A fairly brand new name to the genre, Dallas-born death metal entity Cleric will leave a memorable impression upon the scene soon enough, as a debut LP is approaching, confirmed for release on local independent label Tofu Carnage Records. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Formed by underground combatants from Kill the Client, Baring Teeth, and Tyrannosorceress, the members of Cleric are no stranger to all things brutal and visceral, and they fuse their old-school death metal aggressive tendencies here into a relentless attack. Recorded by Garry Brents (Kill The Client, Phobia, Noisear) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (From Ashes Rise, Nails, Sleep), Cleric’s debut full-length LP, Gratum Inferno, boasts nearly a half-hour of grating, Stockholm-bred but Americanized death through seven hymns of debauchery, bizarre, haunting and horror-soundtrack elements permeating from deep within its hellish core.
"Not only designed to be experienced aurally, Gratum Inferno is for those who truly appreciate the aesthetic value of deluxe packaging and heavyweight color vinyl. The album is pressed on 200-gram, translucent yellow wax with blood red and milky clear splatter and features heavyweight spot-varnish printed jackets, gold foil-stamped inner-sleeve graphics, and was mastered at 45rpm for superior sound quality. This is an album that was truly meant for vinyl. The original and insane cover art was masterminded by Jason Barnett (Noothgrush, etc.). Gratum Inferno will see its proud release via Dallas’ Tofu Carnage Records -- responsible for quality vinyl releases for Dead To A Dying World, Akkolyte, Unconscious Collective and Ecocide -- in mid-September, with an official street date pending.
"Amped on releasing the crushing debut, Tofu Carnage set up preorders for the album early, and hooked up with Cvlt Nation to stream Gratum Inferno nearly two months before its proposed release. Uncage the audio and illustrative iniquity of Gratum Inferno for yourself right here."

Vattnet Viskar has compiled a making-of video from time spent in the studio recording "Sky Swallower," the band's debut full-length album.
"Sky Swallower" was recorded at Universal Noise Storage under the watchful eye of producer Brett Boland, and features eight songs of atmospheric black metal, filtered through the members' own hardcore pasts and imbued with doom metal's heart-rending heaviness. The album is due out September 3rd via Century Media Records.
Melotov Records presents its release of Bone Dance's 2010 EP, "Snakecharmers," which is due out August 27th.
Originally self-released by the band and now long out of print, "Snakecharmers" finally gets its justice, thanks to Melotov. A limited run of 500 copies, Melotov's reissue of the EP features new artwork, adorning a one-sided, color vinyl 12" (200 "smoke haze," 300 gold).
From Boise, Idaho, Bone Dance churns out what the band refers to as "utter, desert-driven nihilism" - suffocating heaviness in the order of Botch, Coalesce, and Engineer. Sludgy riffs spiral downward, drums strike and recoil, and vocalist Morgan Mechling spits pure disgust as if preemptively delivering mankind's eulogy.
The "Snakecharmers" reissue comes after Melotov's release of Bone Dance's self-titled full-length in Fall 2012. The "Snakecharmers" track listing is as follows: More...

"We are soon to begin working on our most magical and esoteric album to date. For that purpose our dear fraters Thomas Karlsson (a well-known occult author of important works such as 'Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic') and Tommie Eriksson (the leader of the mighty horde Saturnalia Temple) will contribute to this work.
"Thomas will write most of the album's lyrics while Tommie will lend us his magnificent voice. Responsible for the artwork and layout will be the exceptional new artist and frater of ours Michael Idehall."

"He appreciates your understanding and we would like to respect his privacy and give him the time he needs to sort stuff out. He will be back in time from Bloodstock onwards and worry not, the band and our friend Rui lopez will be taking up vocal duties!
"Thanks for continuing to believe in Breed 77 and as always, hold on tight for the ride as we set the world on fire! See you at the front."

"IV: Empires Collapse" is a collective work between the five band members and the producers. "Musically, all five of us brought something for the rest of the group to work off of and we were all a part of chiseling away at the ideas," says drummer Carlos Cruz of the recording process. Broken Hope's Jeremy Wagner comments: "Wes Benscoter is one of my favorite artists, EVER. In my opinion, he’s right up there with Frank Frazetta, Michael Whelan, and Todd Schorr. Ever since Benscoter did our Repulsive Conception and Loathing album covers, I've wanted to work with him again. I was beyond thrilled when Benscoter agreed to take on the Omen of Disease project…and he nailed it! He's captured the vile essence, putrid vibe, and apocalyptic, disease-laden horror of Omen of Disease. Thank you for creating another masterpiece, Wes Benscoter."
The "Omen of Disease" album was recorded between two studios: drums were exclusively recorded at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI. with engineer Chris Wisco, and the remaining bulk of the album was completed at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL. with engineer Scott Creekmore. The album is slated for worldwide release in October via Century Media Records. More...

Check out the track "Shattered Existence" following the album cover art and tour dates if not acquainted with the band.
The upcoming debut album comes on the heels of last year's self-released EP, "Eternal Decay," and sees the band overcome a series of obstacles in the form of lineup changes. Earlier this year, Michael Brush (ex-Hellbastard) stepped in to take over drum duties and original guitarist David Siddons took his leave and was recently replaced by shredder Luke Tasker. This will be 11 tracks of pure terror."
"Vile Extinction" was recorded at Stuck on a Name Studios by co-producer Ian Boult and was mixed and mastered by Neil Williams at Abysmal Audio.
