Asking Alexandria's new short film, "Through Sin and Self-Destruction," is now available through the YouTube clip below. The band's publicist issued the following press release:
"This is a controversial, uncensored look into the real lives of a new era of rockstars for today's generation as they take over the Sunset Strip. This is the first, but not last collaboration between writer Ash Avildsen and director Frankie Nasso, who together take you on an ambitious visual endeavor that hasn't been strived for in rock since the legendary Guns N' Roses trilogy.
"The film is comprised of three music videos for the songs 'Reckless & Relentless,' 'To The Stage,' and 'Dear Insanity.' Guest appearances are made by Belladonna, Andy San Dimas, Sebastian Bach and more. This is truly the essence of sex, drugs and heavy metal."

Abyss Records' Summer of Sickness campaign continues with the release on July 6th of SouthWicked's "Death's Crown." It actually all started when Allen West (Six Feet Under, Obituary) and Marco Vreven (The Quiescent, Exterminator) on the Lowbrow 'Buried in Europe' Tour decided to start a new band. A couple of months later they were working on some songs and recorded a demo tape in the Red Room Studio's in Ybor City. Rock Rollain (Kult of Thorn) joined the forces and days before the first gig they asked Sven Poets from Shattered Skull (BE) to come aboard.
Below is the tracklisting of the nine-song "Death's Crown," with the cover art featured in the YouTube upload of the track "Craving for Blood" directly following it. SouthWicked also has a big gig scheduled at the Titan Fest in the De Klinker Club in Aerschot, Belgium on September 15th, playing with at least eight other confirmed bands. For more news on this event, head over to its Facebook page.

My Autumn has posted a lyric video online for the song "Oblivion Era," which can be found below. The band also commented:
"There was no news from us for a long time, many people thought that our things went very bad, because our drummer Mark Mironov has left us, he plays in Betraying the Martyr and lives too far away from us.
"But no! We're superfine at the moment, we have a new members, we have finished our album on english language, and we looking for a label! We will present our new drummer very soon.
"This is a self-titled single from our album, which was attended by Alex Erian (Obey The Brave, ex-Despised Icon member). Sit back, enjoy our lyric video, and download the song, while we waiting, and cross your fingers for us, in order us to have been noticed by a label. We hope you will like it, dont forget to share this with your friends!" More...

IWrestledABearOnce is on the full Vans Warped Tour this summer performing on the Ernie Ball Stage. Fans attending the festival will notice something unfamiliar on stage: the band performing with a different vocalist. To cast all rumors and speculation aside, guitarist Steven Bradley has issued the following statement:
"So here it is... complete transparency. A press release written by me (Steven, original IWABO guitarist) with the truth on what's going down.
"The day before our Warped Tour show in Dallas, TX we had a day off in the DFW area. Krysta lives there now, so she went home to relax and do some laundry. The next day, we received word from her minutes before our set that she discovered she and her fiancé are expecting a kid and she would not be returning to finish Warped Tour with us. Obviously this is an insane curveball for everybody, but in typical IWABO fashion we will press on. And no matter what happens, Krysta has been our best friend for years and we want her to be happy.
"So what the fuck is the plan then, you ask? Well on literally a few minutes notice, our friend Courtney LaPlante flew her ass down to meet up with us today so that won't miss a single show of this tour. Courtney is a beast in both the singing and screaming departments and is also an incredibly awesome person. We wouldn't tarnish the years of work that we've put into this band by having somebody half-ass it on stage with us, so please come to a show and give her a high-five and make her feel welcome for doing us this huge favor. It makes it feel even better and more natural since she has been a long-term fan of our band and already knows the material.
"So long story short; Fear not friends and Bear Fuckers... We will continue to play Warped Tour and we hope that you will continue to support us. Getting to play for and talk to so many of you on a daily basis is honestly what we live for, and we will definitely continue with our plan to high-five everybody on Earth. We will update you with more info soon, including some new tour dates and info on our recently-finished full-length horror/comedy/whatever film A Beary Scary Movie!
"And finally, thank you so much to everybody who has been so supportive of us for all these years and we hope to see you again soon!"
Norwegian black metallers Ragnarok, who signed with Agonia Records earlier this year, have released a new video for the title track from their last album "Collectors of the King." The video is produced by William Brovold, directed by Stefan E Pedersen and the cinematography is by Lasse Roed. Check out the clip below.
Drummer and Ragnarok founder Jontho had this to say about the video: "It’s the first official video we’ve done for the band, and for a band that’s been around as long as we have, you could say it’s been a long time in coming. It’s a very dark piece in every sense of the word and perfectly conveys the atmosphere and subject matter of the track itself. We’re very pleased with the result, and now we’ve got a taste for it, it certainly won’t be the last video we make and you can rest assured that the new album will provide plenty of material for the next one."
The band recently entered Endarker Studios in Sweden to record what will be Ragnarok's seventh full-length album. At the production helm is studio owner and Marduk bassist Devo. So far all the drum and guitar tracks have been recorded for the as-yet-untitled album, which is due for release later this year.
The band’s next live appearance will be in August at this year’s Party.San Open Air Festival in Schlotheim, Germany. More...

