Chilean thrash band D1straught will enter the studio in August to start work on its debut album, and will abstain from performing live for the rest of 2012 to concentrate on the recording process. The working title of the full-length is "Money Equal Death," not to be confused with the three-song EP of the same title that D1straught released earlier this year. The band has about ten to twelve songs written, but has not revealed which ones it will be putting on the album. The production team will be a combination of experience and understanding. Lalo Guzman, guitarist of D1straught, commented:
"Its really cool to be able to work with people like Johnny Verdugo and Ricardo Martinez. They know what they are doing, and of course to be able to work with Mariano Pavez; all the work he has done in the past with Criminal and Dracma. We are sure we are going to get our own sound, it will be massive and aggressive."

Lalo - Lead Guitars/Backing Vocals
Chris - Guitars/Backing Vocals
Leo - Drums

According to Michael Caine's character in the film, "The Dark Knight," some men just want to watch the world burn. In the world of heavy metal, that's kind of a cool line. Actually, that's a really cool line. It's not even that far from the truth for some bands. Some bands like to express their disenchantment with the world and how they'd like to snuff it out like a cigarette butt. Others like to reflect the world in their music, showing it for what it is without passing judgment. Some bands take it one step further and command that we change the world. Impending Doom is not one of them.
On the evening of July 6th, Impending Doom brought back to Nashville's Rocketown a different message: Change yourself. Disregard the world, because it will fail you. Some bands just want to tell you that the world will burn and you shouldn't be part of it. As it turns out, during my interview with vocalist Brook Reeves and some of the band before the show, Impending Doom is about as literal about that as can be. They were joined by fellow bands Within The Ruins, Erra, The Plot In You, and To Each His Own. More...

Italian metal act Stormlord has checked in with the following announcement about gearing up to enter the recording studio this fall:
"The rehearsal/demo songs of the new album are almost done and they sound awesome. It's something between 'Mare Nostrum' and 'Supreme Art Of War,' but with a lot of brand new ideas and a strong mediterranean feel.
"We'll spend the whole summer listening to these demo songs, in order to be 100% sure about them, and than we just can't wait to enter in The Outer Sounds studios, in November, to record the new stuff.
"Trust us when we say that your wait will be worth it!"
