Dutch industrial metal band The Corn Husk Project has released a new video for “This Life," which is a tribute to the band’s musical inspirations and the first song from an upcoming 5-track EP.
Last year The Corn Husk Project released debut album “La Isla De Las Muñecas,” accompanied by three music videos. Anagnorisis, the Louisville, KY-based black/death metal band, has released a new EP entitled “Ghost of Our Fathers," breaking the three year hiatus with a slew of shows planned for July and August, including a stint of dates with Abigail Williams. The songs can be heard in the player below, or over at bandcamp. The track listing is as follows:
1. Clan of Kerr
2. Only Suffering is Free
Anagnorisis also commented, “In the last three years, we have lost two men very close to us: Zachary’s father James E. Kerr, and Samuel’s step-father Robert C. Dayle. This two song release is a tribute to their memory. Ghost of Our Fathers is a look at the new era of Anagnorisis, while using the recurring themes of black and death metal that have defined our music over the past nine years.
"As the term 'anagnorisis' represents self-discovery and awareness, band members Zachary Kerr and Samuel Hartman each crafted the lyrics to the new songs – Clan of Kerr and Only Suffering is Free – fueled by the idea that each is a cleansing of the grief that comes with death. Musically we owe much to our guitarist, Zak Denham, who spent long hours writing, recording, and programming these songs. The music is intense, aggressive, and showcases the direction of our next full length planned for release in 2013.
"No one likes dormancy, and we give our heartfelt thanks to our fans that have stuck with us and waited patiently for the return of this band. Just as our lives would not be shaped without our fathers, our band’s success would nothing without our supporters. Listen, download, and enjoy our new music as we march forward as a new, stronger Anagnorisis.” More...

U.K. atmospheric death/doom band Indesinence has completed work on the upcoming new album “Vessels Of Light And Decay.” Profound Lore Records commented on the release:
"'Vessels Of Light And Decay,' while only being the band’s second full-length in their decade-plus year career, shows the obsessiveness and fine attention to detail in which Indesinence employ when creating such vast, epic, ocean engulfing monstrous soundscapes. During the listening discourse of 'Vessels Of Light And Decay' one will witness how this work of deathly doom metal art evolves into a monolithic sonic monstrosity making them one of the UK’s most prominent death/doom bands today.
"Described by the band (who have ties and comradeship with bands such as Grave Miasma, Cruciamentum, Pantheist, Code, Esoteric, and Adorior) as 'A full frontal assault of Celtic Frost, Swans, Demoncy, and Barclay James Harvest,' 'Vessels Of Light And Decay' is a distinct and singular death/doom masterwork which will be realized as an important pillar of the genre. One that will carry on the tradition and foundations laid upon by such classic releases as 'Lost Paradise,' 'Gothic,' 'Crestfallen,' 'Pentecost III,' 'The Thrash Of Naked Limbs,' and 'As The Flower Withers.'"
To be officially released September 18th in a thick hardcover digibook (this will be the only format the album will be available in, initially), the tracklisting for “Vessels Of Light And Decay” goes as follows:
3. Vanished Is The Haze
5. La Madrugada Eterna
6. Fade (Further Beyond)
7. Unveiled More...

Italian power metal band Trick Or Treat, featuring Luca Turilli's Rhapsody frontman Alessandro Conti, revealed that the band's third album will be entitled "Rabbits' Hill, Pt. 1," and will be released this fall. The album is a concept album based the best selling book "Watership Down" by Richard Adams, which will be split over two albums.
The band's official announcement reads:
Here we are!!We can reveal all the secrets about the new Trickies’ album!!More...
We have waiting for so long to give even the slightest news because this is a very special album for us; it has more different sounds respect to the music we made in the past years. Indeed this not a 10 separated songs album like “Evil needs candy too” and “Tin Soldiers”. This time we have written a concept, every single song is related to the other creating a unique tale. In order to do this, we have worked hard, we can say the work of a lifetime, due to the fact that we have written some parts even before the end of “Evil needs candy too”. And not by chance we decided to release 2 albums before than this one; to acquire maturity in songwriting, in studio recording and in live performances, and then to be able to finish everything with the maximum perfection granted to us!! ;)
But stop chatting, how is this album titled?and what does it talks about?
The title of the album is “RABBITS’ HILL Part 1”
Why “Part 1”? Because the story is too long and the songs too many. So we decided, after some reflections, to divide the tale in 2 different parts.
The tale is taken from “WATERSHIP DOWN”, the bestseller of Richard Adams, a masterpiece of contemporary literature. An epic adventure that tells the story of a group of rabbits fleeing in search of freedom and a safe place to live. If you have not read it yet, we recommend.
Otherwise, listen to the album, due out this fall!

Italy’s very own Tombstone Highway is the newest member of the Agonia Records roster, and the label commented on the signing:
"The band emerges from the muddy shores of The Po River in Piacenza and draws strong inspiration from the rural and folklore parts of its homeland. Their upcoming debut album is a classic blend of feisty Stoner/Southern Rock and Doom Metal, with catchy guitar solos and old-school heavy metal parts that may remind of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Corrison Of Conformity, Pride and Glory, Down, Black Sabbath, or even ZZ Top riffage. Apart from hard rock instruments, the band uses also a banjo and Hammond organs.
"3 songs (raw and unmastered versions) from Tombstone highway can be heard at their Reverb Nation profile here. The release date of the debut album entitled 'Ruralizer' is scheduled for this Autumn."
The band also stated, "We are pleased to announce that we signed with Agonia Records for the release of our first album 'Ruralizer'. We're very proud of how the album came out and we strongly believe it's the perfect way to begin our legacy. People into heavy, ballsy southern-tinged Hard Rock should take note!"
Continuing the track by track breakdown of new album "Periphery II," Periphery's Misha Mansoor has issued the following explanation of the song "Scarlet:"
"As a lot of you may already know, this was originally a Haunted Shores demo. Haunted Shores is a project that Mark and I were working on before he joined Periphery, and we had demoed a handful of songs. This one was a bit different in vibe from the usual fare and I think it stemmed from the tuning I showed Mark which is an open tuning of some kind (I don't know the name or notes sadly, only how it sounds).
"Mark had written the first riff of the song and I knew we had something special, we were going for 'ear candy,' just something that sounded beautiful, but still had interesting riffs rather than just being straight power chords the whole time. Mark and I managed to write that song pretty fast actually, we were just constantly bouncing ideas off of each other. Sometimes you get lucky, and songs seem to just come together before your very eyes. Haunted shores was supposed to have guest vocalists only, so Spencer demoed some vocals out on it to see what would come of it, and Mark and I absolutely loved what he wrote.
"When Mark joined Periphery, we realized that not only was this song written by 3/5ths of Periphery members (which is more than can be said for most Periphery songs) but that it really fit the vibe of what we wanted for this album and in general. This song is also really cool, because it just screams Mark Holcomb from beginning to end. Even the riffs that I wrote were just reactions to his riffs and I was trying my best to write in his style, so those definitely sound like Mark as well. Matt also ran with whatever he could on this song. In my opinion, he has this gift of being able to spice things up without it seeming like he is overplaying or deliberately trying to show off, and the drums went from just "holding things down" on the demo to driving things forward on the album version. This song will likely be the second Single that we put out in support of the new album." More...

The album has no release date as of yet, and is delayed due to new arrivals in several band members families (including vocalist Nicholas Leptos).
