Today the U.K. death thrashers have teamed up with Terrorizer Magazine to offer the world a pre-release aural assault of "At First Light" in full. You can stream the full album below.
Recorded between Foel Studio, Wales & the band’s home studios before going under the talented ears of Scott Atkins (Sylosis, Cradle Of Filth, Amon Amarth, Gama Bomb) for a final mix and master, "At First Light" is a combination of thrash and death metal interlaced with an ever so slight progressive tendency.
After The Devil's Blood disbanded and released a final album, member SL has now begun work on a new project titled Selim Lemouchi & His Enemies. SL comments:
"The second part of recordings for the upcoming full length has begun. Tracking guitars all through these hot summer nights. Spirits are high and the spirits are in favour of our fearless and often reckless ways. In the farthest reaches of the multiverse our chants will be heard! Move, appear, show, teach and alter!
"I can safely say now that the album's name will be 'Earth Air Spirit Water Fire' and that it will be released, in December, by Ván Records."
The new album "Earth Air Spirit Water Fire" will be preceded by a 12" single entitled "Next stop Universe B." Further details will be announced as they become available.

Iron Knights is now offering the "Destroyer" track as a free download via the band's official website here. Iron Knights also checked in with the following update:
"Formed from the ashes of a fallen Squadron, forged in the fires of that purgatory where the dead won’t die yet the living can’t live. At long last we emerge from the shadows of the past; it is a time of reinvention.
"Although the roots of the band can be traced back to 2008, the real change that has lifted the band to new heights took place at the end of a European support tour with Vicious Rumors in May/June 2013. From the original Iron Knights, bassist Paul ‘Beam’ Robbie and drummer Larry Paterson were the sole survivors.
"Their respective musical journeys have been linked since they formed their first band in New Zealand in 1983: Aftermath. Since then they have appeared in numerous bands, both in New Zealand and the UK where they eventually relocated at separate times over the decades that followed. Amongst the various musical adventures that followed, they were both members of UK bands Metalhead and Chokehold, after which Larry spent years with former Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley. Eventually they were musically reunited once more in Stuka Squadron, which subsequently became Iron Knights leading to June 2013. With half of the original Iron Knights’ ranks depleted, they soon recruited two highly experienced veterans on the UK metal world into the fold. First of all, Jay Parmar came aboard to handle guitars. More...
"Heartfelt, passionate and heavy" is how metalcore six piece Her Dying Regret describe the new EP "Legacy," which will be self-released this September 19th.
Following up the debut EP "The Siren," "Legacy" was recorded at Avenue Studios, Camberley with producer Daniel Kerr and shows a new side to the band.
“We want that to be a distant memory and for ‘Legacy’ to be what we're remembered for.” says guitarist Craig Mayor. “On ‘Legacy’ the lyrical content and vocal style is very different as we have two vocalists providing a new dynamic that allows us to be more creative and versatile, we've also taken some elements out of different sub genres of metal to fuse it with our own sound to create something different.”
The hourglass inspired artwork designed by Abyss Art’s Vincent Bolar is an important addition to the feel of "Legacy," according to Craig. “There has a lot of emphasis on time and a few songs on our EP have the message of making the most of the time you have, the hourglass represents lifespan, the EP almost has a seize the day kind of theme to it.”
3. All Judge, No Jury
4. The Shallow
6. The Last Lie
7. The Filthy Truth More...
Pitch Black has checked in with the following statement about inking a deal with Gypsy Chief Goliath:
"Pitch Black Records is pleased to announce the addition of Gypsy Chief Goliath into its artist roster. Known globally as a stoner metal band, Canadians Gypsy Chief Goliath incorporate three guitar players and a harmonica player giving them a blues edge to their heavy groove. Thin Lizzy meets Black Sabbath, with subtle elements of modern heavy metal here and there, this is a 'heavy blues' band that wavers on the edge of metal, stoner, doom and classic rock. More...

