Kaotoxin Records has set September 3rd as the date on which "The Fall of Omnius" from French death metallers Nephren-Ka will be unleashed. Nephren-Ka's follow-up to 2010's "Revenge and Supremacy" EP is the musical embodiment of Frank Herbert's 'Dune' saga. As heavy as Shaï-Hulud, the giant worm, and as brutal as a horde of raging Feydakins, "The Fall of Omnius" is the manifestation of a war for survival and supremacy. Produced at Hertz Studio (Behemoth, Vader, Insain...) and featuring artwork/layout by Stan W. Decker (Avalon, Vanden Plas, Dysmorphic...), "The Fall of Omnius" title cut may be listened to below.
Portland, Oregon's Ape Machine is hitting the road for the third time this year, once again plowing its way across the urban wastelands of the U.S. west coast. The album ('Mangled By The Machine') was recorded in a live setting and all in one session. It's a natural setting for us and a place we itch to get back to every time we get off the road."

California death horde Gravehill is set for a weekend of blood and blasphemy when it invades Portland, OR for an appearance at the Northwestern Black Circle Festival 5 today on Saturday, August 10th. Sharing the stage with Gravehill will be Ghoul, Drawn & Quartered and more.
To celebrate its appearance at the festival, Gravehill is bringing along a special two-song demo featuring tracks from its upcoming third release, "Death Curse." Each copy is handmade, hand-numbered and each member of Gravehill has his own edition of the demo complete with a personal message. These demos are limited to 50 copies and will only be available at the fest.
For the rest of the world, Gravehill is now streaming a demo version of the song "Black Blood Rising," from the "Death Curse" sessions. Check it out below in the player. Gravehill vocalist Mike Abominator had this to say about Death Curse:
"We have some filthy fucking death metal terror here with these new 'songs' (more like hymns of death noise.) These are the things of nightmares, the stench that makes you puke. This is what this album will make you do when you hear it. The 'demos' that we are floating around actually fucking suck. We threw them together and wasted our time doing them for a stupid fucking waste of time that I won't get into. But we are spreading the plague of the new material anyways.
In the meantime, we slaughtered the material and got it ready for the album recording, of which we have started doing at Trench Studios with John Haddad (Hirax, Phobia, Coffin Texts, Abysmal Dawn, Murder Construct, Final Conflict and many more) and our very own Hellheim Studios. We are going with the raw, putrid and dismal live sound this time, as live as we can get it, to try and capture the feel of one of our live performances, of which we feel hasn't been represented with our releases so far. Expect the same rotten and old school death metal from us. Fuck triggers! Fuck trends! Fuck technical bullshit! Fuck progress! And Fuck You!"
Death Curse is set for a January 2014 release on Dark Descent Records.

"For collectors of 80s metal this autumn will definitely be a hit! At the beginning of September Karthago Records starts with the Heavy Metal Classics Collection, which will present you lots of 'one hit wonders' of Heavy Metal history! The series starts off with one of the biggest classics of German Heavy Metal (unfortunately it was the only album of this band).
"The extremely rare 1985 vinyl 'Back To The Wall' by Bloody Climax will be officially released on CD, together with previously unreleased songs of the planned - but never released - second album. Careful remastering, 78 minutes playing time and a 24-page booklet will make every collector’s dreams come true.
"The original album, which is on a level with classics like Black Fate and Creature, is very rare and expensive and collectors will know that it is one of the rarest German Heavy Metal albums ever. Rare and brilliant Heavy Metal albums are always coveted by collectors and Bloody Climax 'Back To The Wall' is a classic which should definitely be in every collection. More...
