Every couple of aeons a trickle of info flows out about the pipe dream that is the God Of Atheists project, and now the latest aeon has passed and it's time for another update on how we're not getting that album any time soon. Asgeir Mickelson comments:
"Yes, this takes forever, but here’s kind of good news. Carl August Tidemann has been struggling for a long time with so called 'tennis elbow' (a form of tendinitis) and has been forced to not play guitar while in treatment.
"However, he just started playing (carefully) again and it looks like he'll have his chops back soon and able to record the last few solos (which also happen to be the most shredding parts). Lars K. Norberg is still busy studying music and jumped straight from finishing his master degree to working on a doctor degree in metal studies. How cool is that? A doctor’s degree in metal! I’ll gladly let Dr. Metal play bass on my album!
"Why am I waiting for these guys to finish? Why don’t I just get someone else or do it myself? Simply because I have all the time in the world to make this sound the way I want it, and my playing abilities are not even close to what these guys are capable of. I do know how to riff on a guitar, but trust me, you don’t want to hear me play solos… I also want ONE line-up on the album.
"When you hear (for example) a solo you should not have to check the booklet to see who’s playing on that particular song. Plus, I asked these guys to join because I like the way they play. So, sorry for yet another delay but when this thing is released it will be forever. Hopefully it will be worth the wait."
This project - featuring keyboards from Ihsahn and vocals from Vibeke Stene - was voted our most anticipated album of the year.... back in 2013.

On August 28, 2015 V For Violence will "The Book Of V," which follows 2009 debut release "The Cult Of V."
”'The Book Of V' took years to get it’s shape and sound. We wanted to take the next step in songwriting and payed more attention on details," says the band’s singer Jarkko Lähderanta.
The album was mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, The 69 Eyes, Negative), mastered by Svante Forsbäck (Sunrise Avenue, Amorphis), and recorded and produced by Anzi Destruction. Check out a music video for album track "The Hated Saint" below.
Jarkko goes on to say: ”The album sounds groovy and aggressive, yet melancholically melodic and on top of the basic rock band sound we used a lot of industrial sounds (NOT meaning Disco-ish here), samples, pianos, barrels and strings to create a cool combination.” More...
New Year's Day will release third full-length studio album, titled "Malevolence," on October 2, 2015.
This news comes on the heels of what's been a monstrously significant year for the band, which saw New Year's Day on this year's Van Warped Tour, as well as front woman Ash Costello hosting the Alternative Press Music Awards Red Carpet and taking an active role as a spokesperson for PETA.
"Malevolence" was produced by Erik Ron (The Word Alive, Motionless In White) and is the band's first release on Another Century Records. New Year's Day will also embark on a first headlining tour this fall in North America in support of the release. Tickets for the tour are available at this location.
Ash Costello (vocals) states, "'Malevolence' is the most personal album we have ever written to date. More than ever you can really feel the blood and tears in these lyrics. It wasn't an easy process because it was so emotional but what came from it is honest and real. It's therapeutic and angry but still shows vulnerability. More...
The latest slab of rotted audio to be leaked from Grime's impending second album, "Circle Of Molesters," is now reeking up the airwaves below with the track "Verge Of Wrath."
Following the release of an independent debut EP in 2011 and the 2013-released debut LP, "Deteriorate" (Forcefield Records/Mordgrimm), Grime oozes forth with the band's most brutalizing display of gutter-born, diseased sludge metal yet on "Circle Of Molesters."

1. Intro (Obscuration)
2. Get Immortal
3. Verge Of Wrath
4. Decay In Hades
5. Sulphorous Veins
