Chimaira has issued the following statement about keeping the band name after several lineup changes and announcement about working on new material:
"The last few years have been bizarre, to say the least. Chimaira went through an insane amount of changes that would have killed 99% of the bands out there, and all things considered, probably should have killed us, too. Since 2009, we’ve switched labels, management companies, booking agents, merchandisers, and unfortunately, band members.
"Like many bands, we were tested in order to survive an ever-changing industry. There were various suggestions implemented to try and improve our situation; some methods worked, some not so much. Regardless, we all had different ideas and life goals that ultimately led to where we are today.
"For over a year, we’ve been working incessantly to assemble a solid team that would represent Chimaira moving forward, all the while rebuilding the entire infrastructure. With the music industry being in a transitional period, it was imperative to align ourselves with the right people.
"Thankfully, a new balance has been found and goals have been met. Though the past few years have been difficult (with actual blood, sweat, and tears), today I’m excited to announce that the machine is running stronger than ever.
"I want to thank all of our dedicated fans for understanding that every change made was to keep Chimaira alive. A harrowing journey, the humility that accompanied each step of the path is a blessing, and your loyalty speaks volumes that will not go unrecognized. More...

Haeresiarchs of Dis, which will be releasing new album "Thirty-Eighth Sermon of the Unborn" on November 27th through Moribund Cult, has now issued the following announcement about an upcoming split CD:
"Very shortly UW Records (my micro-record label) will release the long awaited split CD between Haeresiarchs of Dis and Ophidian Forest! Should be available generally everywhere by end of this month. Been looking forward to this project for a very long time!
"This record most probably represents the last physical CD release under the UW Records imprint (because let's face it, times have changed); but we're very proud of what we've accomplished thus far, now with six CDs and a DVD release under our belt, and prouder still to be sticking to our guns to the very end, releasing a purely underground split digipack CD that is 100% raw cult true black metal all the way and not intended for mass crowd consumption in any manner.
"There is no better way to go out than on our own terms, fully compromised, and looking forward to what new technologies await. As a wise person once told me, the record industry is coming to an end; but the music industry has only just started."
Ophidian Forest was covered in the Croatian edition of our "Unearthing the Metal Underground" column, and also took part in our editorial on Christian "unblack" metal versus non-Christian black metal.

The band issued their Carnivores EP through Blood Harvest Records in 2008 as a limited 7”. The EP harvested considerable underground buzz and sold out. Now in their twenty third year as a band, Northern Ireland's, Therapy? are still going strong having released one quality album after another. Their latest record, "A Brief Crack Of Light" will be hitting the shelves in North America next month, and MetalUnderground.com had the chance to speak with frontman Andy Cairns about the album, as well as when fans can expect them to cross the Atlantic, plans for the future and Prime Minister David Cameron.
Diamond Oz: First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to answer these questions. I’d like to start with your new album, "A Brief Crack Of Light" which will be released in the United States next month. Can you explain the meaning behind the title?
Andy Cairns: Hi, thanks for the interview, we're really excited that this album is getting a release in North America.
The album title comes from a quote by the Russian writer, Nabokov "the cradle hangs above an abyss and common sense tells us our existence is a brief crack of light between two eternities of darkness". We felt the title fitted in with all the existential themes on the album. Watching life in all it's little dramas and absurdities all played out in such a short time span.
Diamond Oz: The album has been available in Europe since February. Why did it take so much longer for the record to be released in North America?
Cairns: We had to get the right people to put it out. We wanted to make sure that our North American fans could get a chance to be aware of the record and get their hands on it. A few of the people we talked to earlier didn't understand the band so we held off.More...
