Today, Denial of God offers an exclusive stream of the band's brand-new album, "Death and the Beyond," through Decibel magazine's website. "Death and the Beyond," out now through Hells Headbangers, can be heard in its entirety for a limited time right here.
The band's publicist also commented, "A cult name in the darkest metal underground, Denmark's Denial of God has been going strong since the golden year of 1991. And while 'Death and the Beyond' may only be the band's second album, Denial of God don't skimp on the old-school evil: quality before quantity!" More...
Finland's Decaying has issued the following announcement about working on an upcoming album:
"All but two songs have now lyrics written and the rehearsing continues. We are going to start tracking guitars in the start of October. No studio date has been set for the drums yet though. Can't wait to get this album recorded!
"The track listing for 'The Last Days Of War' looks like this right now, although the song titles aren't final. All songs have been demoed and we're right now rehearsing them.Total length of the CD is about 46 minutes.
"1. 'Preparation' - it is the intro for the album, a minute long song with a cool Bolt Thrower -like melody.
"2. 'Code Name Overlord' - our 'new Operation Citadel' of the record. Fast riffing, drums annihilate and the chorus is memorable. The lenght of the song is 6 minutes... Tells about the Invasion of Normandy.
"3. 'The Ardennes Offensive' - the fastest song of the album, 4 out of 6 minutes is constant thrash beat. The song slows down a bit in the middle section, and once again starts ripping things apart. Battle Of The Bulge was the last large scaled, although desperate offensive Germany launched in the WW2.
"4. 'Firestorm' - The second longest track, about seven and half minutes. This one has multiple sections - in the beginning it goes midtempo with a lead guitar on top, then it speeds up for a while accompanied by a galloping guitar riff. Things slow down to create a doom metal atmosphere, and in the end there's a fast heavy metal riff which will get some heads rolling for sure! The theme for "Firestorm" isn't yet quite set, but right now it will probably tell about the bombing raids Britain and US commited over Germany in WW2. More...

Autumns Eyes, which released new album "Please Deceive Me" (reviewed here) earlier this year, has issued the following statement about re-recording early songs:
"I recently revealed a current project where Im recording the first five songs ever written by yours truly. Lots of fans have been asking for details on what to expect sonically from this new release. Right off the bat you will notice the songs are much longer and more in depth than any other Autumns Eyes tracks. The song style is very sporadic as I never paid attention to popular formats featuring verse-chorus-verse or something similar. You can also rest assure my wretched voice won’t be gracing the album anywhere, since these are all instrumental songs.
"I never wrote the songs for public release, they were just some what of a hobby for me in the beginning. I was a drummer for my entire life, and when my parents asked what I wanted for Christmas in 1998 all I could repeat was a new drum set. The time came and there was no drums in sight, all that bastard Santa Claus left was a four track recorder. Apparently my parents got the idea from my brother in law (also a musician) who suggested the four track to be a smarter choice in the long run, and how right he was!
"The device collected dust for months before I actually used it, but when I did it was like opening the creative flood gates. I borrowed a friends keyboard and played out drum tracks by hand followed by guitars, bass, and keyboards. I had never written a song before, and simply wrote riff after riff piecing together whatever sounded right at the time. Eventually my friends began to take notice, and apparently like what they heard. One of their favorite tracks they nicknamed the 'Mad Clown Song' for its Elfman inspired demonic circus sound.

Following many months of touring throughout 2011 and into 2012 in support of fourth full-length release, "Celestial Lineage," Wolves In The Throne Room this week issue an official statement on the current state of the band as well as some insight on what the future may hold for the brothers Weaver. The group comments:
"After months of journeying we’re settled back into our life at home. Soft, warm breezes, the calls of Ravens and Eagles, the scent of Cedar and Salt Water. The Northwest Summer is a soothing balm to the stresses and strains of the road and the alchemic pressure-cooker of the recording studio. But it has been a great two years for us.
"We are so proud of Celestial Lineage, and our tours in the United States and Europe were inspiring and full of good experiences. Contrary to sensationalist rumor, we have no desire or intention to end Wolves In The Throne Room. It is very possible that future albums will be recorded. Live performances might transpire. But for now, we are reconnecting to hearth and home. More...

Taiwan has no shortage of ass-kicking front women in its growing metal scene, with a collection of female-fronted groups that are making a name for themselves both locally and abroad. Here are three bands from Taiwan with ladies at the helm that prove metal is no longer nearly as male-dominated as it once might have been.
Eye of Violence
Though just in her early twenties, Eye of violence front woman Lala Lin is already a seasoned veteran in the Taiwan metal scene, having previously done time in Hardcase before making a move over to Eye of Violence in 2009. The band has been active in Taiwan, playing all over the country, and recently made its first couple of forays to foreign shores, making two appearances in South Korea. Combining elements of metalcore, deathcore, and hints of electronic music, Eye of Violence has a determinately modern sound for the younger generation of metal fans. Currently, the band is playing in support of its debut EP, “Tears of the Victims.”
