Cro-Mags Bassist Stabbed By Former Member

According to BoweryBoogie.com, a hardcore show featuring Sick of it All, Cro-Mags and Vision Of Disorder, had to be cancelled tonight when Harley Flanagan, founding (and former) bass player of the Cro-Mags, reportedly entered the VIP Lounge with a knife and stabbed current Cro-Mags bassist Mike Couls in the chest. An excerpt of events reads as follows:

"Cops quickly appeared and took him away in cuffs. Not before he had already stabbed some dude in the chest (said victim left the scene with a bandage over the wound). Because of the violence the rest of the show was canceled. The remaining bands promised to reschedule the show. To be fair, Webster Hall security contained the situation professionally. Lots of drunken, pissed off hardcore fans were on edge after the cops shut down the show, but the scene was cleared without further incident."

Masachist Finishes New Album

Polish death metal squad Masachist has just completed work on a second full-length, "Scorned." The follow-up to the band's 2009 released "Death March Fury" was recorded in mid-2011 at Monroe Sound Studio, with final production touches taken care by guitarist Aro. Featuring nine brutal and intricate songs, "Scorned" will be released worldwide by Selfmadegod Records on September 3rd, 2012.

Masachist's leader Thrufel comments on the album: "I'm really glad that after a long silence I can finally give you some details regarding our much anticipated new album. Scorned is 40 minutes of your agony, another relentless death march. You could say that the new album is a natural evolution of our style. This time the songs are much more demanding than those heard on our previous one, while still retaining their primal brutality. Yes, we are still playing 100% Death Metal Kurwa Maæ!"

The album's cover art and album details for Scorned will be revealed in the weeks ahead. For now, hear the opening track, the punishing "The Process of Elimination," in the player below. More...

Omnium Gatherum To Enter The Studio

Finland's Omnium Gatherum has issued the following announcement about canceling Scandinavian shows and gearing up to enter the recording studio:

"OG is very sorry about the cancelled Scandinavian shows this week with Children of Bodom and lack of information on them in advance. But even we ourselves got the info about cancelling 1 hour before our stage time and we already travelled to Norway and were ready to rock.

We hope all the best for Alexi on recovering and getting well soon and hope to re-schedule the Scandinavian dates as soon as possible. Thanks to CoB & crew for the hospitality and being really nice for us!

"Next week we'll be locking ourselves to the studio and start the recordings of a 6th Omnium Gatherum full-lenght album! More info, updates and hopefully all kinds of studio diary and goofing will be updated soon here! So stay tuned!"

Lamb Of God Comments On Randy Blythe Situation

As was previously announced, Lamb of God's Randy Blythe is currently being held in Prague for charges of manslaughter due to an incident at a live show two years ago. The band has now made its first official statement on the issue:

"First of all, thanks to everyone who has reached out in support of Randy and each of us in this terrible situation. It’s noted and very much appreciated.

"We have been keeping our heads down and not speaking out due to the fluid nature of the situation and the constantly changing information that even we receive daily. Within an hour things can do endless 180’s. It’s maddening to try and make heads or tails.

"We’re taking the time to speak to you as it has been a significant period of time since this situation began and while nothing is immediately clear to any of us, we are not trying to keep anyone in the dark.

"We have reached out and are making use of the resources we have acquired to help our brother who is still detained in Czech jail.

"In the two years since, we were never notified of anything related to this incident. Randy is our brother and we assure you, we are all staying very positive for him, working endlessly behind the scenes to provide any and all assistance possible.

"The best we can do is to stay positive and continue to support our friend that we know is innocent. We know that justice will prevail and we will continue to do our part to support our friend."

To help donate to Randy's legal fund, head over to this location. You can also check out an interview about the situation with Lamb of God's manager over here. Further details will be announced as they come to light.
