this very high roof. At this point he might as well grab a pair of scissors as he runs because it’s clear all caution has been thrown out the window.
Back in the hospital and Axl’s hand’s are shaking and he’s making this strange look like “see I told you” to the doctor who doesn’t seem very interested in what is happening. Next scene we are back in the cemetery and the grave has the name Axl Rose engraved on it with the ending year of 1990 which is because (as Axl later stated) a very suicidal year for him. Below the grave a green demon like Axl is looking up then we cut to a baby again coming up from the water. This time the eyes are green….and…..CUT!
