Canadian metallers Ye Goat-Herd Gods self-released their debut album "Becoming Flesh" on July 16th, 2012. You can check out a song from the release, titled "Unrepentant," in the player below. The band also commented on the album:
"Becoming Flesh is a singularly compelling mix of black and heavy metal with an outlandish rock back-bone; this is metal at its most 'deceptively simple.' Harmonically full, and heavy with a sonorously classic metal feel described as 'epic,' Becoming Flesh captivates with unabashed accessibility while diabolically crafting a Dionysian spirit of rebellion and children dancing to the pipes of Pan.
"This year our work is to ring in Armageddon. We are here to provide, for your listening pleasure, the soundtrack to the apocalypse."
The debut, self-titled album from the Athens, Georgia-based melodic metal band Theocracy will be re-released through Ulterium Records. The album was originally released through Metal Ages Records in 2003, and is now very rare and hard to find. No release date is set for the re-release yet, but more information and updates will follow.
Theocracy vocalist Matt Smith comments on the re-release:
"A lot of people ask us how to get the debut Theocracy album, which is long out of print. Well, you won't have to wait much longer, because it's going to be re-released through Ulterium Records! We went through a lot of discussion about how much we wanted to rework it: Do we re-record the whole thing with the new lineup? Do we just release it as-is? There were a lot of ways we could go, but ultimately we decided that people love that album and it's a snapshot in time, so we didn't want to completely redo something people are attached to.
"We'd rather present the best-sounding version we can of what's already there, with one change that seemingly everyone wants to hear: real drums! Shawn's going to record drums to the tracks that are already there, and then I'm going to remix it, so it should be killer. Right now I'm going through the tracks and trying to get everything organized and usable (some of those recordings were really bad!), and soon we'll be ready for Shawn to lay down the drum tracks. Keep checking in, and we'll keep you posted as it unfolds!"
The latest Theocracy album "As The World Bleeds" was released in Europe on November 25th through Ulterium Records, in North America on November 21st through Nightmare Records and in Japan on April 25th through King Records. "As The World Bleeds" debuted at #40 in the Billboard Heatseekers Chart during the first week of release.
Theocracy was also featured on the power metal edition of our weekly "Unearthing the Metal Underground" columen.
Canadian folk metal warriors Scythia are proud to present their new music video for "Spirit of the Quest," taken from their sophomore album, "...Of Exile," which was released in 2011. Vocalist/guitarist Dave Khan comments:
"Scythia is pleased to finally reveal Spirit of the Quest. This video has been a long time in the making as we've made several attempts to capture our excitement and enthusiasm as well as the story on the album with an indie budget. Filming and editing it was an extremely fun and humorous process, we worked with James Weekes and Rosie Anson of Hammer Records to capture the footage. They were both great at capturing wicked content and amping us up to get into character." More...

Los Angeles-based act Holy Grail has finished recording sophomore album "Ride The Void" -- the follow-up to "Crisis In Utopia," named one of Revolver's Top 20 albums of 2010 -- which was tracked with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Children of Bodom) on and off throughout the year, working around national tours with Dragonforce and Valient Thorr. To celebrate the album's completion, the group will support Sebastian Bach at L.A.'s Club Nokia on Aug. 2nd.
Says vocalist James Paul Luna, "Album finished! You don't know how good those words feel! Day after day and month after month, we've been listening back, tweaking and fine-tuning this wretched beast of an album we call 'Ride The Void.' Finally, after many hours in the cave, we can gladly say it's done.
"To top it all off, I woke up to an e-mail saying we're opening for Sebastian Bach! WTF?! Sebastian is one of those rare dudes that was glam yet still kept it gritty and tough and that's what I'm all about. I think it's the Canadian in him that keeps him raw. Needless to say, we are thrilled to support a legendary voice such as his. And did I already mention the album is finished? Damn, still can't get over that! Shred on!"
More information about "Ride The Void" -- tentatively set for a late fall release -- will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Goregrind roadhounds Exhumed will bring their hymns of repugnance to the live arena again on this year’s edition of the Summer Slaughter Tour, set to commence tomorrow at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles. This run will mark the return of former bassist Bud Burke, who will take the place of Wes Caley on guitar.
Comments frontman Matt Harvey: “We're psyched to welcome Bud Burke back in the ranks of Exhumed, this time on lead guitar. For those of you who knew him as our bassist (from '99 - '04), you will be pleasantly surprised when he melts your face onstage with the band for the Summer Slaughter tour. Rob [Babcock], Mike [Hamilton] and I are all excited to have someone with killer chops and a deep history with the band on board. We look forward to coming to your town, drinking all your beer and then making fun of your record collection as usual! After the Canadian Ritual tour with Black Dahlia Murder, we made the decision to part ways with guitarist Wes Caley, and Bud was the perfect person to step in on lead guitar. I know Wes' new project, Downfall, is currently in the works and will be awesome and we wish him the best. In the meantime, we'll see all your drooling, sweaty faces on the road!”

