Check out the music video for "The Art of Mourning" in the player below. The following press release was also issued about the new clip:
"The Art Of Mourning is about a gunslinger who wants out of his 'deviant' lifestyle, and is trying to settle down with his wife and kids, but the people above him don’t want to lose their best gun. So they murder his kids, rape and hang his wife, and leave them for dead on the porch of his burnt-down ranch. Now this torn man with nothing left, has to decide whether to come to terms with the consequences of a life that he chose. Or take revenge on the men that took everything from him. Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia with director Rob Cantin, the video combines close-up performance footage of All Hail The Yeti cut into a gritty, Western movie storyline chock full of old-school debauchery, brutal gunfights and gory head-shots utilizing actual .45 revolvers, a full-on lynching and all kinds of high-action entertainment!"
Stated All Hail The Yeti vocalist Connor Garritty on the video’s inception and creation: “Rob and I have been friends for many years and we share a love for the Old West and the gunfighters of the late 1800's. We have done a couple paranormal investigations of hot spots like tombstone's birdcage theater, and Bisbee Arizona, trying to get some sort of glimpse of what life would have been like back then. We had a blast making this clip and this is just the beginning for us. We are already in talks about the next one. With these ventures you learn new things every time, and each moment becomes a memory. That is the most important thing to us!” More...

"'The Black Sheep' is track 10, from our upcoming album, The Slow Rhythms of a Dead-Beat. It is an anthem for anyone who feels like they don't belong. I can't pretend anymore, spinning my wheels and working for what? I'd rather be homeless and hate the world first-hand, than sit in my box of an apartment, experiencing life through a television screen. Complacency is a cancer and I'm sick of sitting still."

Vocalist Danny Brian of Laconic has issued the following announcement about the band going on indefinite hiatus:
"Hey everyone. As you may have noticed, our page has been inactive for quite awhile after our last show in June. Some of you may be wondering whats going on with us, some of you may not be. Either way, its time to fill everyone in on whats been happening. The truth is, we consider our fans our family and friends, and you deserve to know whats going on with Laconic, so first off, we apologize for keeping you in the dark.
"Now heres the deal: Laconic has been playing music as a band for over 10 years. We've accomplished alot as a band, and we have done things other bands can only dream about. We've been able to live out fantasies that all of us have been dreaming of since we were children.
"I dont want to drag this out in anyway or waste anyones time, but the short and skinny is that, after all this time, after 10 years, after thousands and thousands of dollars, after countless hours, being involved in a failed industry, failed friendships, failed relationships, missing out on family time, all of those things combined, has made us step back and realize that, for some of us, this isnt the life we choose to live anymore.
"What people need to realize, is that being in a band that you run as a business is not necessarily fun. The only part of being in an established band thats fun is actually playing the music. But even playing one show requires months of planning, ticket selling, advertising, marketing, promoting, traveling, missing work, etc, etc. It became old after 10 years, and for some of us, have realized that there are more important things in life. "Oct. 26th will be our first show back on the road at Hammerhead's in Ft. Wayne, IN. We will also begin writing for another EP now during our off time. Also to show that we are very thankful for all of your support and patience we will be uploading 'A Wretched Creation' for free download.

Swedish melodic metal maestros Soilwork will enter the studio on August 23rd to begin recording the follow-up to 2010 release "The Panic Broadcast" (reviewed here). In the producer seat this time will be none other than Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth). The new album, entitled "The Living Infinite," will also mark the recording debut of long-time touring guitarist David Andersson (Night Flight Orchestra).
"It's been a pretty long time coming, but as we speak I'm sitting here smiling my ass off listening to the demos that will forge into The Living Infinite,” commented the group’s towering vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid. “I've been feeling pretty damn restless from this break to be honest with you, therefore it is with great excitement that I've approached this new album. As soon as we started working on songs in March, all my focus and energy went into building this new beast. We're finished writing songs and I'm currently laying down demo vocals and I'm having a blast. I feel very inspired.
"Around the time that we released The Panic Broadcast, I moved into a house by the ocean in a tiny fisherman's village. The ocean has given me so much inspiration and raised a lot of existential questions, which will inspire a lot of the lyrics on The Living Infinite, the words Jacques Cousteau used to describe the ocean. Pretentious? Hell yes, but in the most typical Soilwork manner, with the right intensity, dynamics and melodies to back it up and make it real. I can't wait to team up with the rest of the guys and start putting this album on tape, together with the amazing producer Jens Bogren!" More...

Cradle of Filth has revealed the cover art for its upcoming 10th studio album, "The Manticore and Other Horrors," due out October 30th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. Artwork comes courtesy of Matthew Vickerstaff of Darkwaveart and can be viewed below. The following press release was issued about the album:
"Recorded in eight weeks at both Springvale and Grindstone studios (where it was also mixed by Scott Atkins), Suffolk, the album is a testament to the longevity of The 'Filth, as not only does it reek of Cradle's (feared or revered) brand of delicious metal vamperotica, but this thoroughly modern album places the band firmly in fresh killing fields anew.
"The Manticore and Other Horrors itself possesses an altogether new atmosphere for the band, incorporating a heavier, faster NWOBBM punk vibe that is both current and cruel, blended with ornate orchestration and the quirky immediateness of 2000's Midian opus. The album’s title can be likened to a bestiary, a collection of stories on monsters - personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities to blame but a few."
Commented the band’s infamous front man, Dani Filth, “This is our 10th commandment in metal. We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed it into something that I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming… Long live the filth!” More...

Danish modern metal machine Mnemic will team up with Swedish director Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company AB (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir) tomorrow to shoot a clip for the band’s single "I've Been You," taken from the new album, "Mnemesis," in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Commented guitarist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie: "Looks like we are hooking up with our old time friend and film director Patric. As you probably know or don't know, he did most of our videos, and each and every one has been outstanding to us.
"This time around we'll be shooting the video in an old factory (surprise surprise), to create a cold harsh uncompromising type of atmosphere that won't even melt such a warm melodic song as 'I've Been You.' We are super excited for the video shoot, and can't wait to see the final result! Keep an eye out for this space!"
The new album "Mnemesis" was released earlier this Summer in North America, and you can stream the song "Junkies On The Storm" at this location.
Following up a self-titled debut album on Hells Headbangers, Ohio death-thrash cult Crucified Mortals present a video for metallic horror hymn "The Late Night Butcher." Check out the clip below. The following press release was also issued about the video:
"A gruesome tale of an entrepreneur gaining his fortune on the success of selling human meat to unknowingly cannibalistic consumers, 'The Late Night Butcher' will be accompanied by another new song, 'Covet,' and will both be available on a split 7" EP with Czech Republic's young thrash band Radiolokator from Doomentia Records early fall! The video for Crucified Mortals' 'The Late Night Butcher' can be viewed in all its gory detail below.
"Released during March 2011 through Hells Headbangers, the self-titled debut of Crucified Mortals came ten years after a prolific stream of EPs and demos. Comprising 11 tales of horror transcribed into metallic hymns, Crucified Mortals continued the band's haunting style with their best tracks to date. The record compiles a diverse range of tracks which satisfies the ear's craving for speed, heavy and memorable riffing complemented by harsh, angry vocals and pounding drums. A truly unique style of thrash and death metal, this self-titled album combines the elements of both genres to create its own appalling sound, and found favor across the international underground. With a new lineup in tow, Crucified Mortals will continue their metal onslaught into 2013 and beyond...the grave!" More...
