"I am, (as well as Byron, Sho, and Bob), impressed, amazed, and humbled ALL at the same time. We can will make this happen, on our own terms, to deliver an album that will be expected by our fans. I wish I had this opportunity when I started my music career 20 years ago. We will keep you all updated on our progress.
The band's next target is now 200%. Now at 129%, the campaign will end in 61 days. Visit the band's Pledge Music pagefor more details.

Montreal based death metal act Krokmiten is currently offering the "Alpha-Beta" album as a free download through the band's website here. The concept album consists of one single 46-minute track accompanied by an animated video synced to the music directed by the band's guitarist/vocalist Simlev. The recoding was done at SLA-M Studio in Montréal by Krokmiten and Engineer Éric Thibeault. The mixing and mastering was handled at EXPAZ Studio in Montréal by Guy Dubuisson.
Guitarist/Vocalist Simlev comments about the project: "I'm very proud about what we've achieved. It's an ambitious experimental project that I've been obsessed with for quite a while. I'm very excited to share it with everyone."
"As the music industry struggles, it was out of question from the start to approach a label with this project. They've fucked with people for so long, they pretty much get what they deserve. So we've decided to produce it ourselves and take the independant route. Releasing it for free is very important to us.
"We hope people will watch and listen to alpha-beta and leave us comments on the numerous outlet we offer. Go to our website and download everything absolutely free. What we're looking for are feedbacks, good or bad. You can also make a donation via PayPal if you like what we're doing and want to help the band."
You can also stream the entire album by using the YouTube clips available after the jump. More...

Lifeforce Records has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Night In Gales:
"We are very pleased to announce the signing of the German pioneers of melodic death metal, Night In Gales to the Lifeforce Records roster. It has been silent about them far too long!
"Flashback: After Night In Gales' debut EP 'Sylphlike' had hit the scene like a bomb in 1995 (up till now this release remains one of the best selling demos ever!), the first album 'Towards The Twilight' was released in 1997 under the wings of Nuclear Blast Records and NIG toured with bands such as of In Flames, Hypocrisy, Children Of Bodom and Death, before releasing their second album 'Thunderbeast.' Further touring with acts like Dismember or again Children Of Bodom followed, as well as appearances at festivals like Wacken Open Air or Summer Breeze Open Air.
"While the releases this far presented the band with a clearly melo-death rocking groove, their third album 'Nailwork' in 2000 showcased a rather morbid and more progressive side to things and NIG not only toured Europe with Old Man's Child and Krisiun but also visited Japan together with Defleshed.
"The band's upcoming 'Necrodynamic' release in 2001 saw them switching to Massacre Records and also to a more varied and melodic stylistic approach, which after some line up changes also lead to the band taking a break in order to musically re-orientate. In doing so, there was music released by the members of Night In Gales during the zero years in / with acts like Deadsoil, The Very End, Grind Inc. or In Blackest Velvet, yet nothing was to be heard by NIG apart from the self-released 'Ten Years Of Tragedy' EP 2005 (a free download offering, celebrating the group's tenth birthday!). Megadeth has made it official, the band's 13th studio album, titled "Th1rt3en," will be released on November 1st, 2011. Dave Mustaine commented, "This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded. There are moments on Th1rt3en that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed! My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on Th1rt3en.”
"Th1rt3en" also marks the recorded return of bassist Dave Ellefson, who was part of the band's classic lineup from 1983 to 2002. In a move that delighted the band's legion of diehards, Ellefson returned to performing live with Megadeth in early 2010 and has remained a fixture on the stage ever since. This is the first time Ellefson has played on a Megadeth record since 2002's "Rude Awakening."
The album's title has several layers of meaning, which front man Dave Mustaine revealed in a recent chat with RollingStone.com, saying, "I was born on September 13th; this is my thirteenth record. It just seemed like it was the right thing to do to call it Th1rt3en."
Megadeth recorded an original track, "Never Dead," specifically for the NeverDead action-adventure video game franchise; that song will appear on "Th1rt3en," as will "Sudden Death," which the band recorded for Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock.

Additionally – as often before – Moloch won’t be able to be part of the live line-up on our European tour as well as on two festivals due to his PHD finalisation and other commitments, which he had to reschedule because of our previous US and European tours. Suffocation is a name that certainly needs no introduction. Since the band's debut, 1991 releases “Effigy of the Forgotten” and the “Human Waste” EP, bands all around the globe have aspired to growl as low, beat their drums as fast, and groove as hard as Suffo. If you see a sprawled out, illegible logo on a name befitting brutality, most likely said group has a Suffocation poster in its practice space.
In 1990, Suffocation recruited drummer Mike Smith and guitarists Doug Cerrito and Terrance Hobbs from the disbanded local group, Mortuary. Both Smith and Cerrito later left the group (Smith later returned and is their current drummer), but Hobbs has stayed with the group since their inception. Along with Frank Mullen’s trademark bowel-bursting vocals, Hobbs trademark style has become synonymous with the Suffocation brand. He has the ability to quickly changes gears from slow, slam-stomping rhythms to screaming solos and blurring speed, all the while hooking the listener.
Terrance Hobbs is truly a living legend in the realm of death metal, and the guitar industry is finally recognizing his greatness. Hobbs recently signed an endorsement with B.C. Rich guitars. The guitar-making titan is honoring him with a signature-series, Warlock guitar.
Hobbs spoke with Metalunderground.com via the InterWebs on a number of topics, including his love for guitars and his forthcoming product. More...
Borknagar's Jens F. Ryland has weighed in on having their music pulled from Spotify under the recent decision by Century Media. Here's what he had to say on the topic:
"A couple of days ago I received a mail from Century Media stating that they had removed Borknagar and all the other Century Media bands from Spotify. In the two days after this a debate has formed and I’ve seen articles and comments in several zines and newspapers, including The Independent and LA Times. Metalsuck.net (sic) is even having an ongoing row with the 'Suits' of Century Media on their site. What I haven’t seen yet are any comments from the musicians themselves, so let me tell you what I think of this:
"Stepping into this salad I’m still undecided which side I’m actually on. The way I see it, this situation is an ongoing shape-shift of the whole business. And it’s still in it’s early stages, most people and businesses are still confused and have little idea of what is going on and noone can really see the outcome of this. It makes most of the ongoing debate into a blabber of nonsense where nothing constructive comes out. Spotify are hiding the numbers, Century Media is offering critics to come work for them for free and Metalsuck are stating that most bands would be better of with no payment as it would lower the use of drugs! Guys, this isn’t going to renew the music business!
"I think I just decided to not side with any of these. More...
