Eric Bryan, known for his bass and vocal work with California's Necroscope and Abstract Prayer - and perhaps more famously as the 'metal fan/bass player with the cool posters and figurines' in the Sam Dunn documentary film "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey," has joined the ranks of Anger As Art in time for the band's US tour dates through 2013 and 2014.
Says founding member Steve Gaines: "We have known Eric since Anger As Art supported Overkill back in 2005. He gave a very in depth critique of our debut album, one that let me know he listened closely. We did radio and print interviews with him... I joined his band onstage...only later did I realize he was the same guy from the movie. Just a good guy, and an old soul. When we found our bassist position open, he came in and nailed it."
Eric's first show with AAA took place on August 9 in Los Angeles, CA. Video footage from that night can be seen below. Check out the bassist's appearance in "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" here. Anger As Art released its fourth full-length, "Hubris Inc.," in February of this year on Old School Metal Records.
USDM powerhouse Lecherous Nocturne has teamed with MetalInjection.net for the exclusive world premier of the video for "Ouroboros Chains." Taken off the band's third full-length, "Behold Almighty Doctrine," the Garrett Williams directed video for "Ouroboros Chains" is now playing at this location and below. "Behold Almighty Doctrine" was released in March of this year on Unique Leader Records.
The long awaited follow up to 2008's "The Age of Miracles has Passed," the new album sees Ethan Lane and founding member Kreishloff responsible for six-string sorcery; James O'Neal (Apotheosys, Atrocious Abnormality) and Alex Lancia (Annthennath) on the low-end tremors and rhythmic battery, respectively; and Chris Lollis (ex-Nile) on the hell-spawned roars of the possessed.
In Hell and Fury has checked in with the following announcement about going on hiatus and canceling upcoming live appearances:
"We regret to inform everyone that we will NOT be playing the Toledo Deathfest this year. Also, effective immediately, we are going on a definite hiatus until further notice. There are some things that need to be taken care of and we are taking the time to address those things now. We apologize to those that were looking forward to seeing us. We love you and hope to see you all again soon."

Today Loudwire offers up the premiere of "Set Fire to the Island," the latest music video from Taiwanese metal legion Chthonic. Check it out below.
Directed by Hoiji Huang and Alulu Kuo, the track comes by way of the band's recently released "Bú-Tik" studio offering (reviewed here), and features live footage from last year's Mass Battle concert in Taiwan and serves as a teaser for the pending Next Republic Asia Tour 2013.
Notes bassist Doris Yeh: "This is the live video we shot when we first played the song. It's the most exciting song to play off the entire album! It has now become a 'tradition' for the fans in Taiwan to come to our show with ghost money, they throw in the air to show respect and release all kinds of their emotions. When I see the ghost money thrown in the air, sometimes the scenery before my eyes seems like a dream." More...

In celebration of the forthcoming album release next month, today Pitchfork hurls forth "Lifeless," the eighth track off A Storm of Light's "Nations to Flames." Check out the song here.
Pitchfork describes the tune: "The guitars at the start of 'Lifeless' hang slow and steady and mean, suggesting the convoluted doom that's familiar from A Storm of Light's previous output. But the drums are fast, seemingly caught in a perpetually tumbling roll. That holds until the riff falls in line with the rhythm and the song rolls ahead, like an especially swift battle tank moving into position. That's largely the premise of Nations to Flames, which finds the New York trio speeding up its songs without slimming their heft much at all. When 'Lifeless' heads for its coda, supporting the band's full weight with drums that refuse to languish beneath it, the strategy feels loaded and wonderful."
Featuring Soundgarden's Kim Thayil and Indian/Nachtmystium's Will Lindsay on select tracks, A Storm of Light's "Nations To Flames" centers itself around the apex of human failure and bears witness to the fall of all governments, all nations, and all religions.
Recorded with Travis Kammeyer (OCOAI, Generation Of Vipers) at Fahrenheit Studios in Johnson City, Tennessee, mixed with Matt Bayles (Isis, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Botch, Mastodon) at Red Room Recording in Seattle, Washington and mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, From Ashes Rise, Nails) at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon, the album is due out in North America via Southern Lord Recordings on September 17th, 2013.

"Dehumanized recently released 'Controlled Elite' through Comatose Music and is now eagerly awaiting to bring its notorious live energy to the states of New Jersey, Virginia and Delaware. German stronghold of Satanic metal supremacy Iron Bonehead Productions has announced October 1st as the release date for the vinyl release of Abyssous' "...Smouldering." The following press release was issued:
"Originally released in 2012, the '..Smouldering' debut demo displayed a fresh take on a rotten sound. Ever unearthing dark treasures, Iron Bonehead releases this cult gem on vinyl LP, bolstered by two newly recorded, previously unreleased tracks.
"Anchored in the ancient ways of the Metal of Death yet exuding a bold, flowing flair for songcraft, Abyssous compositionally run the gamut from teeth-gnashing, tempting-the-corners-of-chaos violence to slowly simmering, doomed-out dementia, taking the listener on a journey to eldritch depths...and beyond, and back. Through it all, the power-trio keep the execution red-eyed and rabid and indeed ...Smouldering. Now with a cavernous, 3D mastering job by P. Engel at Temple of Disharmony and new artwork by Misanthropic Art, Abyssous' ...Smouldering has become that much more mind-melting."

"Generation Kill is not just another genre band, they are the final answer to all that tedious talk about a comeback of thrash metal. The band has just finished working on the follow up to its highly acclaimed debut 'The Red, White And Blood,' which is scheduled for release in November."
Commented vocalist Rob Dukes: "I want to thank everyone at Nuclear Blast for having Generation Kill become part of the greatest metal family. Generation Kill has finished our new Album. We used Zeuss (Hatebreed, Soulfly) to produce this record. He really helped us bring out things in all of us we didn't know we had, we all reached down and made a good record, we fought, we argued, and in the end each of us rose up to the challenge and wrote good fucking songs."
Added producer Zeuss: "This album is not an Exodus clone, this is an album of music where 5 guys got together an explored our own roots of music, the records we grew up listening to and wrote songs paying homage to what we love." More...
Drummer Marten Van Kruijssen of Houwitser has a new project titled Korpse, coming later this year. Check out a track below, and the band also issued the following biography:
"Korpse is a Brutal Death Metal band from The Netherlands, founded by Drummer Marten van Kruijssen (Houwitser, ex-Dictated) in 2013. Togheter with Sven (Visionary 666, ex-Dictated) on vocals, Bart (I Die You're Dead, ex-Divine Sins) on guitars and Mart (DrDoom) on Bass, Korpse recorded their self titeld album 'Korpse' which will be released late 2013.
"Korpse strives to play as brutal metal music as it's gonna get, without (over) using modern technologies which are often used to overproduce an album. A raw and dirty sound created by real instruments is what Korpse aims for. Because of this and the fact that all band members have plenty of (touring) experience playing all over Europe, Korpse guarantees a live show at least as intense and brutal as their self titled album 'Korpse'" More...

Each album also contains detailed liner notes-- and besides myself, Themgoroth, Dan Swanö & some other old friends that were present at the time I formed the band contributed to this. Unfortunately, I could not finish off these re-issues with Blackmoon, who sadly passed away earlier this year, but he was fully aware of them and for 'In The Sign...' and 'The Secrets...' we at least added a tribute page to commemorate him.
"We've just ended our festival season with a killer show at Germany's Summer Breeze festival. Now, my/our main focus will be to resume writing the next masterpiece, tentatively set for release in 2014. More news to come...
