Norwegian black metal veterans Gorgoroth have announced that vocalist, Pest, has been fired from the band with immediate effect after he refused to make the band his top priority. The band will still be honouring its touring comittments however. A message from the group reads as follows:
"Out of respect for and loyalty to Gorgoroth's audience and collaborators, Infernus (guitar) has kicked Pest out of the band, effective immediately. This after Pest informed the band that he would not be prioritizing doing the upcoming Latin American tour after all, just two weeks before the band was set to depart for Brazil.
"Infernus has decided that the tour will go on as planned, though, and Hoest of Taake will replace Pest as vocalist on the tour starting on September 7th.
"As for the next Gorgoroth studio album, Instinctus Bestalis, vocal duties will be handled by a Serbian Satanist known as Atterigner, of the band Triumfall (Forces of Satan Records)."

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore have been tearing their way around the USA for the past month on the Summer Slaughter tour, sharing the stage with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Job For A Cowboy, Goatwhore, and more.
With the tour coming to an end this week, the band has posted an update from the road, before returning across the Atlantic for an Eastern European trek, followed by a month-long tour with Dying Fetus. Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:
"We are now heading into the last week of Summer Slaughter, and so far it has been a truly awesome experience. We have gotten to know all bands on the tour as well as their crews, and it's gonna be pretty sad when the time comes to part ways. The biggest thing for me personally has been getting to know and tour with the guys from Cannibal Corpse. These guys are my heroes, so there is a lot of room to be disappointed... but they have been amazing. We have gone out drinking with them, they've invited us onto their bus many times, fed us, watered us and supported us by wearing our shirts and watching stage-side. A real dream come true for all of us and we can't thank them enough. It's not over yet though, and we have a bunch of west coast shows still to come - the energy levels are still at max and we are raring to go, so bring it on!"

Canadian metalcore act Obey The Brave is now streaming the band's Epitaph debut in full with plans to release the album, "Young Blood," on August 28th. Fans can stream the album through Altpress.com here. The following press release was issued about the album:
"The new album contains eleven tracks of pure adrenaline – charged hardcore, sure to please both metal diehards and hardcore fans alike. Tracks like 'Get Real,' which features Terror’s Scott Vogel on guest vocals, pay homage to ‘90s hardcore while peppering in more modern elements like massive metalcore breakdowns and an always-driving beat. 'Time For A Change,' while still including hardcore staples like riotous gang vocals and another of the album’s brick-and-mortar breakdowns, showcases some smooth lead lines during its more melodic outro.
"'Live and Learn,' the album’s first single, is a well-rounded representation of Obey The Brave’s bare bones, progressing from blistering double-kick blasts throughout its opening verse to some tasty breakdowns and another rather musical outro that adds an extra dimension to an otherwise relentless track." Metallic sludge innovators Black Cobra have today released their new video for “Crimson Blade,” the first official video to be released from their 2011 "Invernal" LP. The following press release was issued about the video:
"Conceived/constructed by the band themselves and director Greg Downing (of bands Glitter Wizard and Buffalo Tooth), Black Cobra's 'Crimson Blade' filmed in three days for absolutely no money. The plot portrays the concept of the song, following one man as he devolves to a previous state of humanity and resorts to cannibalism in a post-apocalyptic world. During the filming of the gory visual depiction, actor Landon Bates actually ended up accidentally cutting himself multiple times, with actual wounds fueling some of the bloody scenes."
Stated the members of Black Cobra: “The video’s concept was a collaboration between director Greg Downing and ourselves. We were familiar with his work in the bands Glitter Wizard and Buffalo Tooth and he was enthusiastic about working with us as well. In general, it's about isolation, paranoia and desperation. The utter darkness also gives it an overall feel of confusion. We're really stoked on how it came together.”

Every week we talk to bands from all over the world and hear some of their favourite stories from the mosh pit.
This week, Therapy? frontman Andy Cairns dishes some dirt on two of the most common things to be seen at a Therapy? show, nudity and crying, two things which really don't go together.
I've seen quite a lot of nudity in my time. Once in Oxford a friend of ours, Diamond Dave, ended up coming over the barrier wearing nothing but a sawn off Coke can taped to his genitals, how he didn't castrate himself Idon't know.
We also get a lot of screaming and crying. We had a hit in Europe with a cover of Husker Du's 'Diane' and for a while lots of gigs would have lots of inflatable dolls flying through the air with the crowd surfers, quite a sight. Yep, nudity and sexual deviance seem to feature heavily among some of the more enthusiastic members of our fans.
We recently spoke to Andy Cairns about the new Therapy? album, "A Brief Crack of Light," touring and why he feels the band have always been outsiders. "A Brief Crack Of Light" will be released on September 11th in North America and is available now in Europe. Be sure to come back next tuesday for more Pit Stories!

"Hi Callers & friends,
"Thank you so much for all the get well wishes, it's good to know there's somebody outhere who's thinking of me:) Meanwhile I'm on the right way to recover. But, ..."doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" and in this case the injury is healing. A special thanks again to the Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham, it's staff was taking care of me in a touching and unbureaucratic way. Also a big thanx to the airline KLM, which provided a unbelievably great service. I also wanna say thanx to Chris [Bay, vocalist/guitarist], who joined me in this difficult situation, supported me and was there for me. Now I'm ready for a new show on Friday, 25 August in Oberwolfach, this time without blood soup, but with fennel tea and cakes!"
