Polish brutal grind band Unborn Suffer recently issued its fourth release in physical form on Ghastly Music/Sevared, a self-titled album consisting of twelve tracks. The band has been streaming one of those tracks as an official video, the song "Human (I Am)," which is playing below. Unborn Suffer will be playing its next gig at the Sklep Klub Dobra Faza in Gostynin, Poland on August 25th. The band started out in 2001 and hails from Bydgoszcz, where this video was filmed.
Manowar's new studio album, "The Lord Of Steel" (reviewed here), will be released into worldwide retail on September 28th, 2012 following its previous digital release and limited-edition pre-release as the "Hammer Edition" in collaboration with Metal Hammer.
The retail edition of The Lord Of Steel will feature different mixes and mastering, new art by fantasy artist Ken Kelly, and other surprises. The album will be available as CD, limited-edition vinyl and digital album.
"Manowar has always dared to do things differently. You have to look at these two versions like a movie that comes out in alternate versions; a Director's Cut or alternate endings or stories even told from different perspectives," explained bassist Joey DeMaio. "For those of you who enjoyed the first taste of The Lord Of Steel, meaning the Metal Hammer version, I can tell you that the forthcoming Lord Of Steel release on Magic Circle Entertainment will be even more unique and yes, more brutal," he continued. The band Fuck Off, pioneers par excellence of Spanish thrash metal, have reached an agreement with Xtreem Music for the imminent release of a CD entitled "A Different Sacrifice 1987-1988," that consists of the songs off the band's first album "Another Sacrifice" as well as the ones from a previous self-titled debut 7" EP from '87. The following press release was issued about the album:
"Due to legal problems in matters of releasing rights on the first album of the band that seems to never find a solution, which in fact made of this album and 7" EP never to be released on CD ever since, Fuck Off have decided to commemorate the 25 years of such recordings rescueing from their old recording masters, the same songs, but with arrangements slightly different to the ones on the album, sometimes unnoticeable if you don't carefully listen to both, but with a mixing and sound with which the band feels more identified (louder and heavier, more Thrash, less Heavy Metal), due to the fact that for questions beyond the band's control, they weren't very satisfied with the final sound on the album back then.
"A Different Sacrifice 1987-1988 could be considered the most near thing to a possible re-issue of the mentioned recordings, but with a far superior sound and production. The booklet includes also a great amount of photos, magazine clippings, interviews, promotional flyers, show posters, liner notes by Pep Casas, etc., which completes an essential release to understand the origin of Thrash Metal in Spain, Cult stuff!!"
The release of "A Different Sacrifice 1987-1988" is scheduled for September 1st and you can now hear an advance track in the player below. You can also hear a different version from the original album at this location. More...
Scythia, Canada’s purveyors of folk/prog metal, are proud to reveal to fans a sneak peak of their latest sonic attack, “For The Bear," due out on Septmeber 25tth, 2012.
Vocalist / guitarist Dave Khan comments, "Scythia is proud to present the artwork and more for our upcoming release. The artwork was painted by the talented Mika Harju of Finland, he has experience designing metal albums before and we needed something tough and harsh looking to capture the intensity of the music. As you can imagine, it probably doesn't get much tougher than duelling barbarians from atop a bear in the dead of winter. We are also including a teaser track that gives a little prelude of the sonic intensity that accompanies this imagery."

Hexvessel's "Woods to Conjure" song and its accompanying video can be viewed at this location or in the player below.
Frontman and founder Mat McNerney says of the album: “The songs were written specifically to be channeled by a group. This is the sound of a cult, all focused on summoning the same magic, joined in prayer, haunted by the same demons. We actively pushed for a new way to evolve our sound. I purposely strove to make this album a calculated move-on from Dawnbearer. This isn't about using symbols of the occult. This is about a way of living that returns the old gods to their rightful place. We're a family that worships nature through word and sound. We hope you will join us."

Cradle of Filth has announced an October 30th North American release date for the band’s 10th studio album, "The Manticore & Other Horrors," out just in time for Halloween courtesy of Nuclear Blast Records.

The following press release was issued about the album:
"Recorded in eight weeks at both Springvale and Grindstone studios (where it was also mixed by Scott Atkins), Suffolk, the album is a testament to the longevity of The 'Filth, as not only does it reek of Cradle's (feared or revered) brand of delicious metal vamperotica, but this thoroughly modern album places the band firmly in fresh killing fields anew. Anthrax's music has been played at New York's Yankee Stadium, in Moscow, Warsaw, Australia, Japan, and at Castle Donington in the UK. But now, thanks to NASA, Anthrax is the first metal band to ever have its music played on Mars. As Anthrax's Scott Ian put it, "Yes, there will be moshing on Mars."
"Got The Time," from the band's 1990 Gold-certified "Persistence of Time," was one of several songs on NASA's wake-up playlist for the Mars Rover, Curiosity, that touched down on the Red Planet August 5th. "Got The Time" woke Curiosity up on Day Six, along with "Echelon" by 30 Seconds to Mars. Since Curiosity's Mars landing, the playlist has also included The Beatles' "Good Morning Good Morning," the theme from "Star Wars," and Wagner's "The Ride of the Valkyries."
Next on Anthrax's Planet Earth agenda is a Fall co-headline tour with Testament, with Death Angel supporting. This will be Leg Three of the Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel hat-trick, and will mark Anthrax's first tour of Canada in support of the band's most recent release, "Worship Music." More...