Zud has self-released "The Good, The Bad, and the Damned," and now a track from the album is available online. Check out "Blood and Twilight" below. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"There are a few of them left out there. None are nearby. Most are dead anyway. The castle has been under a long siege and strange things go on behind walls when death is such a good old pal... In one sense four years in the making, yet in another thrown together in six months.
"And so, out of the dead end peninsula of Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine, ZUD presents their debut full-length, The Good, The Bad And The Damned.
"Infectiously and seamlessly merging the aesthetics of black metal and classic rock, delivering tunes with an exceedingly organic delivery and live-for-now outlook, ZUD somehow does something vibrant and fresh while simultaneously paying homage to those who forged the paths the four members have traveled thus far in life. Recorded and mixed by Todd Hutchinson (Falls of Rauros, AOK Suicide Forest) at Acadia Recording Company in Portland, Maine and mastered by Tore Stjerna (Watain, Repugnant) at Necromorbus Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, The Good, The Bad And The Damned hits fucking hard with more than forty minutes of killer, free-form, high-octane metal perfect for those late Summer night parties full of suds and bud, while keeping you aware of the fact that no matter how good or bad life may be, death is always within spitting distance.
King Conquer has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting temporary members for upcoming tour dates:
"Hey guys, we are very sorry to announce that 3 of our members - Adam Whited, Chris Whited, and James Mislow - will not be able to do this tour because of personal/financial problems.
"We are very sad to not have them come out on this one, and we know they are very sad to not be able to attend. With that being said, we are going to have people filling these spots for just THIS tour...
Ryan Gardner from Rose Funeral - Vocals
Jesse Kirkbride from Dealey Plaza - Bass
(Longtime friend) Nate Smith - Drums
"We know this may come as a surprise to many of you and completely understand why. The members filling in have worked very hard to bring the King Conquer fans the best show possible with the situation given.
"We apologize to anyone who is a personal fan of these members, they WILL be back out on tour with us, just not this tour. Thank you for the continued support! We can't wait to see you all in August/September!"
Oklahoma-based metalcore quintet, 2X4, is preparing for the release of second album "Dark Hand," which hits shelves this Tuesday, July 30th. The new album is streaming in its entirety today via Lambgoat.com. Check out the album below.
When asked about what went into creating the new album, vocalist Micah Hutson explained: “Dark Hand to me is totally different then anything we've ever put out. We still write heavy music but musically, we had more talent in the writing and recording process with the addition of Eric, Matt, and Jayson. Lyrically, I wanted to write a little differently than I had on Dead Days. To do this, I had to change my entire thought process.
"During the writing and recording of Dead Days, I had a lot of crap going on in my life that caused me to view and deal with everything with negativity and hate. Things turned around shortly before I began writing. Consequently, Dark Hand is written about is riding your life of hate, making those changes, and how it brings forth more positivity. Dark Hand is my personal story of changing for the better and the struggles that came while making that change.” More...

The track delves into the folklore theme of the EP, more specifically, sea demon folklore. Check out the song below.
Guitarist Hilarl comments: “This track is about a mythical sea serpent which seeks a virgin as a sacrifice every full moon. The people of the islands are led to believe this but the truth is that the king is the one seeking these virgins while making the people believe otherwise. Rannamaari is the name of this serpent."
Nothnegal will release band’s upcoming experimental self-titled EP in North America on August 6th, 2013. The EP is out today in all other territories. Cattle Decapitation has launched a brand new video for "Your Disposal," taken from the band's most recent album, "Monolith of Inhumanity." The band worked with Mitch Massie once again to create an irreverent, grotesque piece of video, available below.
Cattle Decapitation's Travis Ryan comments: "Director Mitch Massie has presented us all with a bizarre retelling of the story of Adam and Eve using themes from our latest album "Monolith of Inhumanity." Here we see Eve giving birth to humanity, a living, breathing piece of primordial meat birthed into the dirt making its way through the garden of eden, hellbent on destruction… A clean and conscious monolith foretelling what could be possible given the fact that humans exhibit superior traits of intelligence, instead the earth is flooded with technological fallout and debris by the hands of man. This video is very much a prequel to our other videos 'Forced Gender Reassignment' and of course, 'Kindgom of Tyrants.'" More...

Despite misconceptions, how could the huge country of China not have a big metal scene? It most certainly does. Even though social media, ISPs, chat rooms, forums and much of the internet is highly state regulated in China, there are enough ways for Chinese metal bands and fans to communicate out there. Like Deng Xiaoping once famously said - "If you open the window for fresh air, you have to expect some flies to blow in." More...