Belgian melodic black metallers Saille have entered Shumcot Studios in Aartrijke (Belgium) with producer Reinier Schenk (Gorath, Fleshmould) to begin recording their new as-yet-untitled album, for a January 2013 release via Code666 records.
Commented Saille keyboard player Dries Gaerdelen: “When creating our new album, I did research on and was inspired by several ancient destruction rituals. The new songs are therefore darker, faster, more aggressive and create a feeling of unease. The lyrics written by frontman Dennie Grondelaers, explore the history of those death rites. With the drums being recorded a while ago, we’ve all got a 'recording state of mind' and have a feeling we're creating more than just songs. We're looking forward to unleashing our creations on the audience, both on cd and live!"
The artwork will be created by Polish digital landscape artist Michal Karcz, who also developed the band's former artwork. Mastering will be done by Tom Kvålsvoll, who previously worked with 1349, Dimmu Borgir, and Keep Of Kalessin. Saille’s debut album, "Irreversible Decay," was released in March 2011 via Code666 records.

Fullforce has introduced new guitar ace Stefan Rosqvist, who replaced CJ Grimmark a few months ago. Check out a short video showing the new guitarist at work in the studio here.
13 songs will be featured on "Next Level," which the band promises will have a melodic, heavy sound. Fullforce is:

Avant-garde act Stolen Babies and Bloody-Disgusting.com have just leaked the never-before-seen album art for the band's upcoming second full-length album, "Naught," set for release later this year. You can view the new album art at this location or below.
“In continuing our collaboration with artist Crab Scrambly, it was really important to us to create something our fans would want to keep staring at while they caress and possibly fondle it's smooth exterior... not something easily done to a downloadable mp3, I must note,” states bassist Rani Sharone. “We hope this album cover brings plenty of candy coated smiles to the masses and even more warm and fuzzy feelings when they see the rest of this little gem that is the album's packaging. Naught is our mutant, not so well behaved second full-length studio album and we look forward to its release!”
The band plans to release solid details about "Naught" in the coming weeks. This September, Stolen Babies will be touring the United States with co-headliners Devin Townsend Project, Katatonia, and special guests Paradise Lost as part of the “Epic Kings & Idols Tour” (DTP and Katatonia will alternate in headlining each show). Singaporean grindcore trio Wormrot recently wrapped up a six-week tour of Europe, which culminated in a performance at Obscene Extreme festival in the Czech Republic.
Following the tour, the band revealed plans for taking a break from touring for a few years to attend to personal commitments. Contrary to rumours however, Wormrot is not currently disbanding and plans to return with a new album in 2013 or 2014, with plans to tour again in 2015.
Wormrot vocalist Arif Rof has issued the following statement:
"In regards to our post about taking a break on Facebook, some people misunderstood that we have broken up right after the recent tour. But that is definitely false information. We are taking a break from TOURING as we have other personal commitments to attend this time around. It's definitely not because of what happened to us during the tour (ripped off, abandoned etc.). That was part and parcel of touring. No big deal and it's probably a dead fucking issue now anyway. NONE of these relate to why we are taking a break.
"We played a couple of new songs on the tour from the next album. And still writing as we speak. So calm down, get your facts straight. All you need to know is that we are still very much alive and still writing new material for the upcoming album. We have been touring four years straight, every year. So we need a breather before we rage again across the globe. I said it before and I will say it again: WORMROT IS NOT DEAD. PERIOD."

Swedish act Age of Woe has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting a drummer and update on the band's new album:
"We just got back home from the lovely Rosenhanska Magasinet, where we resided to record our upcoming album. It was a place that instantly filled us with inspiration, energy, and serenity and which made a huge impact on us while recording. Together with producers and sound engineers Lennart Östlund (Polar Studios) and Carlos Sepulveda (Belly of the Whale Studio), we recorded 10 dirty, heavy as fuck songs that we all are extremely satisfied with.
"All that is left now before the mixing and mastering is to record some additional guitars and the vocals. So unfortunately it will still take some more time before we can unveil more juicy information about this album. But be prepared to be knocked out!
"An even more important news is that we finally can announce that we have found a new drummer to replace Markus. David Flood (Monachus) has been a great friend and also covered for Markus on our European tour in April, so the choice was not that hard to make. Besides, David is an outstanding drummer so it feels great to welcome him as a member in Age of Woe.
"Stay tuned for more info about the upcoming album."