"Playing in Forbidden has been a dream come true for me. It has allowed me to tour the world, play with and meet some of the most amazing bands, make friends for life, perform some phenomenal shows, and, most important, experience the most amazing FANS...I'll truly miss the inspiration and love that people from around the world have shown towards the MUSIC. As I leave for a new endeavor, I want to express my thanks and gratitude for all the incredible musicians both past and present who have graced their magical touch on Forbidden's music. To be a part of this band and to have these guys as friends and family for life is a true blessing. Thanks guys for the support and I look forward to seeing Forbidden carry on for years to come." Folk metal warriors Ensiferum will release their brand new opus to North American fans late this Summer through Spinefarm Records. Titled "Unsung Heroes," the band’s fifth studio offering is over an hour long and sees the Finnish five-piece pushing their signature sound to bold new heights of drama and excess.
A cinematic experience from beginning to end, "Unsung Heroes" includes the 16-plus minute track “Passion Proof Power” showing that when it comes to epic statements, Ensiferum is very much at the frontlines, swords in hand. Produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Sentenced, Apocalyptica), the album features artwork by Kristian Wahlin and a medley of special guests including members of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter plus legendary Finnish singer/actor, Vesa-Matti Loiri.
Comments bassist Sammi Hinka of Unsung Heroes: “On this album we pushed the boundaries of the key elements that make Ensiferum's music what it is and really took our music to another level. Crushing metal combined with majestic and beautiful folk and orchestration parts make this album something really unique in the whole genre!”

Special guests Backtrack and Northlane will also be coming along for the trek, kicking off September 10th. The following press release was also issued:
"It is no coincidence that listeners of Stray From The Path will often have a difficult time confining them to a specific genre. The have made it a point to remain unpredictable, intricate, and intelligent. After previously revealing that frontman Alexi Laiho had been hospitalized in Norway, Children Of Bodom has now announced the band is forced to cancel the previously scheduled appearance at the Ruisrock festival. Children of Bodom comments:
“This is not an easy letter for us to write. Alexi is suffering from a serious infection. He is still in hospital in Oslo under supervision of the doctors and we don’t know yet when they will release him.
"We have no choice other than canceling Ruisrock in Turku on Saturday as well. This is a very bitter pill for us to swallow. We had decided to do only two festivals in our homeland this summer to make it real special, and now this.
"We hope that we will be able to make up for this very soon. To all our fans who had been looking forward to rock with us at Ruisrock this weekend, take our apologies and enjoy the festival. In our spirits, we will be there, too.”

