German thrash act Exumer has dropped off the upcoming Slaughterfest Tour in Europe with Onslaught, MPire of Evil and Master, citing logistical reasons as the cause.
The announcement reads:
"The logistical circumstances that preceded this tour made it impossible to commit to the tour, even if it meant giving up our co/ headlining spot on the bill. We are just as disappointed as everyone else who wanted to check out this killer tour package but we had to make a decision and as difficult it was, we opted to pull out of the tour. Anyone who has seen us live in the past knows that we try to play energetic and exciting shows possible. Unfortunately, the logistical problems surrounding the tour would've made it impossible to guarantee the fans a 100% of what we are capable of and to deliver what they expect every night.
"We refuse to shortchange our fans and ultimately tarnish the EXUMER brand just for some profit. Our withdraw[al] from the tour has nothing to do with the rest of the bands on the tour package and we wish them a great run with loads of success, as we have nothing but respect for each of the remaining bands on the bill.
"We will do our best to put together a string of shows in Europe next year to make up for this cancellation and ask for everyone to consider our apologies and hopefully see you at one of the next Exumer shows!!"
Finland's Coventhrall has released the track "In These Halls" from the album "Legacy of Morfuidra." Give the song a listen through the video clip below. The band also comments on the lyrical concept:
"From the Episode I - 'Morfuidra,' we could get to know both the planet and the people of Morfuidra as well as the secret they are hiding - the powerful technology that almost destroyed their civilazation in the past. The Episode II - 'Dreadnought,' introduced the Scavens - the space pirates from a distant galaxy, moving in a huge spaceship called Dreadnought. The threat to the Morfuidra comes from the nooks of hyperspace and the Elders are now searching for the man who will be able to protect the good citizens of this secluded planet.
"The Episode III - 'In These Halls,' continues the story of choosing a great and a noble man whose task will not be an easy one to fulfill. All the people of Morfuidra are gathered in a shelter where they can hide themselves from the threats coming from the Dreadnought. When they are all together in the ancestral meeting place, the process of selecting the right man begins. This is the one and only way to save their precious world. The Elders bring the items of blight from the holy sanctuary so they would find and show the chosen one among the citizens. The objects start glowing and going all in one direction - towards Avatar. The gods made their choice and people of Morfuidra are now full of hope, Avatar will bring peace to their homeland. Now his mission regards bravery and faith since he must find his way through the enemy fleets and go to the Emperor to bring his attention to the threat caused by the Scavens." More...

We wanted to feel like you were being yelled at you through the internet to knock that shit off. Another great thing about this video is how many hidden gems are in it. If you pause the video and take time to read all the mock comments, you will be greatly rewarded." More...

Sabaton's scheduled performance in Volgograd, Russia in a few weeks at the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad may be in jeopardy. It seems organizations and political representatives of the former communist nation had "studied" and deemed the Swedish power metal act a "Nazi band."
The performance has not officially been cancelled, however, the band did post the following on its Facebook Page in an effort to repel the rumored "study":
"Did the Nazis win the battle of Stalingrad?
"We have been reached by the news that some organizations and political representatives who claims to have studied us has come to the conclusion that Sabaton are a nazi band, and because of that our scheduled appearance at the 70th anniversary of the battle of Stalingrad should be cancelled. This show is to take place in a few weeks in Volgograd.
"Further, these people believe that we will desecrate the Russian flag during our concert (which we have never done and of course have no intention of doing) and they are now trying their best to ban Sabaton from all of Russia!!!
"We know that the people of Russia is far more intelligent than this and thus we hope that reason will allow us to play this concert in honour of this historical event and the Soviet soldiers who fought for their freedom.
"Sabaton is and has always been a NON-POLITICAL and NON-RELIGIOUS band and holds a lot of respect to the veterans of war and the heroic and non-selfish acts that was performed in a time of need.
"P.S. - It should be noted that Sabaton has been awarded honorary membership of the "Scions of the 17th Airborne Division", an organization that consists of veterans from the very same airborne division who fought against the Nazis in 'The battle of the Bulge' and 'Operation Varsity.'" More...