Italian symphonic metal band Sound Storm officially unveiled "Immortalia" today, the band's forthcoming sophomore release. In addition, the band announced that they have signed a worldwide deal with Scarlet Records for release of the album.
Since its inception, Sound Storm has developed its own unique blend of metal mixed with a theatrical sense of drama, which was introduced on the debut release "Twilight Opera." With "Immortalia," the band mixes an even wider range of influences with powerful guitars, symphonic choirs, gothic atmospheres and baroque melodies.
"Immortalia" was recorded, mixed and mastered at Metal House Studio by Ettore Rigotti (Disarmonia Mundi), and is an original concept album about the quest for eternal life, derived from literature, poetry and history, resulting in a collection of songs linked together by the common theme of the immortality of the soul. The artwork (shown below) was handled by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire).
"Immortalia" is scheduled for release on August 28th, 2012. Shortly after the band will support Norwegian Gothic Metal veterans Tristania on their new European tour, commencing September 13, 2012. More...

Csaba Zvekan – Lead Vocals (Emergency/Killing Machine)
Stefan Lindholm – Lead Guitar (Vindictiv/Firecracker)
Jamie Mallender – Bass Guitar
Pontus Larsson – Keyboards (Vindictiv/Firecracker)
Henrik Hedman – Drums (Celestial Decay/Last Kingdom)
Bassist Jamie Mallender commented on the additions and impending debut album: "Make no mistake, we have made an album that’s gonna smack you in the face with both fists! This is the record that has been missing from the Metal scene for far too many years. But, despite the obvious anger and power of this music, there’s a lot of melody and harmony in there and we wanted to bring in a keyboard player that loved Metal, to compliment the melodic side, but not water things down or get too Wakeman on our asses. Meet Pontus Larsson, who has filled this role perfectly, he’s done exactly what we wanted him to and we are absolutely thrilled to have him onboard."
New keyboardist Pontus Larsson commented: "I was in the studio recording an album with Vindictiv when I was asked to join Raven Lord. I was kind of busy, but after I listened to the songs and checked out the band members it only took me 1 second to say yes! I’m proud to be a part of the band! It’s great to play with all these talented musicians. See ya out there! Rock on! The Lord of keys!" More...
Presto Ballet bassist Bobby Ferkovich has issued the following announcement about the band finishing work on a new album:
"First, the new album is finished! Musically, that is.. We're still working on the album art and packaging and PR and all that good stuff, but musically, it's done. And that's a huge weight off! It will be called 'Relic Of The Modern World.'
"As Kurdt has blogged about before, we are going to do a vinyl release in addition to CDs and downloads. We're really happy with this one, and we want it to reach our audience on a deeper level than you'll get from downloading singles on iTunes all day. While not a concept album, it does touch on themes of people young and old, of times modern and past. I was thinking about this a lot today, as I was working out in the gym in Bellevue, Washington. It's a great place, but I have one big giant problem with it - the god-awful dance club music they insist on playing at volumes loud enough to permeate my very soul. I've debated the staff there numerous times on the musical merit of that style, and if indeed you can even call the mindless beats created by machines 'music' at all. They themselves have admitted they play it just for background noise while they're teaching fitness classes - it literally gets played because it's so easily ignored. How did that become okay??
"Now far be it from me to impune anyone's taste in music, but the members of Presto Ballet come from a generation where musicians took the time to really learn their instruments. We played 'til our fingers bled, working for weeks learning pieces of music, and we connected with it far more deeply than any connection I can imagine anyone having with those throwaway generic dance beats. It is our intention to bring back that connection!
"We'll be working on new merch soon, but for now if you come to our website here we've got a limited number of shirts for sale from our first run. I believe we only have 3 size XL left as of today, plenty of L and M though. We won't be producing this design again, so grab them now! Of course all our music is available also. A big thank you from all of us for being a fan of the band!"

Indian experimental metal band AcrimonY's debut EP, "False Vacuum" is now available via bandcamp for "name your price" download (including free download). The EP was originally released in December last year.
The title "False Vacuum" refers to a sub-theory of the Parallel universe theory, according to which, "When the universe began, instead of a gravitational pull to keep things together, there was a reverse type of gravitation working and instead repelled everything from it, which was termed a 'false vacuum.' The two conditions are separated, ofcourse, by some energy barrier at the center, thereby forming a metastable system."
Here's the "False Vacuum" tracklisting:
1. Showdown (4:48)
2. Recede to Death (8:52)
3. Smash 'em Good (5:11)
4. Can't Sleep (5:18)

Cannibal Accident, that Finnish grindcore band that brought us the song "Chili Con Carnage" a few years ago, has released a second full-length album on Nailjar Records.