Indie Recordings has issued the following statement about inking a deal with Oslo-based act NettleCarrier:
"We are proud to announce the signing of NettleCarrier! NettleCarrier is freezing cold, satanic black metal at its best. It’s true, it’s Norwegian. Starring T. Ciekals (Djevel, Ljå), Mannevond (Koldbrann, Urgehal) and Dirge Rep (Orcustus, Gehenna, Gorgoroth, Enslaved), this band has a great future ahead. The 7” vinyl 'To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven,' released in 2007, was an eye opener for the underground scene and NettleCarrier is now finally ready for a full-length album.
"NettleCarrier was formed in 2004 when T. Ciekals, at the time member of the band “Ljå”, moved to Oslo and teamed up with Mannevond from the infamous 'Koldbrann.' They had a burning desire to create a black metal band that did not sound like any other band, but with an older and more sinister sound. In late 2006 Vold joined in on drums for a short while and as a threepiece the pace increased. This resulted in the 7” vinyl 'To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven.'
"When Mannevond started Urgehal and T. Ciekals formed 'Djevel,' NettleCarrier was put on ice for almost three years. After the Djevel album was released, T. Ciekals was finally able to focus on NettleCarrier again. The very talented Dirge Rep joined the band on drums in 2010 and the decision to record an album was taken. Thus 2012 sees the release of a full-length album from this talented trio."
For more details on NettleCarrier, navigate over to the band's Facebook profile.

The upcoming release features artwork by Par Olofsson, creator of the cover art for their last two albums, "Legacy Of The Ancients" (7/06/10) and "Awaken To The Suffering" (9/13/11). The concept is simple: the Doctor is controlling the 2012 apocalypse and destroying the world! More...

Finnish black metal act Enochian Crescent has checked in with the following announcement about parting way's with vocalist Wrath:
"'All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.' - Anatole France
"After all the twists and turns, ups and downs that we have lived through as years rolled by I never thought that there would be a day when Wrath and I put our musical partnership to a shelf. The decision was a moment of both great sadness and great relief. However, this was something that had to be done at this stage to ensure the continued productive musical careers of both parties. I can assure you all that both Wrath with Black Dawn and I with the remaining members of Enochian Crescent shall outpour new music with newfound vigour and intensity.
"When we founded Enochian Crescent in 1995, Wrath and I made a pact that should either quit the band we would put the name to rest also. As a man of my words I shall honour this agreement. The remaining members (Bolton - drums, Tunturituuli - bass, Vilhelm - guitar, and Viktor - guitar, vocals) shall continue the musical legacy of Enochian Crescent and you will be hearing songs from the old albums in the live-set. We are recruiting a new lead vocalist, whose name shall be announced in the future, to complete the band and to finish up the new full-length album. The already booked festival gigs shall be played under the name Enochian Crescent alongside with other contractual responsibilities.
"The remaining band members want to wish Wrath all the best in the future and I personally want to thank my long standing Omega Comrade and friend for all these years. He is a man with unique vocal talent and personality to match in this world of mediocrity.
"The new album is already recorded music wise and we shall bellow in the rest of the vocals in late August or early September, so you can expect a late 2012 or early 2013 release through Spinefarm Records. The new material pushes the borders of Enochian Crescent's musical realm further in every direction and to be honest I just cannot get enough of the new songs.
"Even though these news might shock and upset some, worry not; it was all for the best. And you may (if you will) enjoy both the voice of Wrath and the music of Enochian Crescent in near future. In LVX et NOX."
Melbourne act Elysian has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's vocalist:
"Elysian regret to announce that our vocalist and best friend Ben Garner has decided to part ways with Elysian. Ben has been with us from the start and we will miss him like a brother. We have always viewed him as an inspiration and one of Australia's finest metal vocalists. This was in no way a bitter split and we still have plans to move forward. Ben will be playing his last show with us this Saturday night in Canberra at Assidian's 2nd b'day celebration.
Ben also had this to say: "I am sad to say that i am leaving Elysian, but it is for quite a simple reason, I have another dream that I want to accomplish. Elysian is the greatest band and musical experience that I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. I for one am really excited to hear what they come up with in the future and I wish them and all the bands I have shared the stage with in my time the best of luck."
The band released new album "Wires of Creation" back in March of 2012, and the full album is available for streaming at this location. For more info on Elysian, head over to the band's official Facebook profile.
